I went from a 2018 Ford 150 Lariat fully loaded to a 2022 Ford Explorer ST and man I am so happy i went with the ST! This SUV is everything and all that i have ever wanted in a vehicle! It is super nice, has all the performance you could ever want, looks great, the handling is amazing. The speed. I am so happy!

I bought my '18 explorer sport in June of this year (currently August) and I'm still in love with it every single time I drive it. Nothing like the practicality and the thing is a blast to drive. Explorers are awesome SUVs

Overall, I think Ford did a good job on this update......but who thought that screen looked good? Looks like the epitome of an afterthought.
Old explorer is 100% better on inside ( unless your a base model old explorer than nevermind ).
I went to test drive a ST at my local ford dealer and I did not find the interior very appealing at all, in design or comfort. It is also very loud compared to its competitors in its price range, definitely not worth $60,000 I say $48,000 at most.
I agree with Doug...the vertical mount makes the camera pictures too small. It is better on a lower end Explorer with a horizontal screen.

Awful, awful. Subaru did a good job with their 11.5 inch screen in the new Outback/legacy; it's built in and looks like it's part of the car and not an after thought. That's how it should be done.

Unfortunately it's just a minority of people who want fast manual sedans/hatchbacks. All we can look at is the golf GTI/R and the WRX. No more focus RS or Mitsubishi Evo or manual Audi's and BMW. All been replaced by automatic crossovers for the "family"
You're right. And here in the U.K. all cars sold new will have to be hybrid or electric by 2040. (unless the government changes it's mind) its autos or nothing then, wrapped in a bland box and mated to a milkfloat engine. Now is the time for petrolheads to get out there and enjoy themselves. The scoring system is just crap. 5 out of 10 for acceleration? It's a large suv that does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, that's faster than 90% of every other car on the road.
The scoring system only depends on the 0-60mph timing without discriminating on the vehicle class/type
Yeah but that's just average for Dougie who likes beefy speedy cars. Sure 5.2 seconds is pretty speedy compared to most everything else, but In the world of performance-ish cars 5.2 seconds is just respectable.
It's like if picky chicks scored guys based on height 6 feet would be 5/10 even if you're taller than most other guys.

Yep, came here to comment that, too. I own this vehicle and both the front passenger and driver’s seats come standard with massager function at the ST trim level. In fact, if you look at his video at about 8:13 or so, you can see on the screen that it has a button for the passenger seat massage adjustment 🤦🏼♂️

Ive always found it easiest to compare the sizes of countries to sort of show the relation of vehicle size. When you consider that one of our fifty states: Texas is larger than most european countries, its easier to see why and how vehicles like this have become common. We have no ancient cities with streets only large enough for a carriage or run-a-bouts. Our closest example might be some east coast towns that havent grown much since we colonized?

I grew up riding in Explorers. My mom had a 94 when I was born, then a 2004, and later a 2013. She’s a grandma now, but she has grown to like explorers so much that she just upgraded to a 24

@@vee6411 Most of the times people drive in reverse, they drive in a rather straight line. I don't think the steering wheel would be in the way, to be honest. Besides, you can easily look around it.

@@wvd07 Every time you back out of or into a spot, you crank the wheel. Or parallel parking, you also crank the wheel. Who drives in reverse in a straight line? I don't even look at my camera unless I'm checking to see the guidance lines or distance between me and what's behind me. I find using side mirrors much easier. But maybe that's just me, this generation seems to love cameras and rely on them completely 🤷♂️
This thing looks absolutely awesome. Most definitely better looking than the Telluride and Palisade without a doubt.
All these performance crossovers and SUVs is bull$#!+ we lost the Focus ST & RS for this.
im not a fan of suv's either, they generally seem to be half efforts towards building an actual off road car, kinda bigger than a family sedan but with none of the performance or economy (if thats your thing) all while not actually being very capable at off roading. A land cruiser or land rover will clearly beat any suv/crossover in pretty much everything off roading. I'd rather a nice 4 door sedan or a big classic 4x4
Yea because the supposed market changed. I honestly disagree with that reasoning. I believe the RS priced itself out of market. Even ig a persons credit is perfect I still dont see paying 35k for a hatchback. Even the mustang priced itself out of market in my opinion

The Flex is their wagon type vehicle. The Edge ST is also a small and sporty option.
The Flex is only 2 inches shorter than the Explorer and it’s being discontinued after 2020

The proportions of the Explorer are beautiful, the hood isn't as long as the rest of the mid size SUVs, and it makes it look better balanced.
12:22 there are two USB ports right there. One is a type A the other is a type C. Which is actually really cool that Ford put a type C because a lot of new phones and laptops are starting to use it.
That caught my eye too. If you have two USB-C devices, just use an adapter in the type A slot. Silly Doug.
