The only way to win is not to fight
I arrive at the scene where I have to go towards the stairs, but the game gets bugg and doesn't keep me going. ps4 I have. what can I do?
That right there don't say that
Haaaha
I think the dialogue with Odin is one of the greatest AC moments.
It shows and explaines what is like to be a human:
We do not want to be God, we do not need "wisdom, glory, immortality". We only need love, family, and friends. These are the most important things in life.
I think that is what I found most memorable from this fight as well.
Very well said
To each their own
Least memorable shit to ever come out of an AC game. Total crap.
@@Dire_Hit ok. Your opinion. Don’t spread negativity cuz it’s just ur opinion, I personally found origins the least memorable.
Odin: " With me you have wisdom! Glory! Power! What more do you need?!
Me: I need your spear so i can complete my desired builds
Mostly what I be doing on ac is collecting gear😂😂😂😂 I feel you
You can get it before facing him it's in the same area
@@Daan-Dovah only sad part is....
You're stripped of everything when you fight him.
So I guess this fight was about Odin taking over Eivor's body and Eivor fought back. I guess Odin wasn't expecting this to happen.
yeah. Basim on the other hand lost to Loki
@Ardyn Lucis Caelum Rex I yes, apparently Basim did reacht he vault and lost the fight to Loki, allowing Loki to ambush Eivor and Sigurd. Odin was expecting to beat Eivor and gain control of the body, but Eivor won and kept control
@Ardyn Lucis Caelum Rex I yeah story is great. Only the character animations let it down at times
@@jasonlal9570 And voice acting at times.
@Thomas O'Bannon It's interesting to think for how long has Basim been Loki. The only way for them to have their body taken over by the isu is to enter the world tree. This means that Basim had entered the temple and lost to Loki before he even met Sigurd and Eivor. I think from the very beginning Basim's body was already taken over by Loki. It explains why Hytham was confused when Basim was being so generous to Eivor and Sigurd. Basim didn't introduce Eivor and Sigurd to the creed because he wanted to, but because it was Loki trying to get closer to Odin and Tyr to take revenge
There's nothing like attacking Odin with a hidden blade
A leviathan axe would be a nice
@@joelturner5957 it would do nothing. I’d go for the blades of chaos.
@@thunderstormstudios7104 leviathan axe is technically stronger than blades of chaos but I agree with u
ThunderStorm Studios will see in the next god of war I hope 😉🤟
@@tylernordlinger3207 it did nothing in Hel, I think the same applies to Odin. Maybe, it will work on Thor, but not Odin.
Kratos: “Sneak attacks? Hidden weapons? What is this?.....BOY!!!.....Bring me my Axe.”
As I read through this and got to BOY!!! my natural instinct was to say it like kratos I’m guessing others had the same experience 😂
Kratos : BOI?
Eivor show up
GOD OF WAR LOGO SHOW UP
@Dawn Of Judgment I know where it came from 😂 that was a great youtube skit.
I arrive at the scene where I have to go towards the stairs, but the game gets bugg and doesn't keep me going. ps4 I have. what can I do?
"and the blades"
Next Assassin Creed were are gonna be fighting Jesus Christ
God, what did they do with AC?
Be ready to level grind before facing Jesus.
He has autoressurect spell.
Has powerful holy magic and has a deadly summon spell, The 12 Apostles 😉
We already fought the pope
hahahaha... facing J.C would one hit and ur desynchronized damn...
@Jay Swannell You can't kill Jesus.
5:19 seriously some of the cutscenes in the story mode are such kickass moments! So happy the way the story ended in the game and kudos to Ubi and all actors.
I couldn't agree more. This is probably the best story in AC for a long time, and I'm saying that as someone who can't stand vikings!
What’s the music playing here?
@Konrad Crear it’s called “Leaving Valhalla”
Sometimes I miss the old Assassins Creed but I will give credit where credit is due , this is the closest to the old assassins creed before the ancient trigology
I'm personally glad we got the new games in this format. Feels more fresh. Also, the reason why I play these games is to learn more about ISU. Loving it.
@@Axor993 Good for you man
idk man the new Assassins creed doesnt feel much like Assassin ish ?Charging at foes screaming with a bloody axe, its feels odd :/.
@@Axor993
Fresh? Can I have your dealers Tel number! This game's design is as stale as it is tired. Not even Norse mythology can hide that fact.
@@TheSmurf1973 fresh in comparison to ac 1, 2, BH, revelations, 3, BF and so on. I played these so much that seeing a new mechanic made it feel fresh to me. Obviously, this is not the best RPG style game, in fact, it's far from it.
Odin in literally any other peice of fiction: The Allfather God of Asgard
Odin in Valhalla:
Some hobo with a crow
Odin is literally some hobo with crow, he likes to roam midgard like that
Looks like someone doesn't know their norse mythology.
Odin in god of war: Buffed as fuck
Odin is just like Zeus, who like to roam the mortal land as an old hobo. Old hobo with eagle & old hobo with ravens.
@Cynical that's thoroughly irrelevant with the main topic
I really love this fight, because in order to 'win' it, you have to reject all the toxic ideals Odin's been trying to put in Eivor's head the whole game, and in doing so, you emulate Eivor's father, throwing down the same axe, even.
wow i didnt think about the axe. darby mcdevitt needs to write every AC game. i dont care if i have to wait 3 years between each one
And then eivor proceeds to kill as many people as possible throughout england
@@Splaterson92 I heard that he is currently working on AC HEXE.
With me you have glory, power. What more do you need?
Everything else.
This game's dialogue is off the chain it has some of the best in any videogame. That scene with Basim by the campfire is perfect.
factual
Yea that scene was so natural and intriguing
Honestly man, I would've went with Odin. Guy seems like a badass, fake or not
@@Destroyer_Of_Rats yeah so would I
Took me longer than I’d like to admit to figure out that I had to unequip my axe 😅
Game was like "dude just unequip that weapon"
@Mike Marlowe Maybe you were in mid-animation or something
Only figured it out when I heard Sigurd say “Drop your axe” yet I still had no clue what to do after that. AC has always been a convoluted masterpiece
I figured it out but the game didn't let me unequip the axe before letting me know that I had to unequip it. It was annoying
I love this boss fight for many reasons and some of my reasons were from my experiences
1. When I first got to this , I didn’t know that you were suppose to let him beat you once, I just kept on dodging and attacking to the point I had to look up a guide to the fight
2. I love how eivor finally realized there is more than just power and glory, without friends and family, you’ll be left all by yourself in eternal combat without end
3. The way that eivor had to throw away the axe , just like how his father did to protect him, eivor learned that sometimes it’s best not to fight for the sake of others, even if they don’t understand, cause they’ll learn eventually
4. The Valhalla the Odin was trying to force eivor into was like a twisted image of actual Valhalla, so I believe the actual Valhalla is a place not only warriors, but for people who put others before them, to the point of sacrificing themselves for others. To me, that’s not cowardly, that’s honor
I didn't even watch the video,I paused and searched the section.
I'm glad I came across your comment & this video, I'm currently facing Odin now & I'm lvl 401. I have the healing factors on with the abilities that automatically heals you, I've been dodging and dodging and dodging his attacks & trying to defeat him like a fool.
1st clue is that he doesn't even have a life bar ,I just paused my game now. I appreciate you guys help
Don’t like how Odin became the “bad guy”, after everything you see during the time in Asgard and the build up. Plus Odin realizing he has to protect his friends and family in the end, giving his eye to the well in order to make them sages. None of it showed any ounce of evil and it showed Odin was a wise Isu and wanted a chance to stop Ragnarok and fate from leading to the catastrophe again. Odin and Eivor should have merged together as one and equal.
those are the fake stories all ISU enslaved humankind and pretend to be gods
I take it you've never played God of War...
@@VegetaHimself loved GOW and that game was gold, did perfect in making the bad guys. AC builds up the characters and Eivors memories (Asgard) even though it’s actually Isu are still Odins memories. Even in real lore Odin is made more to be human and even likes the humans, and a lot of dialogue points to that in AC Valhalla. The developers have character development everywhere and stories mixed. It’s like separate people worked on separate things and never communicated with each other.
@Ardyn Lucis Caelum Rex I there’s a secret ISU ending that sheds some light on the aesir story.
This is just Odin doing what he thinks is right. You can even see him trying to explain it to Eivor
So le me get this straight. Basim wants to kill eivor for killing his son during a past life? So Basim's story is a revenge one? Like ezio, but we're introduced to him as an antagonist.
To be honest, the amount of times Ubisoft uses the revenge card is a bit... tiring. Almost like they don't know how to create characters with ambitions who aren't looking for some form of payback
well yes and no. loki ( basim) thinks that odin took over eivors mind like he took over basims. He doesn't know that Eivor killed odin in his own mind
Well yes but no
I dont think basim is there during that fight, mentally i mean. Its moreso like its loki (whos in control of his reincarnated body) whos trying to exact revenge on odin but is actually exacting it on eivor
Hard to explain but tldr
Loki is in complete control over basim
Loki wants revenge on eivor/odin for what happened to fenrir
@@rojaedavis8367 AC - not a revenge story

That's not a lot of revenges. I'm not speaking about the AC Stories games as I haven't played them.
@@kiddhkane I meant Ubisoft games in general. You hardly ever find a Ubisoft game where the main character isn't out for blood because someone wronged them rather than simply having aspiring ambitions. Hell, the very origins of the assassins is a revenge story

I was having an emotional day and decided to finish the story. I ended up continuing with the crying my eyes out when Eivor denied Odin like that. No real reason to cry but thats what happens when youre on the verge of a breakdown and a slightly sad thing happens in a game.
😐
🤡
I feel you! I just played this part of game last night and I felt that this scene was very emotional. The beautiful ost Leaving Valhalla playing in the background while Eivor tries to get back to their family and friends really tops it off
Do me, the saddest parts in the game were this and the scene where Halfdan kills Faravid.
This guy behaves more like a Loki then Odin.
Odin was kind of a sneaky dick in myth though. Even still, this games characterisation of him is whack
@@An_Inconvenience that's cause this isn't technically Odin
Actually it is like how Odin was in the myths. Dude was more of a trickster god like Loki. Using deceit and trickery to gain all the knowledge of the realm. Its just now a days people like to portray him like Zeus and God with a capital G.
@Mike Marlowe yeah, he does. Trust me. I binge mythology. And Odin was always sneaky and power hungry. Dude literally gave his eye, for the mysteries of the universe in the myths. Marvel got him all wrong.
Odin was tha bad guy in the ISU storyline not loki
This is one of, if not the best video game scenes of all time. Which is a given being the best video game and best soundtrack of all time.

So eivor won his inner fight with the mind of odin while basim lost and is now fully loki the isu in his body
yeah
ye but why he joined assasins and still freindly with them at ending

@@jasonlal9570 no i mean why basim is friendly with the assasins in the future with shaun and Rebecca...they know hes loki
Angshuman Baruah
Oh they know he's Loki they're probably just trying to figure out how to defeat him and to defeat him they'll need a Thor
Basically, cuz odin was reincarnated, rather than a sage, his human conciousness (eivor), it conflicts with his isu conciousness (odin) becuse he is in a human body rather than an isu body, and it basically creates a weird kind of split personality type thing
Correct me if I'm wrong. When Basim says that it was Eivor he wanted all along, it means he thought Sigurd was Odin, right? When he was actually Tyr
Perhaps
I think it’s because the wolf bite concealed the isu mark on eivor
Yep. Loki(Basim) thought Sigurd was Odin reincarnated. But after everything, he realized that Eivor(canonically female) is Odin's reincarnation, and didn't know until after all the nonsense. Plus, it was obvious from the voice that Tyr and Sigurd voices were indeed the same.
Yes
Sigurd and Svala: “Anything can be a reality in Valhalla!”
The grass: “Oh sick! I can stab through Eivor’s chest and face!”

@@jacktheripper6079 agreed, they let the whole ancient civilization thing become too much of what the games show nowadays... no need to explain every little thing from the past, just give us new exciting stories
The good ol’ days when history actually mattered. When every character, place and building had its own entry with it’s actual history and even dates were exact. Nowadays Ubisoft is like, here, get high as a kite and FIGHT THE GODS
@@ADMG if you think about it, we were indeed fight a god. those ancient civilization is the god. it's just that, the new AC is a lot more focused on that or too focused depending on your opinion. It explains viking's history too.

Now I get it, its Loki from the first civilization, wanting revenge for his son, because Odin was against mixed breeding between humans and isu
Loki didn't breed with a human though. Angrboda was an Isu. He hates Odin because Odin killed his son, Fenrir.
Hold up Odin fights Eivor.
I have a plan
HAVE SOME GOD DANM FAITHHHH
We only need more MUNEH
Odin wanted to go to Tahiti
Soon he’ll be harvesting mangos in tihti
Odin: No please don't fire me! If you do I gotta go back to Santa Monica and there is a bald lunatic and his kid waiting to rip me apart!
The music hits hard
The end really reminds me of the AC 2 intro, brothers
This pretty much proves that even gods can be greedy and try to control you
Except Odin was never a god. He was an Isu pretending to be a god to manipulate Eivor
Can't wait for this to arrive in the mail on Friday!! Looks so dope.
Why would u watch the game ending and then play the game?
It’s going to hurt more when a bald guy with beard will attack with blade of exiles

Loki which basim was such a brat
Also isn’t thor and Loki the sons of odin
@@therealbrendanc9905 loki is an oath Brother to odin...not his son...forget mcu nonsense
It's both. Eivor is a reincarnation of Odin, an Isu, but didn't succumb to his psyche, despite Odin's efforts to influence Eivor over the course of the game. Eivor breaks free of both Odin, and the toxic ideals he represents.
Eivor should kill Basim early here
Now Basim is a life from the staff
If eivor was in animus for a long time then layla come went to animus then eivor will hold the staff that will.be cool
I literally flight for 40 minutes before I had to google it. What a weird but original way to win lol
Wish eivor didn't reject his past isu life and instead became one. Would have made the fight with basim/loki more climatic and personal

I’m ready to go toe to toe with Buddha Siddartha Guatama in Assassin’s Creed India.
Next couple of games are going to be about Basim(Loki) finding his children, using the assassins to find more Isu sites/vaults, terraforming the earth and enslaving humanity with pieces of eden.
Not really: If he did that, Loki would be no better than Odin.
@@jorgebersabe293 Kinda makes sense in a way, only because of how Loki and Alethia referred to him as the “Mad One” but Norse Myth has us believing that Loki is the trickster, so we’ll see where it goes.

Eivor: not you, who are you again? I'm talking to sigurd! Shut yer trap
Are we still playing Assasin's Creed? What happen to all the Sci Fi elements and good ole assassinating?

Everything is sci-fi ish here if you know the whole story.
@Never gonna give you cheese :V
@Never gonna give you cheese actually shadow of morder is copy of assassins creed, and without playing dont say anything, this game is far far far different from god of war, just because its based on norse mythology it doesn't mean its copy of god of war, coz god of war makers are not the only one who can make games based on norse mythology they are not owners of that ok, so stfu and move if you dont like dont say its like that game that game that game, first fuckin play man.
This is actually still sci-fi when you consider the fact that all the gods in Eivor’s acid trip is just a bunch of Nordic Isu who did something similar to what Juno did with Aita and uploaded their consciousnesses to be reincarnated into humans. This is just mostly symbolism for Eivor fully managing to repress Odin/Havi (his ‘past life’), while Basim failed and fully became Loki.
That was a really good scene. What's the music in the background?
It's called "Leaving Valhalla"
Heh... I love how Sigurd looses his Arm just like Odin's own brother Tyr. Great parallel. Lol
Plus, Basim being an Assassin & getting possessed by Loki... God of Illusions, Tricks... etc. Ooooh.. Boi, Talk about a disadvantages combination! XD

The mission called a brother keeper will pop up and you go to Norway in the mission and once you're there, Sigurd will take you to the cave but when he does you need to go left when he goes right and there should be a crack you squeeze through and grab the spear and continue with the mission. Hope that made sense.
Sooo did basim (Loki) really have a wolf son? Or am I missing something. This whole thing is a little confusing to me since I'm guessing Odin was an old isu that killed his son? Idk this is a little hard to wrap my head around
apparently completing all the anomalies in the game unlocks a bonus hidden video that explains things better- basically as i understand it, odin, valhalla and such were technologically advanced isus that used the same reincarnation/rebirth method as those used by the sages in previous titles, but because Eivor is a backwards savage compared to them they wrap everything up in tales of mysticism and magic to make it easier for his mind to process the truth
basically, a lot of what you see in the valhalla segments is heavily metaphorical and distorted to make it easier for Eivor to understand the gist of what happened to Odin and such, so most of it should be taken with a grain of salt that it's not literally what happened, but more a metaphorical re-telling of how things happened
@@lachlancarter1707 ahh okay thank you, it's hard to understand this new mythical lore that ubi is doing with the isu and sometimes it becomes a little much. I was honestly thinking Lokis kid was another hybrid wolf thing like we saw in odyssey during the last episode of the fate of atlantis dlc. Kinda wish the whole isu arc would take a back seat and let the story focus on the assassin and templar war
@@TheRyno95 sadly, the closer along we progress the modern age storyline, the more they interfere in the plot
I think that Fenrir was the son of Loki and Alethia along with the World snake and Hela. They were either creations of them or hybrids. Either way Odin and the others saw them as monsters especially Fenrir. Odin and Tyr managed to fight and imprison Fenrir but it cost Tyr his arm. Later during the Cataclysm caused by the Solar Flare Odin was killed by Fenrir who escaped. How Fenrir and his siblings are alive in the Modern day I do not know.
I think its a metaphor and i think loki might be on the side of humanity. the wolf might be a human god hybrid or something. remember loki is not born in asgard as the other gods/isu were. The twists are yet to come in the following series. People forget but the norse gods were kind of bad and selfish
Thank you for the spoil. Hum, I mean thanks youtube not your fault anyway. We definitly need an option to tick "contain spoil" and something around this.
Pretty salty tbh :(
i mean, you literally clicked on this video
@@Merlinthehappypig so what? I stopped it right when I clicked. The spoil is in the title
this is not Odin as he is represented here
Isnt Eivor literally the reincarnation of Odin.
Yes
Anthony Hopkins is my odin lol
So... Odin is an Isu, right?
Yep
@Jafaar Jafaar basically an Isu is an incredibly ancient and advanced relative to humanity
Thousands of years ago they made mankind as tools and slaves but a great cataclysm wiped them out, leaving the Earth for mankind
Although the Isu left echoes of their empire, including their very conscious (as seen here)
They inspired the gods of mythology
Yep
To my understanding he used the same ability as Aita to become a Sage and reincarnated into Eivor
This to my knowledge is what’s left of Odin trying to take Eivor’s body for himself
@Jafaar Jafaar no worries
AC lore gets crazy as hell
@@ItsButterBean1020 Too bad people just stumble on vids like this and think the gods are actually real and how this has no connection to AC when it’s arguably one of the most important games lore wise
They forget to give Odin a stained tank top and Budweiser.
I don't know the full story of this game but if it is anything like previous assasins then we're playing as very nicely skilled assassin who is a mortal human being so for him to even challenge Odin is a little far fetched lol I can see Kratos battling Odin and Thor in next God of WAR but this guy shouldn't stand a chance against the almighty Odin
It isn’t the real Odin
If it’s anything like previous assassins games you wouldn’t be so lost in understanding it. I’m guessing you never played past a couple
@@09antonioprz I mean I didn't play odyssey but I did play origins and the guy was also just a guy and we battled some Egyptian God at some point but that was side quest if I remember right and I also thought it was dumb..
this is not technically an actual fight. Its a fight taken place in Eivor's mind.
@@smrutimanmohanty7780 ok this makes more sense
i want comparisons now, some comparison videos with god of war vs ac valhalla, that would be awesome, and when it transitions from ac valhalla to god of war it will be BREATHTAKING
He fights himself 🤣
Valhalla has strong vibes from Black Flag, too many similarities and parallels
Especially with Sages being so prominent like with Black Bart
That's what I was thinking. Probably because it's the same team? I get strong Edward Kenway vibes from Male Eivor too.
@@AquilaTempestas the writer of BF was the narrative designer in this also.
It is possible that eivor is a ancestor of edward they are the only two blond haired characters in assassin creed as well as that it hase been said that edward might possibly have some norse background
good thing I fought him like a retard for 10 mins wondering why nothing happens, until I got the idea to unequip the axe -.-
Odin sucks and I was demolishing him wondering why he doesnt die. He should have much deadlier comboes to make you wanna escape really. I would be able to battle him for eternity due to lifesteal of my spear overhealing all his damage.
It also isn't a proper boss fight if you just ... run away from it ... and he cant kill you
From al mulam to bloody Odin
Cany anyone explain to me how we have norse mythology in ac now? Last game I played was brotherhood.
So im very behind.
Go back to Brotherhood. And try out Revelations. Happier days
Eivor is a sage, he's waging a battle against the isu Odin who lives in his head that way he can leave the simulation that keeps Odin alive
Like Minerva in AC2 and Juno in Brotherhood, Odin is from the First Civ.
Unlike MCU and God of war, the norse gods are looking rather comedic in this game.
