The mounting is the problem, screws has to be in perfect alignment, else won't fit. Should have furnished screws with smaller heads for a little more tolerance. I have 12 of those, if put it outside easy to steal without modification.

I have another style of solar lights from same brand, they are 2yrs old. They are holding well. About 6yrs back I got some solar lights(don't know which brand they are) from Costco, even after 6yrs they work perfectly About 8 hours each day.
It's not the light fixture it's the crappy Chinese battery. Actually a few of those Chinese batteries are pretty good but many are junk dead right out of the box. Replace with Panasonic eneloop or equal quality.

They seem to be holding up pretty good. They turn at about 8pm and off around 5am
