Your extensive SF4 tutorial that includes chains, links, confirms and how frame data works is how I learned fighting games and I enjoy them so much more because of that. I skipped playing SFV but now that I’m back playing SF6 all the things you taught helped ease me back in and from that time on I had been able to apply everything you taught to other games. I just wanted to express my appreciation to you Vesper. As much as I like Dood there’s no way you don’t deserve credit for that tech. I’m calling it VRush.
You didn’t miss anything by skipping SFV , all those tips wouldn’t apply , welcome back. I took a break from 4-6 also I’m glad to be playing street fighter again like it’s my side chick
Hi Vesper, Just a quick message to say I really love how you explain even the most advanced things in simple non-patronising way. It is very well done and very appreciated.
The receipts detective part was hilarious haha, funny thing is that prolly all exp players found it on their own, is not rocket science people! Thanks for the content vesper
Hello Vesper, Even after months, amazing resource, thanks from France! I watch and re-watch many or your guides and get better step by step, every day (or feeling like, lol) Take care :)
Vesper, I've been waiting for you to make this video! Only you could make a video so easy to understand! The reason I was able to stand a fighting chance in SFV was because I watched your videos! Keep up the great work!
Hey Vesper, I was a fanatic of your SF4 tutorials and got high ranked enough to compete locally. I skipped SF5 due to life etc. Now I'm back on SF6, and your masterful explanations of things got me back on board quickly. Thank you for what you're doing and keeping it real always.
You are a godsend, dude. I was sorta kicking fools into the curb without it, but from Silver upwards folks was putting me down with combos I couldn't answer to cause I just couldn't figure it out for the life of me. This will help my combo game something fierce. Let's have fun everyone 😁
Vesper, been a fan since the SF4 tutorial! your Honda piano tutorial is amazing and helped me learn how to consistently get thousand hand combos. so glad to see you still doing this kind of detailed content
As someone who just really got serious into sf with 6, THANK YOU for this video. I'm going through the classic controls growing pains, working my way back up to bronze 5 with luke....and this video was a piece of tech that kept getting used on me, that I had no idea how to do.
Absolutely a very valuable video. Very descriptive. I knew how to use drive gauge a little, but this just blew my mind of how little I knew. Now, I feel like I can win EVO (joking of course. I'll just be a walking body bag). Great job!!!🎉
Hey Vesper. Great guide. I was late to SF4 and missed 5 completely. Had this game and a PS5 for 2 weeks and loving your coverage. Drive rush suddenly makes sense 😅
DR also changes juggles for the follow-up attacks. Jamie's d+KK launcher normally can't be followed by a jumping HK, but if you Rush into the launcher the HK will connect as well.
The perfect drive rush technique is literally Jiyuna's tech. Yes, there are receipts, he made a video about it. Jiyuna bros are calling it the J-rush. Give credit where credit is due and don't claim it your own and give the person who found it some respect.
The issue for drive rush with me is that I have mastered doing it "raw" for the most part, but not on hit. I play on a stick and I find it very hard to actually go left or right twice really fast. I check my inputs and I see an arrow going straight and an arrow going diagonally low and down. So it's the most challenging mechanic for me in the game, but with more time and practice I should get it.
Yeah drive rush mid combo on stick has been real tricky for me. Ive found i need to do the first forward motion befor i hit the move fkr it to come out.
@@azada83 That's a good habit to get into for any cancel. Buffering your motion inputs before you finish the input on confirm is one of the harder, but still fundamental skills when it comes to execution.
We have the Character Combo Guides, however, can you do Character Guides in this format. Where you illustrate their archetype, normals/specials tips and where you’d use certain combos. I think this would be great for beginners.
I did not think I was going to get anything from this, but I was dying on Kimberly’s trial 11. I could NOT get the TC to come out. It would always start on Mp. It’s that wonky buffering after the dash in the DoodRush you mentioned. It was eating my input because I was too fast. Thanks
4:35 master maybe not all of them but pro players? Absolutely. Not only does it conserve bar it has 0 tell. You get no blue flash. Every. Frame. Matters.
Hey, just a request. I’m trying out lots of characters and one thing I really need that I’m assuming others would, is a quick combo guide for max damage with meter, without, in corner, and with super. Like just the B&B’s. Lights, etc I can lab, but it’d be nice to have a quick reference guide to speed up getting ready for ranked with a new character. Thanks for all you do.
Especially the second half of this video was fire info, if you already have the opponent juggling, don't DR cancel, just DR into a button that now has juggle properties... LOVE that... and It shed light on when to use Ken's Run/Stop vs attempting a fake DR on knockdown (which I've been victim to multiple times) Am I the only one debating on using my P5 scuf impact (or pad in general) over my stick? I haven't played a fighting game w/ a Pad since DOA on the Xbox lol... I always felt games like UMvC3 is button heavy, button dash etc... so It's really helpful to utilize those Sanwa Denshi, Stick was more for directional placement, but in SF type game etc, >> is a button press essentially on a directional pad, therefore less deadzone on a switch gate (square gate) I guess It's going to come down to how many "Buttons" per second I can utilize 5 fingers w/ vs just my right thumb (I don't claw) Most of the newer/ players in my club are using Hitbox, I bought one years ago, never felt right... Tiger Knee Tatsu w/ Ken, Instant Air jump MP into dive kick confirm w/ Juri is why I've stuck w/ the stick so far, it's just less likely I mess that sort of motion up, but this game is SOMEHOW faster, but requires less button presses "Per 3 seconds" if you will... or does it? I'm all f'd up trying to decide....
I switched to pad because of how important dash inputs and down, down are but doing TK Dive kicks feel tough with Cammy. So it comes down to what you're comfortable with and which character you're playing. We still have pro players using every type of controller.
@@VesperArcade right right... This Ken, I need to Master (no pun intended) But Juri and Deejay are my second and 3rd... I want a Dudley, Adon, Goken, Akuma, Fei Long lol... mann... Bring this games mechanics w/ those characters? Oh my things will heat up!
Don't know if it's useful and probably something that was discovered months ago but I haven't heard much: just as you can do the Dood Rush by fwd+parry > fwd, instead of doing cancellable normal > fwdx2, you can do fwd+normal > fwd.
Out of curiosity, can you map the standard dashes to buttons? I have a very difficult time with pressing the same direction twice, physically, so dashes have never been possible (you can imagine how big a deficit that was) and as such haven't bought SF6. But if i could map it to a button, that would open the door.
I had problems with the second button after the drive rush, ex: with ryu: drive rush, smp, then shp wont come out even though frame wise it should maybe its because its very small window but even for a different button with more leniency on the frame window it wont come out
I don't know that anyone gets to claim discovery of tech like F, F + Mediums. Definitionally someone found it first, but it will be nearly impossible to figure out who. I'm just some random gold scrub and I found it myself in the open beta. It seemed obvious to try so you could eliminate or reduce the blue flash to give the opponent less time to react. In fact, if memory serves, I was watching Max when that clip was recorded. I think someone asked him if that input worked which prompted the clip in the first place. Undoubtedly hundreds or thousands of players found this in rapid succession, just most don't have a TH-cam following.
1:53 one thing I did learn, from neutral, if you press foward once, and then press the parry and the forward again. So instead of Parry-forward-forward, it becomes forward-parry+foward, as far as I know, it’s the fastest way to DR from neutral
The problem with pressing the button immediately after dr is if the character has a forward normal compared to the standing normal you want you will get the forward normal.
What I want to understand is, why, even when I'm anticipating someone doing drive rush into buttons, even my fastest buttons don't come out to check it?

Awesome V-Rush video bro! lol definitely helpful tips here keep ‘em coming!
Lol that receipt thing is funny. On the other hand I think max does use the “vesper rush” as his rule
I can't believe i was pushing parry to drive rush cancel this whole time and i didnt need to. What a rube i am. Thanks Vesper.

Thanks so much for the juggle drive tip. I would manually do it and time it as best as possible.
With the vesper rush its like the v system never went away
I’m here was the DR weakness segment. I been letting way to many people DR on me when I could just button/special them out. Thanks Vesper!
Dude holding the Parry during the move is a freaking game changer. Thank you so much Vesper
Thanks for all the help, Vesper… your guides and tips are awesome. GGs!!

I macro my parry button on the face buttons.
DR on a pad is infinitely easier than on stick.
As on stick you have to wait for the stick to return to neutral, which often fucks me up.
and even easier on keyboard
Absolutely.

Thanks needed help on this one. I keep getting sonic booms when I try to dr. Starting to learn to have the stick in neutral when I dr.
DR also changes juggles for the follow-up attacks. Jamie's d+KK launcher normally can't be followed by a jumping HK, but if you Rush into the launcher the HK will connect as well.
Same for Ken’s MP + Hp target combo.
You can rush into his heavy punch then finish with a shoryuken.

I just wanna know why I can't combo into Hondas st.hp from a drive rush move that has enough plus frames to allow a combo
Can you be more specific on the combo? I would assume it's because Hondas hand swings really wide so it takes longer for it to hit in front of him.
