- With Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6, Larian has made it easier to recruit Minthara. You can even trigger this event now while defending the Druid Grove. This video will show you how.
Recruit Minthara by knocking her out in Shattered Sanctum and how to rescue her after she's been taken to the dungeons and tortured.

There is no need to attack the Grove. You can do the following, but the important part is - do not use long rest while cleaning up the goblin camp, otherwise Minthara will be dead in Act 2
1) destroy the flying orb by pushing it into abyss
2) knock down Minthara with non-lethal attack
3) Free Halsin and Kill everyone else. Including all guys outside. Go away from the goblin camp, talk to Halsin and do a long rest. Do not return to goblin camp again.
4) Save Minthara in Act 2
If you want to romance her:
1) Agree with her in dialogs during act 2 to improve the reputation
2) Start a romance in the beginning of Act 3, when she will directly ask you about it.
This way you can romance anyone else to not be bored in Act 1 and 2 plus Minthara in Act 3, but you will have to break your first relationship in the beginning of Act 3. This will result in quite cold relations with the first companion, but they won't leave your party. Also there is supposed to be a romance scene with Minthara in Act 3, but it's not finished. There is literally a dialog, when she says "I will come to you tonight" and then nothing happens. Not to mention a lot of delusional Minthara comments about Act 3 events while you're still in Act 2. Larian should really fix this
Ill write a summary of what to do here basically a TLDW (this guide is mainly for honor mode players since we cant save scum)
ACT 1---
get marked/or not
get the witch branding leader in a room and close the door
silence and kill
ignore razlin (starting a fight with him aggros the entire camp)
go to minthara
speak to minthara
lure her to druid grove (new addition to patch 6)
*rescue helsin first before returning to grove
ask him how can i help/ask him to meet at the grove) (mandem straight up bounces)
------------------LONG REST-------------------
fast travel to grove
get mistaken for bloody goblins
prep the field (oil/smoke barrels alchemist fire/grease bottles)
blow horn
minthara cutscene select option 2 (grove is under my protection)
keep minthara last lady standing
toggle non lethal attack passive AND MELEE ATTACK
get her lyre (take her armor and garments and something magical happens in act 2
talk to halsin and punish sifisiv lady (kagha)
long rest party
get to act 2 basically either by the back of goblin camp/creche
under dark route is risky since you have to navigate there WITHOUT kassandra's fight so please do yourself a favor complete underdark stuff and go by the creche
ACT 2------
go by the creche entrance
meet spider boy by playing the lyre minthara had
kill harpers during ambush
get to moonrise and save her

now this is a theory where it can honestly waste your time but im doing it
follow act 1 guide up till choosing how to get to the shadow cursed lands
do what you want and go to the underdark/grymforge/shadow cursed lands
go do kassandra's fight
join the harpers the whole 9 yards

minthara's great escape from jail
you indeed get different dialogue with saving Sazza just say you will get it done and you will get your reward

Do you have to kill the harpers? Or do you just kill them because it's the quickest way to see of Minthara is still alive?

"Easier." Still annoyingly convoluted. Minthara is a super interesting character that's in high demand. I wish they would make it still more straightforward.
True! Haha. I don't know how though. The original intention was that she'll only join evil characters and can't be recruited until Act 2 due to the game's storyline.
@@MrGeeBee34 I think just knocking her out instead of killing her at any point before the party being the only requirement would be easiest way. Story wise this doesn't affect anything else the player would do afterwards since they're eventually going to show up in Moonrise Towers anyway. So it'd be a simple case of
1. If she's alive she's there or
2. If she's dead she's not

Yeah, I wish there was a way when you meet her to make her question her allegiance to the Absolute like maybe showing her what happened to you on the Nautiloid through the tadpole.
She could even remain suspicious of you at first but desire to find out if she's been led astray and after Moonrise see that you were right and offer to join you permanently to take down those who decieved her. They could even give her a companion quest to end the person who infected and indoctrinated her.
Recruiting her doesn't really change the endings of the story except for side things like romance anyway. In the main quest whether you play a good or bad Tav you still have to take out the 3 chosen regardless and choose what to do about the big bad.
@@MrGeeBee34 I know people don’t like a game holding their hands but in this case maybe one of your companions gives you a verbal cue something like Karlach or someone saying how she might prove valuable later and maybe we should subdue her instead of killing her… Just a hunch she has or something, Followed by the nonlethal KO pop-up. It then becomes the players choice if they want to kill her or not
Bro this has nothing on when I tried to romance the Wenduag in Pathfinder. But its still super annoying not knowing if you're on the right path til act 2

Edit: When I feel bad about making sure Halsin is the only one in camp for Orin to kidnap, I remember him strutting in after the fighting was over...

@@MrGeeBee34 It's a small thing but I'd wish that in this scenario he'd come bloodied and with missing hp saying something akin to: "I stayed at the back and dealt with some of their reinforcements while you defended the main gate". As he is know it's like he was hiding and feels hillarious.
stupid question. i think i missed it, but at the end you're just checking to see if minthara will be there right? and then you just reload your previous save?
I did this the same but in different order the only thing I did different was I save halsin first befor talking to minthara is that okay?
The method I use to get to Moonrise quickly is to use the Grymforge entrance, equip a torch, ungroup from my party and then use an invisibility potion to avoid the Harper ambush. Run down to the spot where you rescue Rolan (It's near a broken bridge that leads to the Moonrise Docks). Use the Fly spell via potion or scroll and then run into the heavy shadowcurse barrier and you'll be forced into turn-based mode. Dash and Fly over the bridge towards the light where the guard is posted. Takes about 2 minutes and you don't need a moonlantern.
Yeah funny thing is I knocked out Minthara, I see her in Moonrise tower in front of Ketheric, but when I enter the dialog the cut scene is if Minthara was killed.
This right here. It's almost as if the game still recognizes her being alive, but one of the values in the codes is set to 0 when it comes to dialogs and conversations involving her. I'm assuming the developers fixed the issue of the game not recognizing her as dead when you knock her out, preventing many from accomplishing the main Act 1 quest. So they lazily changed that value and didn't bother to look into the others regarding her being alive.
I’m in currently in act 2 I recruited her now Cerys keeps showing up in my fights I have no idea how to fix this I’m on Xbox with no mods
But when did you kill Dror Ragzlin to complete the quest? or was he part of the attack on the grove and was killed there?
I didn't kill Dror in this video but you can always go back for him. Repelling the attack on the grove will complete the quest even if he's still alive.
Do you have to kill the Harpers or can you turn on the drider and/or find the Harpers first to get Isobel’s blessing.. THEN go to Moonrise?
You can side with the Harpers, yes. I killed them in the vid because I wanted to reach the towers quickly.
I usually knock her out at the goblin camp and later find her at Moonrise. Although I have to try fighting her at the grove next.
Actually that's a much easier way of doing it. I'm only showing this method because it's added with patch 6.
It’s actually easier at the Grove, there are so many things that can go wrong back at the goblin camp to make you not get her at the Grove, all you have to do is non lethally KO her and it’s guaranteed I guess the only concern is one of the tieflings accidentally killing her but I’ve tried it four times and have never had that happen
I did it this way too but she was still at the Grove ready to fight after I took a long rest completely naked lol
Yeah per example, i did everything at the goblin camp and failed to see her at Moonrise Tower
@@RambleBeard she is flagged in the “kill the goblin leaders” quest and the game failed to properly remove her. Did you kill the other two? If not, she won’t be removed from that quest until you do. Convince her to join you at the Grove, long rest so she’s placed there and removed from the goblin camp, Kill the other two then go to the Grove, betray her and KO her. Even though she’s knocked out she’s considered dead for the quest purposes. The easiest way to tell if that quest is still active is talking to Halsin, basically tells you you need to kill them before he can do anything else
Are Minthara and Halsin at the same time at the camp? Can I recruite both ?

Can I go back to the creche and do its content after recruiting Minthara at the tower?
Yes, but Minthara won't follow you there. She'll say she'll remain in the shadow cursed lands.

The route of doing it in the goblin camp works as well. I have never had any issues with that method. Thing is with doing it at the grove you have to make sure all the Tieflings live for them to show up later. I usually attack the floating eye to instigate the fight. To do that you can talk to Minthara before just don't do it with Saza or tell her you will help or tell her the grove location. I usually deal with Minthara first if my avatar is an elf as the potion to get knocked out by the priestess doesn't work on elves and it starts a fight that will piss off the hafling vendor just outside her room. I usually leave her for last and use smoke powder barrels on Razgolin. On Balanced 3 is enough to outright kill him. Just pass the mindflayer questioning scene. If you manage to be asking the questions yourself, you can deflect around questioning who killed it to the very last question. He will be upset he didn't get his answers but will not attack you. Once he sits in his throne you can place a barrel to his right and left and one in front of him and then use a fire arrow or fire spell to touch it off. From a safe distance of course. A good vantage point is the raised balcony to his right.
What happens it instead of killing gut directly i triggered the scene where i get convicted?
Nearby enemies will join the fight but you can continue normally after defeating them.

No. I killed them in the vid to get to the tower quickly.

Yup. It also works if you KO priestess gut.
I did the old method by attacking Minthara head on. She had the 'temporarily hostile' and she was knocked out (temporarily) but her body went missing after a long rest 😭
That should be fine. KO'ed enemies will wake up after you rest.

She's knocked out properly but disappears the moment I get the killing blow on Dror Ragzlin and the "temp hostile" status is removed from everyone.
She don't need to be temporarily hostile anymore. A simple KO is now enough. As Long she is with 1 HP on the Ground
Heard that if you recruit her this way, you can't romance her, is that true? In this run I wanted to do it, but I don't know if is possible :/
You can properly romance her only if you helped her attack Druid Grove.

I bugged the game because i eliminated all the goblins and druids. It wouldn't let me talk to Zevlor or Halsin. So even when i saved all the refugees they all still died somehow.
I think the tieflings will still be attacked in Act 2 regardless of which path you took.
@MrGeeBee34 I mean, all of them are gone, even dammon, I saved them from the druid attack. But they didn't show up at last light inn.
Did minthara wake up after long rest or she disappeared?
She'll disappear when KO'd in Druid Grove. In Shattered Sanctum she'll wake up.

I've tried this but Sazza wasn't there, only Minthara.
Is Halsin still recruitable this way?
Yes, he is.
But does this still allow you to romance her?
recruiting ability will auto unlock the ability to romance until you lost enough rep for any companion in this case minthara to leave

Can you do this and save zassa?
Haven't tried saving Sazza and then raiding the Grove. But saving Sazza and knocking out Minthara in Shattered Sanctum works.
She is still knock out in Moonrise wont even started her quest to save her

Easier in the sense that they fixed most of the bugs that crop up after you KO her. Many viewers have reported that she doesn't show up at Moonrise Towers in their playthroughs prior to patch 6.

@@MrGeeBee34 She either doesn't show up or you get marked with Enemy of Justice going into the gith creche area if you knock out minthara when she's a witness to you killing a goblin guard.
@@Revanantshow could unconscious Minthara snitch on you to the githyanki? I had to fight the goblin camp 2 different times to knock her out properly when she was temporarily hostile. It'll be days before I can get to the creche. If I can't go in, I will go crazy.

Yup, you can! :)
New stuff added. First it was she had to be temporary hostile. Which is why this did work before as she is hostile. Then they removed that required tag. At one point a way you could see if it worked was to return to the goblin camp and she would still be standing behind her desk in the sanctum. They changed that as well as if you choose to do it in the sanctum after she will not be there. Only her Spider's Lyre probably to safeguard against a situation that the player will be unable to progress to Act 2. Also another way to make the fight a little easier in the sanctum is to do the Underdark area and the other quest in the area before dealing with them. But you have to expose Kagha and stop the ritual or after a point the grove will be sealed and your out of luck. Taking on the goblin camp is far easier if your lvl 5. Knock out Minthara taking on Razgolin using barrelmancy 3 smoke powder barrels is enough on balanced to kill him in the explosion. If you can't sneak into the storeroom through the door by picking the lock, use a ladder to get into the rafters near the Priestess' room and walk the rafter to get into the room, you may have to stack a few crates to be able to jump back up and go back the way you came in. Then take out Gut if you're an elven race as you can't isolate her so easily if you are any other race. The silence trick does work but you have to be able to kill her in the first turn or be able to pin her in place to prevent her from leaving the silence field. But if you are able to do the Underdark content up to the point of going to the fortress you could even have the Susur Blade which does the same thing on striking a target.
Not working for me. She's in knockout forever, not temporarily, which means death. Yes, I did melee attack, no magic and followed the guide. I don't know what else to do.
Did you check with Moonrise?
@@justspartak Yes I did. It worked for me when I KO'd her in goblin camp, after stealing the scroll in front of her and making Minthara temporary hostile.
Maybe you're still on an older patch? This is only possible on patch 6 (and higher).
But what about all that lost xp from the under dark
I skipped those areas in the vid just to show quickly that Minthara is in Moonrise towers, but you don't have too. You can go to both the Underdark and the Creche before heading to the towers.

You can go with the usual route, and siding with them. The important part of this guide is the act 1, after you can do what you want before going to Moonrise.

Getting help from Priestess Gut only works if you are anything other than an elven race. Elves are unable to be put to sleep. Your character will just drink the potion and then give her a smug grin. Then she will attack you. She will then call for help which will instigate the halfling merchant down the hall. Someone you do not want to kill. She carries some good merchandise in Act 2 and I think in Act 3 as well.
Did you watch the video? You enter her room and cast silence over her before even talking to her. She can't give you a sleeping potion if her ass is dead.
In good playthrou because dialogue gut, minthara recruit worked for me, i do a drow, and shap to half elf dialogues choice and minth recruit take impossible with drow. I realize after reload times
I advise bringing dex characters into that encounter so you all start your turn before she does. Kill her in one turn and she can't call for help
cast silence on her before attacking, she cant call for help
