      Thanks! RC cars aren’t invincible, everyone should know that, but the takeaway here was that this truck saw a broad range of drivers and it put up with a lot. Being honest ultimately showed how impressive this truck truly is.

      Rc driver is the GOAT, that's why! Also check out Thunder RC he put this thing up against the Xmaxx. It was a brutal beating. He also included the repairs, damage and cost of repairs. It's like a week long playlist. The Outcast is a beast! You can't get better out the box for bashing in 1/5 scale. Considering how heavy it is.. You would think it wouldn't last one jump.

      The one simple thing I would recommend new owners do, is check everything's tight. After my first few runs (Nothing to crazy or extreme) I lost a few screws. Two underneath and one on the wing. A few I checked were a little loose.
      But this thing is fantastic. I'm super happy with the purchase. Would love a slightly tighter turning circle. Besides that, zero complaints.

  • @FarmerFpv

    This comes with the best RTR electronics. The power compared to the previous version is insane. It's also beefed up in all the right places. They fixed most the issues the customers complained about. Arrma is good about listening to customers for improvements. Unlike their rivals just doing what they want thinking our imput is not good enough. As you will never see customer based changes. Good on you Arrma!

      The honesty here ultimately highlighted how good this truck is. I just showed clips from the day. There was a ton more the truck went through. I won’t be able to don’t with every car. But I’ll have videos like this when I can.

    The body in my Outcast 8s gets destroyed very quickly indeed. And it's so expensive to replace. One of the reasons I 😊don't drive it anymore. The body on the K8S lasts 20x more because of the truggie design. Thanks for the video. I had to put an M2C chassis on both my Outcast 8s and EXB K8S. After like 15 runs, the diff cases have to be retightened. Even the upgraded Arrma aluminum cases suffer from that. Even after using loctite. So yeah, these trucks are very heavy, so if you don't land perfectly almost every time, they tend to break.

    I feel there is a benefit to the smaller bashers like the Maxx ... they are lighter and all plastic. I bought mine a year ago and I've been learning to forward, back and double flip and believe me I started out terrible and I'm less terrible now. Yes, my body looks a little rough and I've stripped two spur gears but the spur gear is intentionally plastic so that you strip that and nothing else in a drive train ... very smart engineering. Other than that I've just had to re-screw in a couple suspension pins after they've slowly backed out. -- Seeing the larger issues that happen with heavier vehicles like this Outcast ... I think I'll stick to the middle sized ones. -- Great video as always ... and that's rough when you loose audio, I'm sure that was a disappointment but no worries the video was still great!

    6S is still the sweet spot for these cars. Biggest enemy of the 1/5th scale outcast is the weight. It's parts are proportionally not large enough or strong enough for when that much weight hits the ground. Still a badass truck, but that same truck in 6s is bulletproof.

    Thunder rc is the man when it comes to honestly and bashing. He but the arrma outcast throw the ringer and out did the xmaxx and distroyed the xrt on his channel with durability. Hope you will be this honest @RCdriver with Traxxas rc also, most people aren't about Traxxas.

    • @rcdriver
      @rcdriver  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven’t seen any of his videos. But from what you say, setting out to destroy something doesn’t actually prove anything. Having spoken to RC designers and engineers over the years, that type of driving WILL break stuff, but not necessarily find the weak parts. It depends on the type of driving also. In the case of the XRT, people sending it to destroy it, completely missed the fact that it is a performance oriented truck. Not meant to be sent, meant to be finessed over jumps. The X-Maxx is their truck to send. So if someone doesn’t understand what the product is about, I wouldn’t call them the most honest in their assessment, I may however consider some of their thoughts when forming my overall opinion about a product.

      Because I lost my local bash spots I have to travel much farther to make videos. Some video’s would cost $50-60 in gas for 1 RC. And I go out doing videos or additional testing at least 4-5 times a week. So I got a good price for it and I’m looking at Mavericks and Santa Cruzes because they have double the gas mileage. I miss the Gladiator a lot though.

    Screws pulling out ....screws backing out ? Design Flaw !..I own numerous Arrma vehicles and every one of them has design flaws that are never corrected with new models. Example...every Arrma comes straight out of the box with the front wheels flopping around like a flaccid pecker. Sorry just had to get that out.

  • @barbedwirerat661

    The performance and durability of this Outcast 8S EXB RTR is essentially on-par with most 1/8 scale RTR trucks, which is saying a lot for a large scale, aluminum chassis RTR stock out of the box! So, perhaps in terms of large scale, the X--Maxx and XRT got there first, but those are lighter plastic tub trucks, and they certainly come with their own sets of issues. I have been holding-out getting into the new 1/5 platforms since I got back into the hobby a few years ago because the RTRs come off a bit sluggish, and if you weren't landing on the wheels...and mistakes do happen...stuff breaks rather easily. So it looked as though you needed to spend quite a lot on aftermarket parts (as I did with the Baja 5B Flux RTR back in the day), then after all that extra bulk, you needed yet more powerful electronics if you wanted to rip them like an 1/8 scale rig. I would say that now with the new ARRMA 8S EXB RTRs out there competing with the X-Maxx and XRT, as well as the availability of reasonably priced and higher capacity LiPos, maybe we are starting the golden age of large scale off-road RC that is far more accessible now to people in the hobby than several years ago. Sure, there is still more expense involved than 1/10 and 1/8 scale trucks, but it seems more obtainable now to mainstream RC enthusiasts that are ready to take that next step beyond 1/8 scale trucks.

    • @VetteWay2Fast
      @VetteWay2Fast 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 5th scale models are just such a fun experience to run with their weight and size. Xmaxx is fun for level non flip jumps, but struggles to rotate for flips being a truck.
