    You missed the aluminum front bearing support for the center diff, and the upgraded 4mm shock stays (just like M2C's) too. I love the looks of the aluminum bulkheads, but with the price listed as $99 each, I think there are some other options available at a much better price. Overall I like the new upgrades, but since I already have the original EXB, I'll just finish the upgrades.

Which we know are literally double the quality strength. If M2C matches the production of the larger size, that would be cool. We’ll see

    What weight diff grease, they say 80k cst in front and rear, 100k in center...
    I just bought 3 different weights to redo my older rtr kraton. V5.
    I was gonna go 30k f 500k c, and 50k rear.
    Do the lsd make a difference in the center that much?.... I thought they used 1m. In center. 100k in both front and rear, but that was older.
    Thoughts on grease weight for this please?..... 🤔 ty.

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For the longest time it came from stock, 10k rear, 100K Center, and 10k front. But keep in mind this was in the old style, differentials, slightly larger spider gears, slightly smaller planetary gears. Does this engineering nuance account for a change in thinking with the viscosity of recommended differential fluid? Probably a bit …leaning toward Arma thinks it should be thicker.
      Anyway… With the old differentials, again, they used 10k rear, 100 K Center, 10 K front.
      But better was 20-30k rear, 500k to 1mil center, and 60-80k front. According to the veterans.
      So…this was all before reengineering the cup, and adding limited slip plates became incorporated.
      I my self am not a fan of the limited slip disks for which there are two variant loadouts depending on the way you stack the disks in the differential cup
      however, I am a fan of the EXB differentials without the limited slip disks.
      I prefer to remove the limited slip plates and replace them with the shim kits and do what they call “running them open”.
      Doing so… all you really have to mess with is just the thickness of the oils. Because honestly limited plates just interact with the oil anyway simply making whatever’s in there mechanically more viscous.
      If I had to guess or approximate how much the slip plates increased the resistance I would probably say 40-50K. Why? Because arrma used to do 10K in v4/v5 open cups, then Decided to add mechanical viscosity on top of that, telling me that they truly believed what all the veteran bashers were saying…the rear should be higher than 10K when run open, So they announced the EXB diffs with 10k plus limited slip plates, conforming, and listening to the need for increased limitations, then 10k.
      So… What did they value the limited slip plates as. They gave us the answer now …. By putting 80K In the now open EXB version, coming with the Kraton extreme.
      So they must value the slip Plates as a 70k CST increase. And they must now think that 80 K inside of an open differential is better than 10K inside of an open differential. That’s a big jump though for what they believe should be inside of an open differential. So my guess is that the re-engineering of the cup internals probably counts for Something.
      I.e.… It’s my guess plates probably add 40 to 50k.
      so what should you run in your v/5 Kraton that’s running the older classic open differentials.
      I’d run 20 or 30k rear, up to 50 is fine.
      500 to 1,000,000 in the center, or silicon earplugs.
      And 60 to 80K in the front.
      If by chance you ever upgrade your differentials to the EXB variance, I would run all of them open, and the same thickness, but not going above 30K in the rear.
      🤜🤛

      Anything M2C will be better than even the latest version. For example, if you find the aluminum bulkheads from somewhere else and fit them on yours… Combined with other M2C components, chassis, hinge pins, towers, shocks stand offs etc…
      You will have yourself a “better” than the Kraton extreme EXB.

  • @joeytravis1953
    @joeytravis1953 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Can you upgrade a v5 6s kraton to a 6s exb v2 version with upgrades?

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course, I mean, I have the V4 Kraton and I’ve upgraded mine well past the EXB v2.
      All you need to do is note the differences between the V5 and the EXB and gather those components. Most of them you can get it from M2C. At least that’s where I would go for the ones that are available.
      When it comes to the aluminum bulkheads, turns out M2C doesn’t carry those. So you can go with Arrma, vitamin, hot racing. There may even be a few others. I’m not sure if you can find them on eBay from BasherQueen anymore, but maybe.
      Other than the bulkheads, the V2 has a different ESC, but honestly, I’m sure the one you have is fine. Same with your motor. There’s an upgraded servo saver in the V2. So if you really wanted that you could pick it up from Arrma… or watch my modification videos on making your current service saver better. Search how to get 100% steering on TH-cam.
      The other big change is there more beefy rear wing mount, which sure you can upgrade to… you just have to pick up their new shock tower in the rear. Or… I still think that my 3-DRC modified wing combined with the video I created regarding attaching M2Cs custom D-Block retro fitted with the Mojave bumper is just as good as the V2 or better. Search ultimate wing mount mod on TH-cam …
      But if you really wanted that elevated wing mount they offer you’d have to change your rear shock to accommodate the holes. I wouldn’t buy that specific wing mount from arrma tho. There are, third-party makers such as garage life, RC, even kuroda who 3D prints a better version of that wing mount that’s flexible.
      Switching to M2C outdrive cups is better than the newer enlarged cups.
      And if you’re wanting EXB differentials then yeah …one at a time you can switch over
      I currently am only running an EXB differential in my rear (which required me to change the spiral input gear in the back only) I have a video on that if you feel like finding it .
      if I have problems with the center or front, then at that time I’ll switch to EXB.
      But to answer your question simply. Yes you can totally pick up the parts all at once or overtime and eventually convert your version to the EXB version v2. Or better.
      Sure, the V2 has a split rear center tower to tower brace. But even better than that would be to simply pick up an M2C chassis, which to be honest with you alleviates the need to even run a tower to tower brace.
      If you want beefier turn buckles, either buy the V2 version from Arrma, or simply implement the mod video I created on that.
      I created a video showcasing how to modify the v4 to the V5/EXB when it comes to a- arms. Check out my video library on details about the EXB differentials and how to switch or upgrade those..
      Let me know if you have any specific questions. Or if you need me to help to provide the links to a specific video

    So How does this Kraton 6s exb v2 rtr compare to the Kraton 8s exb v2 rtr? Try to find which is best or if there both very good 😂

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      they are both very good. I prefer the smaller 6S, or 1/8 scale, to the 1/5 scale. Mostly because I think that size of 1/8 is still very large and satisfying. And let’s be honest, you can jump one of those 30 to 50 feet farther all day long simply because of this size dynamic.
      Also, to note… that the 6S V2 is the only one being dubbed extreme. Because it comes with two aluminum bulkheads, and a plethora of other unique upgrades
      Both come with upgraded electronics. The biggest change in the 1/5 scale that Arma addressed because it was a pretty dramatic weakness was beefing up the shock rods and shock rod ends.
      But yes, both are amazing rigs and if you’re a veteran in the hobby, and already have multiple Riggs in the one eighth scale class. And you’ve never dipped your toes in the larger size rigs… Do that.

    Christmas is just around the corner and I will be gifted with a new 1/8 😂.
    You can choose from: Arrma Outcast 6s, Arrma Notorious 6s, Arrma Kraton EXB v2 or Traxxas Sledge 6s (budget around €800 available). Which one would you choose or recommend is mainly used for meadows and jumps.
    The vehicle should be able to take a beating and the availability of the parts would also be important.
    Keep it up, best regards

      Definitely 100% the Kraton!
      Both the outcast and notorious are pretty much, the same rig, and the shorter wheelbase means they’re just too wheelie happy.
      The Kraton wins over the sledge As far as durability goes by a little bit. But definitely takes the win when it comes parts availability. And as you go farther and farther Into those parts, verbally rate of return, keeps increasing with the Kraton.

    Never had an issue with the factory pins. If i bend one i just buy new ones for 6$. Buying the captured kit for insane money i dont see the point. And makes it more of a pain to work on the bulkhead area. If i remember its secured by two nylon nuts. And i have seen some snapping at the threads. And im sure they dont cost 6$ to replace. @EastTactics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Understandable, you are definitely right the composite parts are for sure drastically cheaper. The point really falls more into place when you dial up the level of bashing to what someone consider crazy levels. I know many RC Enthusiast with their RC are completely happy, keeping most of their jumps 10 to 15 feet 20 pushing it. But when you start getting that itch for launching 60 to 70 feet on the regular, those hinge pin kits, ABCD blocks become invaluable.
      Appreciate you checking out my video and commenting, God bless, Brother 🤜🤛

      If you nose dive at those heights something going to break. No pin going to save you. Did end up nose diving on a massive jump because it was getting dark and i lost track of my rc in the air. My chassis bent in the rear because of the T2T. It kept bending it on the slight nose dive. Since i removed it it never bent it again. Curious to see how this new design holds up. The issue with the old design was during frontal impact the front would flex and the brace would force the energy to the pivot point at the rear of the truck bending the chassis downwards. I suspect broken center diff mounts or tubes on the new design@@EastTactics

      @EastTactics m2c has a handful of parts for the 4s line, like chassis brace and adjustable motor mount and they are great, dont get me wrong. I would just like to see more of the 4s kraton weak points covered to create an extreme bash setup for the 4s kraton if Arrma doesn't do it.

      For sure, there is a huge value to having those lighter, smaller rigs. And I could imagine if M2C were to facilitate as much attention toward them as they do to the 6s and 8 S line, they would be virtually unstoppable. My guess is the market must not be large enough For the attention to cover the range of parts. I would highly recommend however, if you wanna pushchange, M2C is one of the rare companies that going to their website and reaching out via their contact information and putting in a request for specific upgrades, speaks volumes, for at least encouraging change. Because they listen.

      I have no doubt. Great company!
      I still put Arrma at their level.
      You can go wrong with either company

      But this new arrma kraton is nice,and I am glad to see you can buy a kraton with some good upgrades,,just won't do me any good 😂 my kraton is almost done being being built with m2ç parts,and then I take all my spare parts I have,and build another kraton so I have 2..

      You and me are very similar. I have one Kraton completely decked out. And then I picked up a second Kraton that I have all the parts to completely deck out. Just need to get around to doing it. So I’ll have two rocking this next spring

    Shouldnt have released the 6s bigrock like idk how they couldnt see why the fireteam was a disaster then they release a kraton exb with tons of updates and upgrades for the same price as the bigrock. The bigrock is a kraton with a longer chassis pretty much and a rolling diamond body. The body is half of the truck price in parts☠

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I know right, I honestly agree with you. All the big rock is is a glorified fire team with the Kraton loadout. And yes, another overly complex body and no rear wing protection. While granted, it looks amazing, but it’s more of a shelf queen in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong I do think it’s a great addition to their Lineup, but the Kraton is going to overshadow it, or at least it should.
      Now, if they would’ve sold the big rock at 699 with all of those aluminum upgrades, that would have been more something. Naturally, with the cost of that body, it would be a loss.

      the body is 90 bucks

      It is?? Then what is the Kraton as they all share the same set up? If you took a second to look the big rock has more in common with the new kraton than a fire team. Same servos. esc, drive cups all differentials just doesnt have the shiny aluminum parts. You dont even have a car and making videos and trashing the big rock thats pathetic. @@EastTactics

      Well, technically, it’s not out yet, most people probably won’t see it until after Christmas because of back orders. I’ve seen worse fishing/Clickbait. I considered putting 2023, but it’s pretty much over and stuff lol thanks for watching.

      i’m not sure I follow your question about V2, there is no V2. Are you referring to the v5 or the EXB releases? Or.
      Because this new release mentioned in the video is a brand new re-release of the Kraton with quite a few unique upgrades.

      Does arrma use the same internal gears in the transfer cases throughout the truck in the 6s and the 8s. Also what bearings do recommend using when freshening up rig

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The gearbox internals (differentials) are the same in all three differentials within the 6s line, yes.
      However, the 8S uses a completely different set of differential internals for the 8S line. All three are the same within the 8S.
      Avid bearings or fast eddy bearings are good,

    So How does this Kraton 6s exb v2 rtr compare to the Kraton 8s exb v2 rtr? Try to find which is best or if there both very good 😂

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question, while both are being considered, the V2 variant in their class, only one is being dubbed as extreme.
      You see the biggest upgrade in the one fifth scale 8S from the previous version is arrma, addressing the weakness that was the shock system. They’ve beef up the shock rod, as well as the shock rod ends in this new 1/5 scale RTR. They’ve upgraded electronics and other components around the rig , they also upgraded the body style paint job to match that of the new Kraton EXB extreme 6s
      But again, the new 1/5 scale 8S is not being dubbed extreme like the 6s is.
      So, put it simply if you’re looking for overall toughness and durability, not only is the 6s smaller which means you can jump farther and it take it, it also has aluminum front and rear bulkheads.
      That all said, both are great, and probably the majority of your decision might ride on simply how large of an RC you want. If you’re new to the hobby, I would probably suggest going with the extreme, because One eight scale is still a good size RC. However, if you’re itching for that next size Upgrade in your life, The 8S would be your choice.
