I had this stream playing in the background in the bathroom and was going to get in the shower when Science Is Dope's doorbell rang. So the actual problematic word is Sanatani.... It's a long thing to explain, but I do recommend Ashok Kumar Pandey's video on Sanatan Dharm. Sanatan is actually what endorses caste based hierarchy. They call for no change in the practice of religion, that is why the name Sanatan, means eternal, and which is the word actually taken for Buddhist literature...

The problem with you, Vimoh, is that you just attack the lowest hanging aspect of your opponent's argument. I think you would benefit from actually taking more than, like, five seconds to understand your opponent's point more clearly and broadly before hastily trying to rebut a superficial fallacy. Effectively, because of this knee-jerky defensiveness, you sometimes end up engaging in the Fallacy Fallacy. This makes it not only intellectually dishonest, but also plain boring.
Here are my friendly suggestions to you if you really want to be the big rationalist you dream of becoming:
1. You can learn a thing or two from how Meghnad approaches questions posed to him.
2. Read more history.
3. Learn to learn from others and be curious. Not just be defensive with that frown on your face.
4. Have fun! Your audience likes to see you enjoy yourself. I feel you're always so caught up in your "debunking mode" that you forget to do that :)

I could take flaws in capitalism that were mentioned without a doubt but could not agree blatantly rubbishing it. India providing free rations to 25 crore free people since covid times and free covid vaccines to all is Socialism.... is not it? The corporates and government agencies working together in research and development and manufacturing of covid vaccines is a collaboration and effectiveness of corporates. If Jio is providing cheapest data in the whole world.... why not to welcome it? It is a revolution in itself. How many families are living because of Reliance, TATA, Adani, Mahindra, Birla etc companies. Painting corporate is bad is futile in my view. What wrong with a lay person if he/she indeed support a country outside the country of its citizenship? Many Indians who have become permanent citizens of US would still want India to succeed and become global power. That definitely not seditious too. Liking or not liking any nation involves interplay of emotions which are shaped by social circumstances. A person may like or celebrate n number of things. Thats nobody's business to peep into. Not pro Gulag, but I have to say this. Most of the anti communists were pro monarchy and fascists. A group of anti communists (Kulaks) burned food grains which were supposed to feed poor farmers. Such people were sent to the gulag, for example.

Capitalism has to come before socialism, there's no way around it. Lenin's failed collectivisation proved it. Capitalism is also supposed to destroy old feudal structure and make your entire social structure market oriented. That's how an industrial society is supposed to orient itself. So caste system should dissolve. So I don't think Santan Dharma will cease to exist without caste because lots of yajnas and structures have shifted over thousands of years, Indra who was a primary deity is now considered a kroodh demi God. Imagine calling Indra kroodh 2000 years ago. I think industrialization is enough for it. Destruction of rural system and mass urbanization is key. India has protected rural system since independence which is why caste bonds are relevant even now in most areas.

One of these days I'd like to come and debate what exactly we understand as socialism and capitalism. As a self-identified communist, among other things, I often feel confused by the definitions you use.
Socialism is not about 'regulation'. Saying it can exist alongside capitalism is like saying you can be a dog and a cat at the same time.
I have similar confusions. Please suggest some good reads that will clear things up (in a modern context as well).
