I'm with Bryce, I think Kendal started to bomb and then fully brought it round and it was actually a successful pitch/presentation. They were saying that the response was good. Then Roman slinks off because he backed out of doing the presentation and then Kendal gets all the glory and that is part of why he listens to that edit of his dad because it's comforting to relive that abuse from Logan when he feels like a failure.
Kendall slayed it
Yeah this is the official line on what happened. Kendall had a rough start but pulled through and ended up doing really well and it made the siblings jealous. If he had actually done badly Karolina would've been in damage control mode, not clapping and congratulating him. She's never been a kiss ass like that.
I love how when Logan died the shackles immediately came off the execs. Karl was WILD this episode.
When the team was clapping for Kendal, they weren't "lying to him"; he genuinely did very well (at least optically). imo Bryce is completely correct (in terms of what the showrunners were going for)
I can def understand this argument for suck ups like Greg and Hugo but Karolina would never be clapping and congratulating Ken for doing an amazing job if he didn't, she'd be stressing and doing damage control.
there is something special about Jeremy’s acting in this episode, the gleam in his eyes
also the “1” in the end is number one boy I think
He is truly gifted one in a million special type of actor, currently one of the best actors working today in world
Ken is always like water. Always slippery, but a force of nature at times, with the illusion of controlling it.
The point of Kendall’s presentation was to drive up the stock value of Waystar which happened. It was based on bullshit but he accomplished what he intended.
kendall’s presentation was a success, that wasn’t just yes men
True; this is Kendall's most solid win to date.
this there is a bit of a misunderstanding, the presentation did everything kendall wanted, it's a definitive W for him which is saying a lot
The number one boy killed that presentation 💯
The episode proves that Kendall is really good at his job, when he tries to not earn his father's applause.
Shiv’s doctor called to give her pre-natal test results. She’s pregnant.
The end is definitely framed as Kendall floating on a win. He's not looking down in to the water, he's not drowning, he's in a good place for a change. He pulled on the presentation even when it seemed it was going to bomb. Oh and that water was cold apparently. They filmed it in winter I think they said.
Nah, Kendall definitely did well with his presentation. Despite everything it actually worked out for him & the company. And his success here will affect the dynamic with Roman moving forward.
"you're not your dad" is the nicest compliment anyone could give anyone, but *especially* Roman. Kid lost his mind.
You know there are people out there who don't have daddy issues and massively respect their dad, right?
This reaction was really well edited.
Hi! Can you guys react to a new movie called
Society of the snow? It's from the same director as The Impossible and it is based on a true story about a plain accident in The Andes in 1972 in Chile. It has been nominated for best international movie for the Oscars.
Guys, the pitch was definitely a Kendall win by the end; the team weren’t lying to him. You can tell by the positive industry reactions they’re reviewing at the end. He was trying to sell everyone a laughable idea and he succeeded in making it seem legit, which is another level of impressive. Win for K, loss for Shiv by way of Matsson loss with his tweet, and loss for Roman for pulling out. I think it’s why he’s so bummed at the end, and subjecting himself to a beyond the grave verbal beating from his Dad.
Loved the reaction as always!
Shiv never did the coke
Logan is truly Living+
I think that it’s important to remember that the final series of succession takes place over 10 consecutive days. Logan, a bad father, but their primary carer for most of their lives, died three days ago. They are all still in the process of grieving his loss. This explains some of the poor decision-making.
One of my favorite moments of the series was Kendal’s presentation. The delusional confidence this required to pull off was quite admirable. It’s also a great, and unfortunately realistic view of how far separated company fundamentals and their stock prices have become. This actually happens. Cool to see a dramatized and close up view of how it plays out in real time.
Thanks to Bryce, Rob and Zuff! 💸
There are few reactors I stay and listen to after the reactions. But I really enjoy listen to your thoughts and analyzes. Thank you, you put up some good stuff!
You guys should put Cobra Kai in one of y’all’s polls
LOL honestly I didn't really "get" this episode at first when I watched it but as it went on it became clearer that Kendall was manic. This is such classic Succession, these kids are blowing up their lives and being their own worst enemy but it's so funny to watch. The writers of this show are pretty much against everything the Roy family stands for so they have a great time making fun of these people along with the cast. The studio lady is basically like the Kathleen Kennedy (the president of Lucasfilm) of their movie studio. Her issue was with Mencken because Mencken is an alt-right fascist and their liberal audience didn't want to see their movies because ATN is supporting him. Hollywood has to pretend they care about stuff like that, especially when it messes with their money so essentially Roman is yelling at her over something the Roys created but throwing their support for Mencken.
Buckle up guys. 4 episodes left. It’s going to get interesting!
This show always amazes! Can’t wait to see what you guys think.
I believe there might be some misunderstanding among a few in comments regarding the intended message of the show makers. The portrayal of Ken was not aimed at depicting him as a competent CEO or someone who is "force of nature". While his pitch initially caused a spike in the stock price, it quickly retraced the following day (as revealed in the next episode). This retrace occurred because everyone realized that Kendall was presenting an unrealistic and unsustainable vision.
This only shows that both Ken and Roman tend to act impulsively, lacking thorough consideration as if they were acting without much foresight, akin to children. When Kendall's impractical pitch for smart homes becomes apparent to everyone, it either renders him a subject of mockery, resulting in a loss of credibility at best, or exposes them to significant consequences such as a hefty SEC fine.
The presentation was successful as its only purpose was to temporarily boost the price of Waystar stock with the goal being to make it impossible for Gojo to purchase the company. There would also be basically no repercussions for spinning the BS about Living Plus, tech companies do it all the time.
We're in the home stretch; the next 4 episodes are a wild ride, strap in, gents!
React to severance pls! It’s a great show
23:58 I'm Rob when Roman fired Gerry
Wooooosh
I feel like that was actually a successful presentation from Kendall 😭💀
Ken did a great job
Shiv has only been drinking, she only played with the coke that Mattsen gave her, I think she didn't want to cross too many lines
Guys love reacting to you. Please next watch this amazing kdrama called DEATHS GAME. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Hey guys! Love your reactions ❤️
Can you please react on "sweet home" it's a kdrama and really really popular and worth too watch! You guys won't be disappointed
BRATZ The Movie
This was for sure one of the most manic episodes of Kendall just doing whatever he wants with yes men around him even Roman was on one as well compared to shiv she seems to be the most stable in comparison
Day 42 requesting Penny Dreadful :)
