I really really Like Tom and Shiv this season so far.
And man the way Kendall and Roman are acting it feels like a powder kegg due to erupt.
I think Shiv will end up running Pierce with Tom, Kendall will Run Waystar and Keep cousin Greg with him, and Roman will find Terri have his break down, the He and Terri will Run ATN together.

The "director" of the Logan video was the director of the entire episode. Lorene Scafaria also directed Kendall's birthday episode and I think the episode right after Logan's death. She has done a bunch of work in other things, but I know her mostly as Lee in the 2013 movie Coherence.
Coherence is a great movie - so interesting
Her episodes are so rewatchable. The performances in all of them are so vulnerable for every character. She mines the weight out of their struggles so well!
This episode was so weird because it was both a realistic loss and win for Kendall. As well as him being in a sick mental state this episode and nobody even noticed, they just mocked him. Ken's birthday mania is when he's stressed and has nothing he wants thus it's aggressive and I this episode he has everything he should want and yet still feels discontent so it's subtle. Haven't finished yet but I can tell already a great video as always Jimmy! Edit: watched it and it was as expected a great video!
Eh Roman and Shiv were half trying to look out for Kendall before Roman backed out, Kendall is centralising all the decision making. Roman is the ticking time bomb everyone is ignoring.

@@Spaced92 THIS! I’ve gone back and rewatched all of the season 4 trailers after episode 3 and you can tell Roman is going to lose his mind. In one of the trailers you see Shiv, Tom & Greg running in ATN while Roman is out in the middle of the street where the cops are marching with riot gear on. There’s another scene where it looks like Roman is popping pills and Kendall is trying to get them out of his mouth. Kendall has his demons but he’s at least has gone to therapy and has a good grief guy. Roman opens up to no one except for Gerri and he just fired her. It also looks like she’s thinking about suing from the trailers as well.
@@Spaced92 Neither of them were looking out for Kendall... Shiv was looking out for herself and the Matsson deal, and Roman just didn't want to be collateral damage if Kendall imploded.

Will say though Shiv had ulterior motives for trying to stop Kendall and Roman from doing this… taking orders from Mattson as his girl on the inside :/ the fact that she convinced Roman but then he was upset at the end when he saw how successful it was, idk what will happen. Maybe he starts to cut Shiv out now as he was the one pushing to involve her before?

I don’t know if it’s all going to be misery at the end. I figure half will salvage a decent life for themselves after sh*t hits the fan, whilst the other half are left broken and devastated. Kendal and Roman will have nothing, Greg’s not really a player thus he’ll simply bounce and Shiv will have a messy and twisted but still somewhat functional relationship with Tom as they both raise Patrick Bateman. Another idea I have is that Matsson will take over and partner up with Shiv which would act as a comeuppance for the way Roman and Kendal have been sidelining her.
Greg is getting more and more corrupt so i wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the most evil of all in the end

Kendall and Roman are a pair of ticking time bombs. Just a matter of time before they self-destruct.
Thats the thing though, even if they self-destruct they will still be fine.... monetarily speaking.
That Matsson tweet made him come across as rather silly, and made the Roys look bad only in the sense that they are associated with him, as opposed to them actively enabling alt-right ghouls like Jeryd Mencken. I don't think that the show is necessarily trying to treat him like some sort of weird genius in the first place, but I saw no short-term tactics or long-term strategy in that tweet.
Honestly the tweet also makes the brothers feel credible. They started the episode alerting the board to Mattsons erratic behavior.
Now I’m the middle of an investor presentation he sends a Nazi tweet? To Which Kendall had to immediately field questions on.
Gerri has wayyy too much dirty on Roman to remain fired. The pictures he sent her opened them up to a massive lawsuit. That's the last thing they need right now. I think Shiv will undo his decision once she finds out.
also i think you make an interesting point about karl being the reason kendall did well in that presentation - he was probably on the verge of fucking it up and then wanting to stick it to karl gave him the bit of fire he needed to get his head back in the game

This episode was the crux. Kendall literally manipulating his father as payback, now the old guard/Karolina are in a pickle. If the stock continues to rise, they have to choose allegiance eventually between Ken/Matsson, foreshadowing perhaps the original Waystar acquisition of GoJo in Season 3 with a new CEO in Ken who 'understands tech' , especially after the Matsson Holocaust tweet. The numbers are all any of these fucks care about , and the evaluation of Kendall's new Living+ models were crazy good regardless of logistics/ethics. Logan was never a perfect businessman, he was just ruthless, and Ken is starting down that path. (Remember that he went behind Roman like two episodes ago, and has been keeping Shiv out of the loop)
exactly, logan's strength as a businessman was that he was ruthless and willing to do ANYTHING to win, even if it was unethical or illegal. (remember him refusing to leave the room during the vote of no confidence? highly illegal.) ken always had the actual business smarts, even logan admits this. he has an MBA from harvard. his issue was always that he lacked killer instinct and was afraid to get his hands dirty, but that's starting to change.

I guess thet were all dealing with Logan's absence in different ways: Shiv is grieving in a healthy way but alone, Roman cant proccess it and he's just acumulating pressure and Kendall is using it in his own benefit...but they're not doing together as siblings

You brought up a lot of what I was thinking during the episode. Shiv seems to be handling this the best. She actually cries, takes some time to feel and grieve. I am VERY worried about Roman. He seems to be spiraling. Kendall, I feel, can really use his strengths when not constantly harassed and undermined by Logan. Those are my thoughts anyway. Really good vid. And you look a bit young, but if you've watched Star Trek the next generation, the editing scene really reminded me of how Picard would ask how long something would take, they'd say 4 hours and he'd say: " You have two", and they'd always magically do it in two. Which made no sense, but that scene was so similar to the absurdity of those scenes.
No idea what Kendall was on about/promoting but by God I'm in.

You know what would be a nice twist on the last episode, if Matsson got a phone call from the Board and told him Waystar Royco just out in a nice bid to buy his company.

No I think shiv is wrong way wrong. Am I the only one seeing this. Old Kendall would’ve had a meltdown. I think it’s Roman’s love for shiv she’s playing Roman and made him doubt. Kendall didn’t melt at all by Karl. I am totally in love with the moves Kendal and Roman made in this episode
You're in love with Roman's move to fire Gerri? With the sexual harassment that only stopped recently, firing Gerri as soon as he steps up in the company is a gigantic lawsuit waiting to happen.
I feel like Shiv is positioning herself really well for the inevitable downfall of Kendall and Roman.
Her only play is to side with Mattson, she wouldn’t be in a position to run as CEO by herself as the brothers already gave the reasons why she would be disliked by the board. Her choice is to support her brothers or let them self destruct and choose Mattson.
I had a thought when they showed this shot from behind of her dividing the brothers, Logan always made other people scrap and then picked up the pieces. I hope she's not a killer though.

@@Spaced92 theyve done a lot of 'from behind' shots of kendall too, the only person who hasnt got one is Roman (the one trying the most to be like his dad).
I think him floating is symbolic that things are looking up. And it all started with him being more serious and dropping the shenanigans at the presentation. I think the show is basically over so I think this is where he gets into his own and becomes a "serious person".
There isn't enough time left in the Season for anymore Plots, or twists and turns. Ken will keep Waystar, and Run it COUSIN Greg will stay with Ken, Shiv will run Pierce with Tom, Roman will find Terri and have his break down, then He will Run ATN. I think at sometime there will be LOGAN'S WILL.
Kendall is so used to failing that the fact that he didn't yet again completely shit the bed in front of a bunch of people sent him to the moon and he's completely high on his own supply. We know what happens when Ken gets high on his own supply. Next week he's going to be even more manic.
