It's one thing to strip away so much frome PvE before even releasing it, but to still make us pay for such a watered down experience that barely counts as a story is just criminal.

It's sad, really. So much potential, wasted.
The missions of the story phase have a similarity to the mission of the archive phase, and this is boring for us as old players. I find that paying for three missions is stupid now.
What was even the point of upgrading?

I preferred to watch mini games for free, then play them for free. That’s why I watch this guy.

It’s wasn’t going to be free to begin with. The pvp was free to play and the story stuff was what you pay for.

Honestly this story mode is pretty good. I absolutely love the cutscenes. I just wish it wasn’t only 90 minutes of content.
Im very glad we are getting more interactive lore elements, too bad about the business model though, but this is been a long time coming anyway.
Sigh. Every time I think there's hope for Widowmaker, the lore deepens and makes it even more impossible for her to get some redemption 😭

Its so sad. The Overwatch universe and its characters are very interesting and appealing and I want to love it and play it a lot.
But just knowing what the campaign experience could have originally been and the fact that every cent I put on this game just goes to fill Bobby Goblin pockets and his broken promises just kills my urge to play the game.
This game is the enbodyment of the phrase "What could have been..."
The campaign doesn’t seem that bad to me, although I haven’t played overwatch 1 or 2 so I don’t have the right to say that.

@@Ahhhhhh843pve was not going to be free to play, they had already told that during the announcement, it's that it was all supposed to be released at once to pay one time for like 60 bucks, but now they can increase the price to 2-3 times easily by releasing it batches for next few years

@@mafikdew78 15 euros is quite a lot for just 1,5 hours content, and you have to pay future missions. Also it isn't that special, you are just paying from cut scenes which you can look from here. If there would been somekind of change in game mechanics etc. way more people would bought this.

Knowing the fact that this is just a taste of what Blizzard was planning to make before they scraped it all is extremely disheartening.
That is if they were planning to make anything at all and not just use this as an excuse to change shopping

don't pay $20 for 1 hour and 30 minutes of gameplay when you can grab a bunch of games on sale right now.
The timing on that first Dragon Blade was perfect. I will bet the next few story missions will be told from the Talon viewpoint, given the way it ended or at least the first of the next set.
A leaked cutscene shoes genji and Zenyatta fighting Sombra and Widowmaker, So Genji most likely got there before Talon did, and the next missions wil be that fight, which would explain why Zenyatta wasn't surprised when they found him

Look at this, the lore with Zenyatta is so good. If it had been in the base game and expanded on, it would have been amazing. Such wasted potential.

The ship's level design is clearly influenced by Halo: CE forerunner structures, just look at the triangular doors and the rooms
for the torb brig rein snd bastion part best way to do it is just bastion sits behind rein and sprays while torb runs around them with brig doing brig things

The whole argument to justify the shop and battlepass was that this game would be entirely free and now they expect us to pay for content they promised would come with the original game.
And they're not even giving us that. It's 15 bucks for 3 missions, without skill trees. Next PvE update, we'll need to pay again.
I think the story mode is good it gives more insight and the sojourn vigilante skin u earn after it is pretty damn cool
It is like there is 0 stakes in these missions and you cannot die, they should have made them way harder with enemies with moveset from like Doom Eternal.

OW1 had also Microtransactions, via Loot Boxes. Take your pick on what is worse. If it's cosmetics, it doesn't bother me much, but im not a fan of the luck based elements.

Meanwhile, OW2 is still a big mess with less lootboxes, telling people to pay battle passes and 15 bucks for the tiny part of that PvE shit most Blizzass employees used to promise and develop 🤡
i did not know this game but got a free ultimate bundle with a video card purchase and this game looks fun. make me think a bit of teamfortress game with all those characters.
OW 2 promised a legitimate Campaign only to scrap it and repeat the same mistake it did with 1.

These story/PvE cut-scenes confuse the timeline for me. I mean...Lucio only introduces himself to them this late? AND Rein still thinks Omnics are just machines? WHEN is all of this taking place? Are they all prequels to how characters presently relate to one another in-game? That would explain it, of course, but it's like they do it all in reverse order, retroactively and it just breaks the immersion. Also, I didn't hear any interactions between Sojourn and Rammatra in the compilation for their pre-match dialogue. Which is weird.

No they did not release it after backlash. The first mission was shown like 2 years ago, plus 3 more missions. This is nothing. It was supposed to be a whole game, but they cancelled it and released 4 missions as a dlc. That was what the backlash was about. All this time, all these promises of a new game when they actually were not making a new a game at all. All lies. Just an excuse to change the shopping system.

How does the underworld mission fit into the lore? If Lucio is with Overwatch, then it's after Rio's mission, but Torb is there too, and he is supposed to be staying in Gothenburg after the Ironclad mission. I guess the underworld mission is not fully canon??
Its the free mission so i imagine they didnt really put as much care into it

Feels like they used up all their creativity with the first two missions where new characters' stories were actually explored. Then just defaulted back to Reinhardt, Tracer, Torbjorn. So many characters that are supposedly overwatch members just don't seem to exist.

I'm glad we are finally getting story missions but 15 is a bit much, i'll get it if its 7 or 9 bucks because they did a great job on the story elements themselves, and I really wanted to see more of Rammatra.
Also, I really dislike Tracer's dialogue in story modes, she may be the face of OW, but there are better characters out there.

The whole PVE is done actually but they are selling it piece by piece. In short, they lied.

Saved $15, looks the same as archives as usual other than new enemy types.
It's actually quite jarring seeing OW's PvP gameplay applied to PvE. None of the character abilities are designed for this kind of thing.
There's no swarm control, no blocking, resurrecting teammates looks awkward. And all the enemies seem to do is slowly trod towards you and pew pew with slow turn radius.
Comparing this to L4D or Vermintide makes you realize how much they didn't do to adapt OW to PvE.
Cutscenes are dope tho.
