It's one thing to strip away so much frome PvE before even releasing it, but to still make us pay for such a watered down experience that barely counts as a story is just criminal.
The missions of the story phase have a similarity to the mission of the archive phase, and this is boring for us as old players. I find that paying for three missions is stupid now.
Its so sad. The Overwatch universe and its characters are very interesting and appealing and I want to love it and play it a lot. But just knowing what the campaign experience could have originally been and the fact that every cent I put on this game just goes to fill Bobby Goblin pockets and his broken promises just kills my urge to play the game. This game is the enbodyment of the phrase "What could have been..."

The timing on that first Dragon Blade was perfect. I will bet the next few story missions will be told from the Talon viewpoint, given the way it ended or at least the first of the next set.
A leaked cutscene shoes genji and Zenyatta fighting Sombra and Widowmaker, So Genji most likely got there before Talon did, and the next missions wil be that fight, which would explain why Zenyatta wasn't surprised when they found him
The whole argument to justify the shop and battlepass was that this game would be entirely free and now they expect us to pay for content they promised would come with the original game. And they're not even giving us that. It's 15 bucks for 3 missions, without skill trees. Next PvE update, we'll need to pay again.

OW 2 promised a legitimate Campaign only to scrap it and repeat the same mistake it did with 1. Every sequel to a MP Exclusive game got a Campaign. Why did Overwatch 2 have to break the trend.😅
OW1 had also Microtransactions, via Loot Boxes. Take your pick on what is worse. If it's cosmetics, it doesn't bother me much, but im not a fan of the luck based elements.

Feels like they used up all their creativity with the first two missions where new characters' stories were actually explored. Then just defaulted back to Reinhardt, Tracer, Torbjorn. So many characters that are supposedly overwatch members just don't seem to exist.
I'm glad we are finally getting story missions but 15 is a bit much, i'll get it if its 7 or 9 bucks because they did a great job on the story elements themselves, and I really wanted to see more of Rammatra. Also, I really dislike Tracer's dialogue in story modes, she may be the face of OW, but there are better characters out there.
These story/PvE cut-scenes confuse the timeline for me. I mean...Lucio only introduces himself to them this late? AND Rein still thinks Omnics are just machines? WHEN is all of this taking place? Are they all prequels to how characters presently relate to one another in-game? That would explain it, of course, but it's like they do it all in reverse order, retroactively and it just breaks the immersion. Also, I didn't hear any interactions between Sojourn and Rammatra in the compilation for their pre-match dialogue. Which is weird.

No they did not release it after backlash. The first mission was shown like 2 years ago, plus 3 more missions. This is nothing. It was supposed to be a whole game, but they cancelled it and released 4 missions as a dlc. That was what the backlash was about. All this time, all these promises of a new game when they actually were not making a new a game at all. All lies. Just an excuse to change the shopping system.
It is like there is 0 stakes in these missions and you cannot die, they should have made them way harder with enemies with moveset from like Doom Eternal.
How does the underworld mission fit into the lore? If Lucio is with Overwatch, then it's after Rio's mission, but Torb is there too, and he is supposed to be staying in Gothenburg after the Ironclad mission. I guess the underworld mission is not fully canon??

It's actually quite jarring seeing OW's PvP gameplay applied to PvE. None of the character abilities are designed for this kind of thing. There's no swarm control, no blocking, resurrecting teammates looks awkward. And all the enemies seem to do is slowly trod towards you and pew pew with slow turn radius. Comparing this to L4D or Vermintide makes you realize how much they didn't do to adapt OW to PvE. Cutscenes are dope tho.

Well, the story up til now has been told over numerous years through animated shorts, missions, comics, lore etc. The annoying thing really is that its been kinda unclear how stuff falls in the timeline. Blizzard were pretty sloppy with how much lore they told over time. The first mission is set after the events of "Zero Hour" (the animated cinematic announcing Overwatch 2) and goes from there.
