You improved yourself in an uncomfortable situation while creating an amazing piece of content. Sorry you had to deal with that level of toxicity but that person could learn a thing from you. Great 10/10 video. Subscribed 👍
Your genji was actually pretty impressive. It definitely is not at the masters level but I think for never playing him it was quite impressive. A few quick tips that I noticed in the video, 1. Use your melee more with genji. Dash right click melee is how i secure 99% of my kills with genji. 2. Learn how to dash at targets without overshooting them. Especially during blade this is important, you can aim at their feet to stop dashing so you won’t fly past them and can instantly follow up! Hope someone finds this useful ❤
It's so nice hearing you talk about the toxicity that one can experience playing this kind of games. I myself sometimes think about how bad someone is playing until I imagine other possibilities about why they're playing like that, maybe they're practicing, maybe it's their first time playing or they're trying a new character. It rlly helps me calm down and be less salty since I also wouldn't like if someone tries to be mean to me while I'm trying my best. Anyways, love the vid
It's the scuffed matchmaking that exacerbates the toxicity that you experience in all fps games. Some players are simply out of their depth and depending on their viewpoint they'll start blaming the teammates when it not their fault they going against diamond/master/grandmaster players.
As a genji main myself, I want to take time to say how much I appreciate the last included bit. It’s a serious issue with how much words can hurt someone’s self image and discourage them from playing how they want to. I actually was scarred from competitive for a while because of how nasty people were to me when I first started out playing Genji, I refused to play competitive after those words and I was ashamed to even be playing Genji because of what they said. I played quick play for over 100 hours on genji, and it’s only until now when I saw this video that it allowed me to finally get back my confidence and try competitive again, no matter what anyone says about how I play. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for this video, it’s so much more than just entertainment and it inspired me to play competitive again :))
a cannon Genji event, a soldier kept insulting my genji whenever we were in the same game, i took a break from competitive to hone my skills in quickplay, went back into comp, and started climbing again. ill always remember that soldier and while what he said wasn't okay it was needed to help me improve
i wish more people heard that last message. i get frustrated by my team's performance all the time but i never ever flame them for it as nothing positive comes from it. i hope more people share the same sentiment. also, sorry you encountered that toxic individual. this vid wasnt for nothing and your work is great man
Damn you've barely even touched some of the most fun heroes... Your missing out, Junker queen, echo, Ramattra, are all insanely fun and some of my favorites. But 2 hours on Genji is criminal he's easily top 3 most fun characters to play in the entire game
Thank you for making this video. Im a new player to Overwatch 2 with about 40+ hours in. I have encountered quite a few toxic lobbies. Fortunately im an old man (47) so I just laugh at those sad individuals who hurl insults at me for being trash while im still learning the game. Never let anybody bring you down and never apologise to these people. Keep up the great work and youve just earnt a sub. :)
Woah, thought you were a big TH-camr for a second. Definitely gonna watch more, this type of content is very interesting and your editing style is great
Glad u were calm, and loved the honest talk .. ur now your content is not just about enjoying the game. Its also about self improvement .. so thumbs up 👍🏼 and keep up the hard work man love ur content 👌🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼
Wow. Okay so I have never related as muchhhhh to an OW video as I did to this one and I have been playing OW for yeaaars. But this week I started doing this exact same thing with genji. Years of never touching him and all of a sudden using him. I havent played any other hero besides him in the last 4 days and this video resonated with me. I feel the pain you felt going through that INSANE learning curve. I still have a loooot to improve on but I have gotten much better, and it’s so enjoyable and satisfying getting some deflect/ult kills. Loved the video and the ending was cheff’s kiss. I have been toxic before, for sureee. But I’ll remember this video tomorrow when I hop on again. Great job bro, loved it!!!
I almost never watch TH-cam videos without skipping 10 seconds every minute, you actually made me watch the full video without skipping parts. Really entertaining, you deserve to reach a million subs
Genji is a character that so many people find it cool and want to play but very few actually manages to play actually good. As a fellow old top 500 player back in overwatch 1 and a genji main I find your gameplay and progress pretty sick. And also getting toxicity is like a part of playing genji. Even if you do well you will get hated on lol. Those people can say those because they are typing that from a keyboard behind a monitor so they are nothing more than a coward. You did great man!
All I have to say is wow. This is the most wholesome and heartwarming video I've found on TH-cam in a while. That verse at the end is really something special and not something you often see on here. It really tugged on my heartstrings and reminded me of one of my favorite passages, "And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life,[a] and set on fire by hell." - James 3:6 ESV. Words can really be used as the most destructive weapon in the wrong hands, but God is good and don't forget that even when you get really popular on TH-cam because I know you will be one day! I would love to talk more about this more over a game of OW sometime. Either way, you got a new subscriber and I can't wait to see what new videos will come next! 👍
14:45 i felt you there. Most people are mad because they don't have alot going in their life and loosing just ramps up their frustration. I have won alot of games by just cheering up teammates. The psychological war is real. Loved the video btw played genji alot and i learned almost all characters the way you do. Playing around 10 hours playing just that char :)
i'm so sorry about your comp experience man :(( i have hundreds of hours of genji and yeah i have also experienced it, not giving up is the key tho. i enjoyed this video a lot so yeah subscribed :)) keep going man
Awesome video mate im a long time Genji main myself and you learned so much so fast, was so sick to see! 😛💯 Also amazing to see you address toxicity it ruins games so much 😭
I did not expect this video to take me on a journey but ooh boy was I wrong. Major respect for sticking to your guns and wadding through the mud that is toxicity- something I have trouble with as I never played OW1. Needless to say, I am looking forward to future videos with great anticipation. Keep it up!
I'll just say that before the nerf and somehow at the season of the nerf I had close to 80% win rate with genji but in this season I have 44% its tough to win when playing solo queue. nice motivation of playing him for 10h. nice video and keep it up
u really made genji look so simple. no matter what anyone says dont stop making videos. tbh this is the first video that i watched frrom ur channel. it was fun. keep going man
I expected a high sub count, but holy. Don't listen to those idiots at the end, just keep thriving while they just have hatred in them. I hope you grow and do well! good luck!
yeah ive run into toxicity before aswell, and it sucks, you know what sucks even more than just toxicity, toxicity in UNRANKED, im pretty new and was playing junker queen and this one guy in text chat would not stop telling me to switch and was just being horrid, i then proceeded to perform a game saving ult alone and got a team kill and that guy shut up real fast lol. you had some sick plays man you got sooo good at genj
Honestly such a fun video and seeing your growth and process of getting better throughout the video was fun to watch. Also the way you handled the toxicity and the moral at the end about staying positive was very nice. Cant wait to watch more of your stuff in the future! 👍
I’ve attempted the same thing but gave up after 5 hours of losing every game, but your video has encouraged me to push past it and try genji out again, thank you for this and your help
Love your videos bro I just started watching your videos yesterday and I’m hooked on your “I spent 10 hour” videos because it shows that playing one character and going on after the losses can really be worth it
I'm a brand new overwatch player trying to learn the game and I really enjoyed this video! It was cool seeing you play genjii even tho he isn't "meta" or whatever. I think playing heroes you enjoy and making them work rather than just playing whatever hero is best is the best thing to do. Toxicity sucks in video games, I don't think people realize how much it hurts people. The good news however is that it goes the other way too! Saying something nice to players in your games makes the experience for them so much more enjoyable even if they are losing, I know it makes me have more fun. Love the bible verse at the end too btw =D
Thank you for these vids, i just started playing OW litterally 3 days ago and Im having a blast playing support heroes! The segment at the end really hit me, almost every game our tank runs off on their own and rages at me for not being a good healer lmao
Man I hate the toxicity this game has, I'm recently trying to learn how to play genji (I have 12 hours played with him) I play on console so I think it's more difficult to learn because he's a very fast mobility character, And it turns out that there is almost always someone in the chat talking badly about how I'm playing, which is quite discouraging to continue playing Genji.
You and this video are amazing. After watching this i wanted to see how many subs you had and i was shocked at how little you had because of the quality of this video. Your way of thinking and and sense of humor are amazing. Keep it up man.
This was an amazing video! I'm so sorry that you had to go beyond you comfort zone, playing a character you don't have much experience with and then deal with such toxicity, some of the members on your team needed serious help.
As a ps4 genji main, i wish i could be as good as you with the 135 hours I've clocked into this game since overwatch 2's release. Guess i gotta keep up that grind. Great video man!
I’m a genji main in gm3 played since overwatch 1 season 4. I’m proud that you got through this challenge. I struggled playing genji at the beginning but ignored the backlash that i’d get for being so shit and got better. Don’t feel like you’re a hostage while playing genji, just have fun as best you can.
I went through this pain in overwatch 1 as a Genji main, even if i don't play the game anymore i will still always be a Genji main, great gameplay my guy. Loved seeing you improving on Genji!
Most people aren’t playing to get better, they’re playing to win- which ironically is why there stuck and losing. Winning (consistently) is the combined result of mechanical conditioning and refinement of awareness. People complaining about you practicing in a competitive environment are projecting there own inadequacies.
I’ve played genji to a master level on pc and console he just isn’t in a great spot second you have fun Moria, zar, sym. He’s also hard to heal cause of his movement. His blade is just to draw out every support ult in the game. To make it worse almost everyone in the game had movement. Blade also doesn’t kill anyone who’s mercy pocketed it needs a buff 🗿
The blade nerf is the dumbest shit in the world imo. Not being able to kill a 200hp target with a pocket after a dash and 5 swings is ridiculous. Genji by far has the least reward for the amount of effort he takes, but the devs think pick rate means he's in a good spot even though that's exclusively because he's fun.
Genji is a all around fun character to play I know his kit it weird but in my opinion he’s the best dam support dps I still suck with him even though I have 160 hours on him but that doesn’t mean that I was winning or losing I was just having fun with an amazing character and to all my other Genji mains I need healing
how does this man not have more subscribers?? i rarely watch videos all the way through and this one kept me all the way through. not to mention the editing and humor was amazing. subbed and cant wait for more content:)
bro I completely get you at the end of the video about toxicity. There is just people out there that just don't know what their saying can cause such negative things to someone's overall wellbeing.
Amazing video I watched the whole thing and at the end went to see ur channel and expected u to have a lot of subs ur video is super welll edited and great quality definitely will recommend to my friends
I recently started grinding on genji as a potential main and this video is super helpful and equally entertaining. Glad you addressed toxicity in a positive way cuz it can be really stressful playing let alone enjoying such games with the bombardment of negative and mean comments. Keep up the content we'll support you no matter what!😊
I didn't know I needed this video until now, thanks to you my motivation to keep playing as Genji and getting better with him is back, thank you so much!!! nice video as well
Glad u pushed through the toxicity, Nifty. It was a very entertaining video, as a viewer - thank you for your patience and endurance. Keep up the good work!
your video wasn’t useless man i learned alot from watching you play, i wanna be a genji main too but im hardstuck silver but with better positioning and more flanks i’ll probably do better and you helped to bring out that positivity that i really needed. after every lost game or win it was always negative saying i was the reason we won bc the supports were bad or tank was but i would throw myself in the fight with no point
Loved the verse reference at the end! Reminds me of Proverbs 18:21 there’s life and death in the tongue, just your words alone can make or break someone
I really love your videos and they encourage me to actually try different characters, your video ideas are never stupid and I hope you know you're an amazing player, content creator and teacher (to some degree) 💖
this video couldnt have come out at a more perfect time, that bit in the end is exactly what i needed at this point of my life. thank you niftyy, God bless.
I was legit surprised you only had 800 subs, I thought it's 800K, I really like the editing style and wish you the best. Also remember, when people trash talk you, it's an Overwatch competitive fan. You shouldn't take them to heart. I am actually quite garbage with Genji and I have legit not got a single ranked game where nobldy said anything negative about me which kinda makes me sad. Then I remember it's an Overwatch player so I go on happily with my day. (I have like a rocking hard 2 hours as Genji)
this is the first 10 hour genji vid were the gamer actually get s good with genji and fuck them haters in the game you did great and this is surprisingly high quality
Honestly man this is a great video! I’m one of those guys who love a cool character and yet suck at them (Sheik and Greninja in Smash and especially Genji in this game). And your speech regarding toxicity really hit close to home as I was reluctant to play Genji due flaming, even in Quickplay. Heck this even extends to LoL when I can’t even play ONE casual normal game without being criticised for playing a character I want to learn. Just wanna say, keep on slaying it bro
This video helped me and was also entertaining all the way through, to say the least it wasn't pointless and I get tired of just playing one role over and over so I couldn't imagine the frustration of doing it with a character. Loved the ending of the video and the positive message to finish it off. You definitely got a sub and a like from me, keep on the grind!
As a genji main I felt all of this from starting Genji for the 1st time to the toxicity now present in ranked. This was great gameplay, lovely editing and engaging topics. 10/10 Liked and subscribed
I really appreciate these videos, it helps me (support main) branch out and learn from your mistakes and figure out the learning curve. Thank you! Not pointless.
Niftty I just found your channel and im happy you didn't let the toxic teammates get to your head but kept pushing through it as I said I just found you, but I already love you y know! keep at it bro, great vid
I agree with the talk abt toxicity. I remember when I first joined ow a few weeks ago and did unranked, I wanted to practice with widow and I got laughed at by the enemy team when I couldn’t aim properly. As somebody who’s new to these types of shooting games (I’ve never played any shooting games before), it actually made me want to regret trying out the game. However, for some reason, I didn’t give up despite being affected by what people say and now, after three weeks, I’m still playing 🥹 I just want to say is that, nobody should diss anyone for how they play. You don’t know if they’re new, or if they’re learning a new character. Not all people can take that toxicity, because words are like bullets at times :(
this was a really great motivator and i wanna pick him up again, recently i had a game where i wanted to play genji so i can get more practice with him, since i only have like 1 or 2 hours on him, and i went up against a way better genji than i and i was frustrated the entire time and went negative and at the end got bullied by the enemy and my own team and that was super demoralizing for me but i think i’m going to keep playing as him and try to be better, thank you for the awesome video
You improved yourself in an uncomfortable situation while creating an amazing piece of content. Sorry you had to deal with that level of toxicity but that person could learn a thing from you. Great 10/10 video. Subscribed 👍
Thank you so much! 😊
@@Niftty ur video defines every genji when they goes from quick play to ranked and finds that its a entire different world.
Genji scary

His blade is just to draw out every support ult in the game. To make it worse almost everyone in the game had movement. Blade also doesn’t kill anyone who’s mercy pocketed it needs a buff 🗿
Yeah, he was really hard to play, there's not much room for error in his kit, especially in higher ranks. IMO
I love the structure of your videos, the start, the build up, the fails, the wins and the memes.
Genji is a all around fun character to play I know his kit it weird but in my opinion he’s the best dam support dps I still suck with him even though I have 160 hours on him but that doesn’t mean that I was winning or losing I was just having fun with an amazing character and to all my other Genji mains I need healing
how does this man not have more subscribers?? i rarely watch videos all the way through and this one kept me all the way through. not to mention the editing and humor was amazing. subbed and cant wait for more content:)
i love how this guy hearts a lot of the comments this guy is so chill i main genji and the toxicity is honestly boosting
🥰
this video was really amazing and the reason y i started disstancing from games is toxicity and im sorry to hear you had to go thru that
bro I completely get you at the end of the video about toxicity. There is just people out there that just don't know what their saying can cause such negative things to someone's overall wellbeing.
Amazing video I watched the whole thing and at the end went to see ur channel and expected u to have a lot of subs ur video is super welll edited and great quality definitely will recommend to my friends
Thank you! 🥰
I recently started grinding on genji as a potential main and this video is super helpful and equally entertaining. Glad you addressed toxicity in a positive way cuz it can be really stressful playing let alone enjoying such games with the bombardment of negative and mean comments. Keep up the content we'll support you no matter what!😊
this isn’t pointless. you got out your comfort zone (: you even had fun while playing which is amazing.
I'm writing here to let you know that I've watched all the 10hours videos, and I'm literally waiting for the next ones to come! Keep it up!
Thank you so much for this video I was really down when playing genji but this has helped motivate me to pick him up again and keep at it thank you.
I'm glad it helped 🥰👍
your video wasn’t useless man i learned alot from watching you play, i wanna be a genji main too but im hardstuck silver but with better positioning and more flanks i’ll probably do better and you helped to bring out that positivity that i really needed. after every lost game or win it was always negative saying i was the reason we won bc the supports were bad or tank was but i would throw myself in the fight with no point
How is it even possible to be as underrated as u? Great vid!
Loved the verse reference at the end! Reminds me of Proverbs 18:21 there’s life and death in the tongue, just your words alone can make or break someone
"Mistakes always precede victory"
Genji Shimada
A quote that I really like and the community should take to heart
welcome to overwatch, this is what overwatch does to your mentality
That ending segment earned yourself a sub. Love the truth that you spoke, amazing video man keep up the good work.
Underated channel, i thought u had 100k sub but u deserve it.
I really love your videos and they encourage me to actually try different characters, your video ideas are never stupid and I hope you know you're an amazing player, content creator and teacher (to some degree) 💖
bro, ur underrated af. nice plays, good ideas, impressive montage
this video couldnt have come out at a more perfect time, that bit in the end is exactly what i needed at this point of my life. thank you niftyy, God bless.
Now it's 8k ^^😊
@@themysticsmoothglider2243 Good! 👍👍
this is the first 10 hour genji vid were the gamer actually get s good with genji and fuck them haters in the game you did great and this is surprisingly high quality
W video, W mindset, W improvement W Bible verse
This video helped me and was also entertaining all the way through, to say the least it wasn't pointless and I get tired of just playing one role over and over so I couldn't imagine the frustration of doing it with a character. Loved the ending of the video and the positive message to finish it off. You definitely got a sub and a like from me, keep on the grind!
500th subscriber, how do you not have more? your plays are so good!
As a genji main I felt all of this from starting Genji for the 1st time to the toxicity now present in ranked. This was great gameplay, lovely editing and engaging topics. 10/10
Liked and subscribed
as someone who got to gm on genji, you got so much better from the start of the video to the end. you can definetly play genji on ranked
I really appreciate these videos, it helps me (support main) branch out and learn from your mistakes and figure out the learning curve. Thank you! Not pointless.
You are such a under rated content creator
Niftty I just found your channel and im happy you didn't let the toxic teammates get to your head but kept pushing through it
as I said I just found you, but I already love you y know!
keep at it bro, great vid
You inproved yourself, that talk at the end was real stuff right there man thanks for speaking out
I agree with the talk abt toxicity. However, for some reason, I didn’t give up despite being affected by what people say and now, after three weeks, I’m still playing 🥹
I just want to say is that, nobody should diss anyone for how they play. You don’t know if they’re new, or if they’re learning a new character. Not all people can take that toxicity, because words are like bullets at times :(
Also I love your yt content :)))
Keep going w the fun challenges bc I also motivates me to keep practicing too 🫵
Well said 👏 and thank you very much 😊
That sucks. People who get mad and make fun of bad players in QP are miserable, for the most part.
A tip I learned to be more effective: secondary fire before every ability, including Dragonblade.
This was a great video man keep playing who you want!!
this was a really great motivator and i wanna pick him up again, recently i had a game where i wanted to play genji so i can get more practice with him, since i only have like 1 or 2 hours on him, and i went up against a way better genji than i and i was frustrated the entire time and went negative and at the end got bullied by the enemy and my own team and that was super demoralizing for me but i think i’m going to keep playing as him and try to be better, thank you for the awesome video
good vid, dont let those people bring you down
Damn the edits are top tier, ggs bro!
0:53 this part was epic😂
😂 thanks, I thought so, too
I just found your channel and i’ve already decided that you are the best OW creator, keep it up!!
bro this is my first time watching you and wow you're very underrated and i honestly love your editing style
Dude your awesome keep making videos and may God bless you!
just found this dude in my recommendations and the quality of this video is insane, bro is underrated af
