- The 2019 Overwatch Story Mode Campaign Missions! These are available to play during the Overwatch Archives Event. This is a compilation of gameplay and cutscenes from all three co-op missions for your enjoyment. All are fun and worth checking out! I wonder if Overwatch 2 will be like this...

Ramattra specifically has been in development since 2017
In the recall cinematic, you can actually see Sojourn’s profile picture flash by when Winston initiates the recall. So sojourn may have been a concept for 6+ years

I noticed that too, recently. But then again a couple of cinematics also seem to have lore inconsistencies. Like how in the museum cinematic, during the little informational video the two brothers are watching, Bastion, Lúcio, and Zenyatta are shown standing amongst the members of Overwatch despite never actually being members prior to their disbandment. I think there's another cinematic that has a similar problem, showing a character in a place they shouldn't belong.
Blizzard: Overwatch has a story, and we have missions to play through within it.
Me: Cool, are you gonna add it to the game?
Blizzard: Yes, but only for a limited time.
Me: But... why though?

@@nahaight1373 archives are about the past of overwatch while overwatch 2 is about the actual story and future, overwatch 2 story mode is the first story we're getting since winston's recall
I want a single player game for Overwatch so bad. I feel like the characters and lore are interesting enough to warrant a single player story mode
And it could stand as a tutorial of sorts without actually being one, like after a few missions you switch between prominent characters in the story.

@@imsickinlove no- it's either you pay to unlock him immediately, or go through the worst level grind I have ever seen to like.. level 44 or something- I've been playing for a few days and am only around level 10, in the old overwatch I would've been to level 30 or something by now.

it's so stupid they made this a limited time event, it's a huge part of what i wanted out of overwatch
I remembered being excited for these story modes because the main reason that I started playing Overwatch was because of the story mode that they offered. I hope we get more Archive stories along with the current story. There is still lot to tell of Overwatch's past and future

I can't wait to play these!! It'd be really cool if they had a talon mission too!! (Like, an older one probably. Using talon widow, sombra, reaper and Sombra) itd be more challenging too because of the skill you need for Doom or Widow!

Trying to beat these missions on the hardest difficulty with randoms was some of the most fun I ever had in OW. Little did I know, they were the only PVE content we'd receive before ActiBliz killed the game.

It's part of the Archives event every April. Hopefully they add more story based stuff into the game! We'll see at Blizzcon this year :D

When you be playing Uprising on No Limits and your mate decides he wants to play as Bastion in the Null Sector skin so you spend a good portion of the mission accidentally shooting at him....
Question for you lot:
Which of these three missions were the hardest for you personally?
For me, the hardest was the Blackwatch mission because it was my very first one. Me and my friends had a blast anyways and this was also my introduction to becoming a Reaper main.
Uprising was my first one. It was a little bit difficult, but eventually got the hang of it. With the others ones I already knew what to expect so they were definitely a lot easier for me on normal mode.
@@FrozenJedi38 Looking back on these missions, I’ve changed a lot since then. I’ve gotten better, play Competitive a lot more, and I’ve basically become a Moira/Soldier:76/Roadhog main.
The one most difficult to win was Retribution. But not because of the difficulty of the mission itself, but because back in the day you only could complete it, if all your teammates were willing to jump into the f*cking evacuation-aircraft instead of going for some additional kills and dying in the process. So frustrating ugh! -_-
If they don’t add these to Overwatch 2 permanently once the Story PvE comes out I will be more than angry 💀💀

This game desperately needs these story missions back. Make an entire story mode.
Overwatch goes heavy with the story and dialogue. The CG marketing videos, the trailers, dialogue interactions. Etc. but. I’d say only 40-50% of people who play Overwatch now, don’t go out of their way to look this stuff up. And don’t actually pay any attention to what these characters are saying. The story seems really entertaining, and interesting. Why they’d take these missions out is beyond me. But we need them back. Plus some.

Uprising has always been by favorite Overwatch event. I LIVE for the lore and the stories actually give some pretty good EXP.

I’m relatively new to the series and only downloaded OW2 cause it was free, I’d definitely love to see something like this in OW2
These were never permanent in OW1, they were on an event cycle like junkenstein revenge, and just like jukenstein game mode, these missions will return :)
We only have to wait until February for the new PvE events to come out, I hope…
