Diva dance has a part where you hear 2 voices and Dimash can do many things but not sing with 2 voices at the same time. 😂😂😂😂

There is another live version of this from his concert in Bastia & it is slightly different & I think there you will find that iconic impossible vocal that the diva dance is known for

Could you react to a English teacher Tom Ball who was firston BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT and then a few weeks ago AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. He is so talented and I love his last song on the British contest I WHO HAVE NOTHING. On the American contest he did his own version of SOUND OF SILENCE. Next after that Tom did CREEP and then WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER. The one I would like you to react to is the third from the British competition I WHO NOTHING as it show cases his iuncredibly ability. He will never be as good as Dimash but he is number two equal to GABRIEL HENRIQUE..

8:30 in the video is the so-called alien part, i.e. the part where Inva Mula obviously had to have the help of a computer because no human can make all these funny sounds. As far as I know, Dimash has made 4 different versions of Diva Dance. I think he masters all 4 versions beautifully and effortlessly. Thank you so much for a great reaction :-)

Just wanted to take a step back and note that everyone demands the impossible from Dimash, and that really says everything one can say about the kind of artist Dimash is. We really treat him like he beamed in from another galaxy XD

Reminds me of Larry Bird in basketball. Everybody demanded he never miss a shot, so when he did miss a shot, they treated it like it was impossible for him to miss. That tells you just how good he was, and his profound following.

Dimash doesn't do "the impossible part" in this performance (he replaces it with that short line of staccati) but he does do "the impossible part" in his performance from Bastau. He also does it higher at Bastau (iirc). All around, the Bastau performance is just more dialed in and polished. AND it's just the Diva Dance without any extra song attached so, y'know, bonus.

I think if you look into the English translation, as well as the motive behind the creation of Confessa, You'll probably gain a deeper understanding of WHY Dimash performed Confessa the way that he did. I was the same as you at first as far as his low portion of the song almost throughout (save for the climactic ending), wasn't a big fan of it until that point. But once I got a better grasp of the motive behind the song itself, I started having a change of mind.

This is his first public performance for Diva Dance and it was only 2 weeks after he lost his voice right after Autumn Strong where he sang sick! The same song was also performed at the Bastau a Kazachstan concert in 2018 in perfect health and sounded much better, then together with Li Yugang in a duet (this being a Chinese performer specialized in singing soprano arias in traditional Chinese opera ) ! All 3 interpretations are above what other established interpreters could offer, apart from the soprano + the computer from the original film! It is the right of every listener, music connoisseur or not, to have a personal opinion motivated by personal choices regarding how to approach each performance, we are not robots, we each feel and experience music differently, that is why all professional performers have a place on the music market some better others less good, this ranking often being the result of popularity, not of interpretive qualities because most awards in this field are given to those with commercial success, not necessarily the best. The subjectivism of these classifications is also accentuated by the option of the western mass media to ignore performers with, say, over 600,00,000 views of a piece in a single day in favor of some with 33,000,000 views in a month just because the over 600,000,000 would be Chinese, therefore uneducated communists, and the 33,000,000 would be democrats from the west, therefore educated! Appearances are deceiving, politics and commerce mixed with art are deceiving! The fact that at an exceptional opera concert several thousand paying spectators are present in a hall, and at an average level concert several hundred thousand spectators sit and listen in delirium in a stadium should wake us up, should to motivate us to study more, to accept that its value and commercial result are not directly related but are mediated by advertising, petty interests and even the lack of culture. I will not believe even in the sleep of reason that we know what is born that someone uneducated will appreciate the Japanese kabuki theater in favor of the classical one of European origin (be it ancient Greek, or a frothy comedy from the Middle Ages or a really serious play by Shakespeare, or a more modern one by Eugen Ionescu! In my humble opinion, you, as a person educated at the highest level, must also assume this role of educator of the people who follow you! Even assuming the potential of losing part of the obtuse audience! I know it's not easy, for me it's obvious that you have to make choices, and some can be painful, but I like to believe that you will always make honest choices that are in full agreement with your personality. In the end, even if you choose wrong, it is important to choose honestly!

You are so stuck on ‘the …operatic….rules of singing’, Maggie.
I seriously doubt that any more than 5% of Dimash’s variety of audiences look through those British/European operatic eyes and listen through those ears.
With his Master’s Degree in Musical Composition and his personal desire to sing crossover, I would think that singing from his heart is way more important. It certainly sounds good or better to those of us who can easily enjoy his offerings as they are intended.
Then there is the Chinese/Asian/Kazakh aspect to consider where your standards are probably not given preference except in your standard theatres.
Being British makes you a member of only 1 race of people, and the Empire is gone now.
Now, since Dimash has hit the airwaves, all cultures have equal value.
He has achieved in just a few short years what no one else (outside of Jesus) has been able to accomplish…..and this is all part of his great destiny for this age on earth.

  • @wbrenne
    @wbrenne ปีที่แล้ว +18

He skipped the impossible part in this performance and replaced it with a bunch of staccato notes.
The closest he got to the impossible part is in the performance at the Bastau concert with a minor rearrangement of the notes. The duet with Beijing opera singer Li Yugang is impressive in its own right with the seamless interjection of a whistle note where the impossible part is supposed to be.

This particular performance is my favorite total performance. It was carefully crafted that Confessa was downplayed to focus on the transition to the Diva Dance which is why I love it so much. Dimash doesn’t HAVE to use all his vocal skills in every song which is his genius. Do not underestimate Dimash’s judgment on how to project a song. He’s in TOTAL control from top to bottom.
What do you think of the MVs of ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS and BE WITH ME as well as SCREAMING. I’m on Patreon presently so you probably won’t pay attention to my suggestions, but that’s ok. If you listen/watch these on your own time, you will see more sides of this musical genius. Peace ❤

I've generally trusted your comments about, and analysis of, Dimash as well as a number of other singers, but I'm puzzled on this one.
Looking at the performance as two songs, obviously set one against the other, I have no problem with how he "laid back" on the first song. Four native Italians, vocal coaches and professional singers here on YT, have noted that Dimash "sings like an Italian" in Confessa and that his Italian is as good as any non-Italian could do it. When Diva arrived, everything changed, of course. The intensity rolled into place and he chose an arrangement suited to his purposes. There is at least one other performance of Diva, mentioned by another commenter, that adds things not in the SInger 2017 version. I'm not sure what you meant when you said there was a "surprise" that you missed.
Given that, perhaps you ought to have waited until both songs were finished before making any judgment.

I don’t think it’s that much a question of maturity for his Confessa performance, it’s a matter of meaning. To understand why he’s singing it like that you have to understand the lyrics. It’s about a man asking his beloved why she has changed and doesn’t love him anymore. He starts with a quiet complaint, like he’s crying, and then screams in incomprehension ("Ma perche tu sei un’altra donna/Ma perche tu non sei piu tu" = "But why are you another woman/But why are you not yourself anymore"). Makes sense for him to scream at that moment, he’s asking her a question with a lot of desperation, while before that he was just crying quietly.

I like the stark contrast between the two songs. Agree, for my taste too, that that switch from soft to belting was a bit harsh, but remember this was nearly 6 years ago. His transitions is a lot more nuanced now { well... it depends which piece we're looking at, sometimes he still like to shock! } and his development of his lower rage is lovely; very full and rich. 😉😍

When you're as famous and well respected as Dimash then you might have earned the right to criticise, until then go away and practice on your upper register because you still don't sound as good as he does when he first started on his journey and you have been reacting to him for years. Use him as a learning tool instead of thinking you know better than he does.

Hi my Princess missing you. In fact It is not my favorite version.
I , really, really , really love your reaction of DIMASH singing Drunk Concubina. I am sure you will be surprise with the duet he made with a male opera singer from China called Li Yuo
Please if you could I would be so so happy.
Hugs from Brazil to you dear Megg🇧🇷💐💐💐💐💐

If you take this song, as part of the performance as one smaller piece, he is saving the hard work and payoff for the extremely challenging Diva Dance. In the Fifth Element version, it's sung by a gifted female singer, who was augmented electronically in her performance. Dimash does it all. As a guy. Really, really talented guy.
I'd save most of my energy for part deux also 😁

Check out Ado. She has an amazing voice and insane range. Shes 19 and provided the singing voice for the character Uta in One Piece Film Red. My 3 favorites are Tot Musica, Backlight, and New genesis. All of her videos are animated and shes been around for a while but became more well known for the with the movie role. Also try Attack on Titan All Opening they have orchestras and choirs in some of them. The 7th opening The Rumbling by SiM is my favorite. Give them a shot there are so many incredible artists in Anime opening and endings.

@ Maggie Renee.....Dimash stays "off" with the voice because because that's what the song/ lyrics call for. You were speaking about his Italian pronunciation . Did you understand the song? Maybe you should find the original and check it out.
The " impossible part" is digitally done in the movie. 🙄

I really don’t like most of The singer performances because I feel Dimash wasn’t really comfortable on his songs and he just wanted to impressed but that’s what is think, I truly love the evolution he had, his present concerts are just mindblowing, you should react to his recent performances
