    I sing this song when I'm in the shower and my dogs think I'm dying and try desperately to break the door down and my neighbors think someone is being murdered.

    Maggi my DEAR!…….With beautiful chords from the “KOBYZ” (a two-string Kazakh instrument), Dimash give us a high level of mastery and perfection of his voice. He runs through 5 octaves (C2-F6) soft, DEEP, high, modulations and beautiful melismas to finish on a sustained note of madness in 19.52 seconds (F#5)…..Greetings from a Mexican Dear! 👏🏻❤️🇲🇽🇰🇿

    Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏
    Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”
    The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝

  • @martinhafner2201
    @martinhafner2201 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    So much happening in this song. The kobyz or qobyz is at least a couple thousand years older than the cello and violin and is their ancestor.
    It comes from Dimash's area around Kazakhstan, which is really big and an old crossroads between Europe and the East.
    I think Cossack is just another way of spelling Kazakh in terms of ancient history and terminology in that area.
    This was the first song with him going this low except for maybe a subharmonic/throat-bass note in his duet with Li Yugang.
    The fluttery vibrato sound in the phrase after the beautiful vocal breaks is a style common to various Islamic areas and generally referred to as a turkic style. I think some of it involves shaking the vocal chords for an induced shock vibrato, but I'm not sure.
    It is quite a production involving a composer, a lyricist, 2 arrangers and certainly a choreographer.
    The camera was clearly driving through the "acolytes" but I did not see a track, so maybe wheels, a very smooth stage and a good shake resistant camera suspension.

    Wow, your reactions from a singer's viewpoint are both insightful and full of technical detail. But you asked for suggestions of some of his other post-Singer work. Clearly he has done a ton of work in any/all genres, but I'll restrict myself to several of the best:
    -- Samaltau (Tokyo Jazz 2020 is the standout version) -- Kazakh traditional (with the Kobyz player but much more elaborate) and sung with such passion and sweetness;
    -- Ti Amo Cosi (with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina) -- beautiful duets and a rousing trio to finish (though I like Ulisse from the same concert even more);
    -- Know (several great versions but my fave is the New Wave 2019) -- hauntingly beautiful minor key melody finishing with an EXPLOSION of technique, improv, scat, high soprano etc, and don't forget the burning stage and flying mystery woman;
    -- Be With Me (*Official Music Video* is the one to see) -- a whole new side of Dimash, a pop tribute to MJ with rapping, swagger, barfights, catching the girl, where we see just how good an actor Dimash can be!!!
    And of course many other superb productions depending on your preference: Ikanaide, Okay, War & Peace, Omir Oter to name just a few.

      Thank you! Great comment - concise yet beautifully descriptive, in ways I can rarely manage to be - we do differ in some of our favoured performances though, so I hope you don't mind me adding my thoughts ('cause I'm going do so anyway, lol!😜) whilst I continue to work on keeping my comments under 5000 words or so!
      «Samaltau» - I 100% agree, that his home studio version for Tokyo Jazz is just epic, and continues to be one of my all-time favourite -Dimash- performances EVER! «Ti Amo Cosí» - beautiful, though not in my top 10; «Ulisse» on the other hand, is my favourite of all Dimash's duets, yet continues to be criminally under-reacted to online! «Know» - I was never really a fan of the song til his VTB performance changed my mind; I actually prefer his vocalise version, especially the one from the Kyiv/Kiev leg of his Arnau tour :) «Be With Me», the music video - yes, yes, YES! And of Dimash's more recent works, «Stranger» continues to battle with «Ikanaide» for my top spot, and his «Ave Maria» is just *stunning* - and likely to be the next Dimash reaction on the channel! I'm looking forward to it already :D

It's in Japanese...his Japanese diction is impeccable as per Japanese listeners. Not to mention the fact that his rendition is like a masterclass in dynamics. Other great songs of his to check out, Samaltau, Across Endless Dimension (unfortunately, his English diction isn't the best in that one). All worth checking out/reacting to.

    The production Maggie is Igor Krutoy who grabbed Dimash after the Chinese competition. He slightly full of himself if you watched the Dimash, Lara Fabian & Aida Garifullina sing together performance. You'll see Igor on the piano regularly congratulating himself at his absolute genius of putting the 3 together. Of course he's correct but the overwhelming sense of "How wonderful I am giving all you people this show" blurs the vision a little. It's quite comical. There is no doubt he is a genius but then again, all 3 singers are qualified to wear that crown.

    I watch a lot of Reactions from various Reactors and have been subscribed to your channel about a year. I must say that you are one of the best I've watched, you are the Dimash Kudaibergen of reactors. I am not sure if you have reacted to Dimash's version of "Ikanaide" from the Tokyo Jazz Fest 2021, if you haven't you really should? It will sound like the song "Autumn Strong", but the words are in Japanese and have a different translation.

  • @FlavianTicaDeme

    At the beginning he thanked for the applause received after the interpretation of the song Your Love, a song with the vocal spectrum from F2 to F6, not at all easy to sing. Even more impressive is the performance that followed! It is completely out of the ordinary how Dimash Qudaibergen manages to convey extremely different emotions by singing almost exactly the same lyrics but using different dynamics, a different key, a different timbre and different sound production techniques! It begins with the shyness and doubt of a stranger who enters a territory totally alien to him (when he plays in piano mode and with sounds surrounded by encouragement), he moves on to the desire to test his strength to achieve a new beginning in music. life. (then when he achieves that magnificent passage through the entire spectrum of his vocal range using very different singing techniques in each register) and finally reaches the power of the victorious hero who not only tried, not only fought but finally defeated him (when he shows us the power of his belt and that super long high note of 20 seconds)! I only marked 3 moments, but they were more because between the choruses there were 2 slightly different moments of narration, but both in their register under the bass-baritone and there was another chorus (in total there were 4 choruses and two parts a little more of the story , all in different dynamics, different tonalities and very different vocal techniques interpreted impeccably from a technical point of view, but also with strong emotional effects in the sense of an impressive and maximum effect on the public that practically listened to the almost entire song hypnotized) ! For me it was the perfect song of the moment and it was a sublime demonstration of how far Dimash Qudaibergen can progress even though he is already far above his contemporaries. In this song he covered from C2 to F6! The special instrument is called kobyz, it is made of a single piece of carved wood, lined with goatskin, with two strings of horse hair. It is a traditional tool for peoples of Turkish origin, such as the Kazakhs, and has been considered a magical tool used by shamans in healing rituals in particular!

      He can learn better English diction, without losing his Kazakh roots and essence. His beautiful music will be shared more and reach many more people if he does more songs in English. I also hope he never sells out to the current American Music Industry with their tasteless, hedonistic, boring pop music. The West needs to be reminded about how beautiful music can be~ we need more Dimash ❤️
