Glad to see you got to this one, it's one of his best vocal showcases, I think.
With regards to Dimash, I think people are so fascinated by him because not only does he defy existing voice classification, but he can do all the technical stuff without losing the "soul" of the performance. There are plenty of other artists who are able to match Dimash on high notes, but it's always very mechanical, nearly never done in a live setting, and usually takes away from the song rather than fit in with it.
Also, I think Dimash more easily changes registers (or what we identify as registers) more easily than most singers. In some interviews, he has stated that when he was young and first learning to sing, his parents and teachers did not describe limits of vocal ranges to him, so he came up not thinking of singing in terms of "what register does this note fit into" - which gave him the ability to see his voice as a single thing instead of multiple registers. That's why he blows the minds of so many established vocal coaches and singers - because he doesn't see the limitations that they were taught to. From what I understand, at an early age, Dimash was taught to "sing like a girl" because the choir he was a part of was filled with boys already - so he kept that vocal range through his puberty and didn't lose access to those notes, and that also explains why it seems so easy for him to do it, because he has ALWAYS been able to do it.
I think that Dimash is going to be a case study for a lot of vocal technique going forward. He's taken everything he felt like he needed from nearly every genre of music and created his own - some magical fusion of rock, pop and opera. He has converted people who never listened to opera AT ALL (like myself) into semi-educated folks with an appreciation for the talent it takes to do something like that.

Remember his mother is an opera star and I would imagine he was immersed until he could make up his mind which direction he wanted to go. So remember this is Dimash, I'm pretty sure he could jump into the stratosphere with his voice. It was a nice move. I don't think people realize how hard it is to sing that low part which dipped into the bass range and the walk up the octaves until he did what he did. I want to know what the lowest note he hit just before he started ascending? If you could mention it or leave a reply. Also if you could find his last note because it sounded a touch higher than the last high note.
Sorry he is a wonder of the world, I'd put him at one but you know those people who do those things are awfully touchy. I love it when people who work in the biz get flummoxed. Thanks for the great reaction. You are fun!!!

And because you mentioned Queen of the Night, Dimash hits F6 with staccato (!) in "Know" and adds some impressive vocalizations in the second half.

This song was written specifically for Dimash and the opening ceremony of the II European games in Minsk in 2019. It was the first work that Igor Krutoy and Liliya Vinogradova created for Dimash.
Dimash is an opera singer too and so he sings this song in Italian (the language of music), with an opera voice (Bariton - Sopran). No one else then Dimash can sing this song alone.
In December 2019, the song “Olimpico” performed by Dimash Kudaibergen became the “Song of the Year 2019” in Russia. The authors of the composition shared the triumph with the artist.
Olimpico was also the opening song of the first global online concert on January16 on the TIXR streaming platform since the global pandemic began.
Igor Krutoy, music titan in Russia (billionaire) and a world-famous composer who came out of retirement to work together with Dimash from time to time.
Lilia Vinogradova is known as a permanent co-author of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom has created wonderful works in the crossover genre.
Both created the cycle for DA Hvorostovsky, albums for Sumi Jo, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Aivazov, Lara Fabian and others. She says: 'And now we've added Dimash as a new element to our creative symbiosis.'

I'm extremely surprised that I haven't heard of or found any of Dimash's music until now. That song was highly emotive and soulful which I absolutely love listening to! Wow, to be able to have that kind of voice and vocal range, in a man, is incredible. I'm a girl, but even I have an incredibly hard time hitting high notes without severely straining my cords. I'm an mid-to-low register Alto, but I can reach and sing extremely well and comfortably in a low-registered Contralto as healthily as I can with formal training.
Because I have a hard time reaching those high notes, I substituted them with a falsetto instead but it sounds more of an overtoned falsetto to me at least, but I could be wrong in that regard. And I'm not classically trained either. Self taught mostly from watching TH-cam videos, but still.
ANYWAYS!! Dimash is an incredible singer and I'll definitely be adding his music to my Spotify playlist and TH-cam playlists as soon as possible. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Maggie!!

Dimash Kudaibergen became the guest of honor at the opening of the II European Games in Minsk in June 2019.
He performed his new song Ogni Pietra (Olympico) in Italian. During the performance at the Dynamo stadium, the flag of the European Olympic Committees appeared, which was carried by 6 people.
The author of the music is Igor Krutoy, the text is Lilia Vinogradova.
    Every stone
    Every stone and every flower
Our Earth was created for love
    We are its children
    Poets and heroes
The life is born and goes and will be forever.

    You are strong, you know!
    Be brave!
    You are strong, you know!
You are more powerful than your problems.
As fast as a noble heart
Catch up with it, embrace it
    [chorus: the young future]

    Go!
Do not stop in the middle of your path.
    Brotherhood and Liberty.
    This world really needs you.
    Go!
    Be yourself and be ourselves.
You can everything if you want it.
Always forward, ever forward, as long as you can!
    You can!

The world turns, although sometimes it makes you cry.
Only the love is the answer to the question “Why?”.
    Your mind is your spirit
    It will stay with you.

    You are strong, you know!
    Be brave!
    You are strong, you know!
You are more powerful than your problems.
As fast as a noble heart
Catch up with it, embrace it

Hello maggie. I love your analysis of Dimash. Thank you for taking the time, the great effort and your enthusiasm.
High notes, low notes, one or the other kinds of vocal acrobatics… but Dimash's singing technique does not define him, but rather narrows. If technique were the only thing that characterize him, we would refer to him as a “freak of nature” and that's all. But he's so much more than that! Hence his so many fans.
Dimash is an artist. His vocal abilities and stage presence are just a MEAN for telling a story and getting us emotionally involved (the purpose of art). He himself speaks about it in his interviews and says that what is important for him is telling a story and moving the listener.
I prefer to appreciate his exceptional musicality, his fine taste of phrasing, his interpretation, his deep understanding of music, his immense generosity when he sings with other singers… Voice virtuosity is a great virtue, but Dimash's most finesse abilities shines in the more intimate songs (like “Autumn Strong” from “I am a singer” competition, or “Love is like a dream” from Moscow, or his latest release “Thousands Of Miles A Common Dream”).
AND! You can't truly know Dimash without listening to his Kazakh songs.
As for the next song - you must understand that you can’t grasp/comprehend Dimash in one song or three or even ten. It’s a journey. YOUR journey. So you need to decide what is more important for you right now: if you want to discover his vocal ability, listen to the recommendations of the D8 and the Diva Dance; if you want to experience and to explore his heart and culture, I recommend the more intimate songs (those I mentioned above) or his Kazakh songs, like “Samaltau” (from the Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020), or “Adai+Daididau” (from the Bastau 2017 Concert) - both are in his channel.
In any case, if you truly thrilled by Dimash’s singing, you'll find the way to his music by your own. From my experience, it happens when you discover the person behind the voice. Eventually, you can’t separate between them.

Best reactor for Dimash. Your own hard work has paid off to! Nice high notes! You understand better than most what it takes to get an end product like this performance of Ogni Pietra. The years of training and struggle have yielded a diamond. I'm not musically trained in any way, but I heard something I've never heard before when I first stumbled across SOS.
