  • I got to test ride the Fat Boy 114 and really enjoyed it. I was surprised how well it turned with those fat tires and it pulled really hard with that 114. Future bike? We'll see in time.... :)

    Im a big fan of the fat boy just for the history behind the name and how the symbol was created.

      Yes, a lot of history behind this bike. Glad they didn't name it the Little Man :))

    They really, really did the FatBoy right. The looks are spot on, tires are perfect for it and motor is great (except the counterbalancers). I like it so much I'd even consider trading from my Limited and that says an awful lot. I think you found your next bike! Ride safe!!

      Now you have the bike a while how do you find it? Any problems with the rims or forks pitting with the weather

      @@danthechippie4439 no problem at all, but it's never been wet and kept in a dry garage.

    Road my first HD bike last week. Not really a HD fan,but the new bikes are real nice. Thank goodness there is variety in brands. A bike for each and every individual need. Hats off to HD for their new line ups. I understand now the draw to these bikes. Just a total different ride than others.

      Shawn Kuse Yeah, Harley is a class of motorcycle in itself. They ride and handle completely different than any other manufacturer. Also, like you mentioned, even their own bikes ride different than each other. I occasionally say that Harley makes a bike for everyone. Glad you enjoyed the test ride. They changed a great deal this year in their lineups.

    You should've talked about the differences in the Fatboy S You rode last year. Compared new vs old, Power difference etc. maybe you can talk about that in one of your upcoming videos

    Great video, and I was glad to see how much you like this bike this is my favorite bike and less week I bought me one, I can’t wait to get it home and taking it out.

      Fast-Action Jax thank you for the reply yeah all good I did just wasn’t sure about how many miles the dealer need to ride the bike will tuning it after a slip on exhaust replacement, They put on about 9 mils and from what I understood it’s very responsible, thank you for following up

    Love the review!
    Oddly though, the break out , sport glide, fat bob ,deluxe and fat boy are seriously over priced by 5k in my opinion. It just doesn’t make sense to me. The Fat Boy doesn’t come with anything and its 20k? What?

      Yes, I agree ... the Sport Glide & Softail Slim seem better value. I found that the seat on the Slim isn't comfy, and I'm not sold on the cast alloy wheel design on the Sport Glide.

    The Fat Boy is a nice bike. If I was to trade up on my 2014 Fat Bob, it would be a 2018 Breakout. The only thing is the price on the Breakout. Nice demo vlog my friend!

      faith biker The Breakout looks great but was very rough on my body. I'm hoping the suspension was just turned up real far. I really wanted to like that bike.

    I'm liking the Fat Boy a lot!! What about the solid wheels in the wind? Notice that at all?

    I do not miss the "chip seal" roads of Illinois. :-P Or, the snow, ice and tornadoes. Still, it was nice to see some open spaces. (I grew up just north of Rockford) You mentioned wanting to change the pipes... starting in 2018 MY, they moved the cats to the pipes to cut down on heat, so for those of us living in emissions states, we can't really touch them, unless the new ones are catted, too, or we escape to a county without testing.

    Lmao.... You had the same childish reaction that I had to rolling on that 114!

      @harleydave2316  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skunk72 I really likes that engine but was surprised it didn't have the same torque as the 114 Fat Bob. My local Harley said it is because of different gearing between the models.

    Why are these American reviews always spent rolling down straight roads with a few gentle bends. I want to know how it handles thru real twisties. 😕

    Beautiful country. Where is it you're located? Lovely farm country. I watched the video because I'm giving thought to owning the new Fat Boy. Seems like a fine bike. I need to give a closer look to both the Heritage and the Deluxe.

      Teachering This was in Illinois. I rode the Heritage also and loved it. Unfortunately my gopro didn't capture that video....

    How many miles can you get on a full tank?

    • @fastjax

      usually around 210-230 depending on how you ride?

  • @HDR20
    @HDR20 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is funny the fat boy wasnt as torquey as the fatbob you rode since they share the same engine. I rode the 114 heritage and the 114 fatboy and the the fatboy felt quicker and it had more torque.

    • @harleydave2316
      @harleydave2316  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't understand it either so I asked my local Harley shop about it. They said that even though the engine is the same, Harley has different gear setups in the various models.

      The weight difference of the fatboy may have also had something to do with it.

    i cant concentrate with that audible nose whistle...its louder than the bike

    • @harleydave2316

      Doug Brian Hmmm I don't notice any drastic wind noise from my speakers or headphones. Maybe try a different device to test with? It's nearly impossible to get rid of all noise since I am outside with no windshield to help.
