I’d forgotten for a second that it’d been said that Spyro would happen, but I still lit up when I saw the notification pop up in my feed. The idea of having him be the antithesis of your Crash design is wonderfully creative and just the glide mechanic alone would make him thrilling to simply move around with. Overall, just, another amazing moveset concept that I WISH I could play.
I know I say this a lot but I really mean it this time since we're talking about Spyro here: among the other Spyro movesets I've seen this might be the most creative one and the most fun to play if he were added and had this moveset. I love how you didn't just use as many references as possible and instead kept the moves original. The specials were also a highlight for me, considering that the specials in other movesets I've seen were really lame, but the ice breath special you gave him made me wish he was in Smash now. Good job.
This is a great moveset. It's nice and simple while having just enough depth to spice things up. I like how he uses both fire and ice in his specials. Also props for the final smash being interesting and not cinematic, I greatly appreciate the extra chaos it can cause on the battlefield.
Compared to other people, I grew up with Spyro a whole lot more than Crash, mainly because I like dragons. :P You did Spyro a massive favor with this moveset, and it's crying shame that he isn't considered a lot in speculation.
A high ease of use character thank God, I could actually main this imaginary character. Ngl Poochy would be a pretty good candidate for high ease of use
Once again, excellent work. Even though Spyro won't make it to Smash for reasons already mentioned, you make this character work and make sense if he did make it. Looking forward to the next one.
I really like how you interpreted flame. I always assumed that it would be Neutral-B but with it on F-Tilt he can do it while walking which is really smart. Even if I've always preferred Crash, this proved to me how fun Spyro would be.
Spyro makes much more sense than Doom Slayer. He not only had Donkey Kong and Bowser cameoing in Skylanders Superchargers (I think that Skylanders 'award' jingle should be the Victory theme. Just as a little nod!) Heroes' Tail has Nintendo references with the Mario robots, and Professor referencing Blue tokens and Red Coins. Not to mention his handheld library was fully Nintendo exclusive. Never once on the Sony Portable! I would had used allot of Shadow Legacy move-set for his Smash Bros variant with one of his Special finishers from Legend of Spyro being the Final Smash, but you did Great. I love those Alternate moves you Gave Spyro! I'd like to see that be Cannonized!
Once again I don't really have much to say, not played the Spyro games and I don't plan to at the moment, but still, he looks fun and that's really all I need.
You forgot to mention the most important thing! Sparx flies around him and changes color as you take more damage. At first I was surprised you had his basic fire blast as F tilt but once I saw your idea for the specials it makes a lot of sense. I'll say I think his forward are also needs to be his basic fire blast because you have to be able to do that move in the air. I like the idea of down special changing his neutral special between fire ice and plasma better. Plasma bomb is high damage low knockback low range Super Ice is low damage but freezes the opponent with a possibility of leading the follow ups. Med range SuperFire is medium damage with high knock back and high rangd I really like the idea of using his smash attacks for the Faerie fire. That's smart. First side B he should be able to hold it and charge it to mimic The Supercharge as well. I'm not sure that he can supercharged in the air so maybe using side beat in the air could unlock something like the continuous fly. But I dont know how you give that drawbacks. Probably that it only lasts for a little bit of time and sends you into free fall. Also you can't do any attack out of it only fire blast so you're a bit more locked in to just Mobility Overall really good
Kudos to the Spyro moveset. Next moveset idea in the near future: Knuckles the Echidna; Lilac (from Freedom Planet); Saber (from the Fate series); and Ratchet and Clank.
I love the Spyro and Crash series, however having grown up playing the Spyro trilogy as it was more of my cup of tea as a child, I have more of an affinity towards it, but being realistic, as while Spyro was a successful series, Crash was more so, to the point of having a fanbase in Japan, which was very rare for western games back then compared to now, where Spyro fumbled the ball hard over there. I personally can't see a world where Spyro gets into Smash before Crash does, however if Crash ever gets into Smash, I do believe it would absolutely raise Spyro's chances of being included even if at a later point, as long as Crash stays within that series. Crash and Spyro are so tied together as series at this point, due to their roots, and even to this day, that its a no brainer that if Crash got in, Spyro would follow at some point.
I like Skylanders, but it did not come up with Dark Spyro. It did the most with Dark Spyro, and made the color scheme, but Dark Spyro itself comes from the Legends series.
Can we get a Touhou character next? I’m thinking of the Nuclear Birdbrain Okuu from Touhou 11 and have a rough idea for her main gimmick… High Risk Higher reward… basically all of her smash and Special attacks needs to be fully charged (the charging up part indicated by the Warning SFX that plays when she uses a Spell card in the game she’s from) for it to be at its strongest… and what happens if you don’t GET out of the way when the attack goes off? Either a lot of damage or a guaranteed shield break if you try to block it(as well you were given an early warning of the incoming attack) also her attacks should be based around Touhou 12.3 as it is a fighting game so it’s a good jump off point
Don’t know if you do requests but PLEASE do Kratos from God of War. He’s the perfect PlayStation rep. I’m thinking the older Ragnarok version with his heavy throwable axe
i have some general rough concepts on how to adapt Flame, Ember, and Cynder in unique ways! i originally was going to make whole movesets for them for Skylanders, but maybe you could consider these? FLAME: basically i was going to give him a Fighter Kirby-inspired moveset since Skylanders didn't have anything like that in the game series, it would also incorporate fiery dashes and zig-zag dashes from the fire moveset from Legend of Spyro: the Eternal Night. though Smas Bros. already has Fighter Kirby and Ryu, so it would probably be redundant in Smash. EMBER: i had this idea to reinvent her as a Magic Crafter that tossed magic carms in the form of gemstones with bits of gold filigree. she would focus on various colorful tricks and utility spells along with a few elemental ones too. maybe one of the buttons would allow Ember to cycle through a few different loadouts of charms and a couple different fighting moves per stance, effectively making her a Stance-type fighter!! CYNDER: if your take on Spyro focuses mostly on the charging and different flame moves from the classic series, then this idea for Cynder takes the four-element system from her moveset in Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, while giving it a darkness-themed twist influenced by her moveset in the Skylanders series. Cynder would be more focused on spellcasting than melee, being able to switch between imitations of Legend-Spyro's fire, electricity, ice, and earth spells replicated through shadow magic with new effects. i.e. dark crystals (ice) slowing enemy movement after they break out, or extremely damaging dark lightning spreading over a wide area with slightly reduced damage going through walls and platforms. so what do you think of these ideas?
Palafin Hero Form from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to get a moveset video. The only catch is that only its hero form is in the game (or its Zero Form only appear in a Clapping Animation)
Good kit, however, I would personally replace his ice breath down special with him performing a horns first ground pound attack, this is based off his Earth Pound attack from Skylanders, which I feel should get referenced somewhere in his kit.
I think it would be better as a down air, since the Earth Pound isn’t even that notable in Skylanders, while the element breaths are a thing across all Spyro series. It’s even mentioned in some Skylanders flavor text.
Hands down the best Spyro moveset I’ve seen! Great job! 👍

OMG THIS IS PEAK - I really like the new icons on each section! They add a really cool aesthetic

Damn already!?!?! 😳
I was about to go to bed til this happens. Nice video to cover for Spyro. 👍
