Oh, I love the way magnaflow turns the sound into a modern muscle car, I’ve got flowmasters on mine right now, but they need replacing since I discovered they have holes in them.
I have long tubes with high flow catted x pipe with dual flowmaster 40s on my 1985 5.0 thunderbird. They sound awesome and the sound in side the car when your on it is amazing! Flowmaster all the way!

After owning 31 different Stangs of various vintage and having swapped exhaust setups almost as often as socks for normal folks, I figured out something for my personal tastes : I always preferred the sound of an H pipe with a pushrod engine and the X with my earlier Mod motor stuff. Changed opinion again with my recent S-550 and enjoyed the H on there with the Steeda catback setup. They all sound pretty good to my ears, it’s just that last little bit of finesse though lol Anyway, thanks for sharing. Your Foxes are nice !!!
My vote for the red car. both are fantastic but if there has to be a winner its the red. dont like the popping on the silver car on deceleration. beautiful sweet sounding fox bodies.
Sounds good. I would assume that both cars make similar power and have similar mods? Is there a volume difference between the two? How about inside the car? I have Flowmaster 44 on my and might try to get something quieter as I leave early in the morning and don't want to be that neighbor.

Just did a full swap on my exhaust a few weeks back on my 87. Stainless longtubes with matching offroad h pipe and flowmaster's american thunder series. Dying to here what that sounds like in the coming weeks. Have been thinking once I get in the 400hp range I may make the switch to magnaflow and switching the h-pipe for an x. How's the drone on the competition series?
Correct- Super 44's. The rest of the exhaust is stock including the headers and CATS. I have some straight pipes to install in the future with some aftermarket headers. Should sound very nice after that.
It's an unfair competition. One has cats & the other doesn't. Take the cats off the Flowmaster system & let it breath & you'll hear the real sound. Flowmaster sounds way better than any Magnaflow!!!
Thanks for your feedback. I just completed filming for an updated video today. I put off-road h-pipes on the flowmasters to even out the competition. It sounds awesome now. Video will be uploaded on Monday November 27th.

Both sound good but I always prefer the original 40s series on the pushrods motors.
I perfer straight pipes, but most people definitely like Flowmaster 40s in those Mustangs.

I agree. I'm planning on leaving the Magnaflows on the 92 and switching my h-pipe to an x-pipe on my 89 Saleen.

My notch is running a b-cam and bbk shorty headers, no cats. The Saleen is bone stock.
Running a chambered muffler will kill some power but if it's the sound you are after you'll probably never notice the 10-25whp loss.
IMO there's no better sound on these cars than Flowmasters.

Very little to no drone at all. It sounds good when you go under overpasses on the interstate and rev it up.
What magnaflow are they?

Black widow venum 250's is rhe new flowmaster. Less drone as well. Still has drone just not as bad

I actually have them in my building. They have welded down pipes on them which would need to be cut off. I didn't like the drone from the downpipes.
What I think is that no one needs two foxes so you should sell me one.😁
