    I dyed my hair yesterday with Good Dye Young's "Ex-Girl" and it was a bright fuschia color that looked terrible on me. I washed it twice with hot water but it didn't fade in the slightest. I was panicking and did a quick Google search and found this video. It's 3 in the morning and I just used this solution and my hair was blonde again in less than 15 minutes. I didn't have purple shampoo so I used dandruff shampoo and it worked amazingly. I highly recommend trying this because it works wonders on pink hair!

    I had a brighter pink than hers and it literally took everything off! It did feel a bit damaged but I did a repair mask and added oils and leave in conditioner after and it feels great, my hair has been through a lot these past couple months and my hair didn’t break at all which is always great! I also suggest using the ion booster to help with the repair afterwards.

    Hi everyone! I came across this video a little while ago. I had dyed my hair a permanent blue black by Garnier. I had faded it out with dandruff shampoo to where it wasn't so black but it wasn't the result I wanted. i read in the comments this would NOT work on permanent hair dye. It worked for me. I followed her recipe, even had the same problem with only not having enough developer. I have really short hair so I only left it on for 35 minutes. I have enough mix left I'm gonna try it again probably tomorrow. The only problem I ran into was my hair was a bit rough when the mix was rinsed out, but I put on some deep conditioner and left it in the whole time in the shower. It did not lift me to blonde nor was I expecting it to. I just wanted most if not all of the black gone. I used 1/2 cup of baking soda, 4 ounces of 10% developer, 3 tbsp of Dawn dish soap, and 3 tbsp. of Equate purple/silver shampoo. Put it on all over and topped it off with a plastic bag and a winter hat on top.

    This recipe worked PERFECTLY on my faded pink hair! I actually went ahead and applied it to my super grown out (dirty blonde) roots as well, and I ended up with all my platinum sections totally clear from color again and it lifted my natural hair 1/2 a level!
    ...
    I used 10 vol developer as well as fairly harsh shampoo with a little bit of Arctic fox Purple Rain hair dye in the mix to cancel out some of the yellow tones from the pink. I only had it on for 5-7(ish) minutes after applying it and it was totally perfect! I also mixed a drop or two of the purple hair dye into some conditioner in the shower and left it on for a couple minutes to cancel out the last bit of a yellow tint!

However I tried it a second time recently and my hair is super dry/damaged now. :( Be careful not to do this too often! Also if your hair turns green, you have to neutralise it with something red. I tried this earlier on my BLACK hair and when i tell you it freaking WORKED! My hair is at about shoulder length and the recipe she listed gave me about double what I needed, but I was happy to have extra instead of not enough. All that being said, it did leave my hair a weird kind of uneven ginger color. Not sure what happened there because my hair was light brown before dyeing it black, but I’m just happy to have the dye out. It did also leave some strange leftover pink and greenish undertones from all of the dyes I’ve had in my hair. I did a deep conditioning mask and now I’m going to do it a second time to see what happens. If it’s still ginger I’ll try some purple shampoo and see how that works. Either way, this was an absolute win!!

    I am doing it Rn. Come back later for my results
    Update 2 days later: I did it, it helped a lot (taking Demi-permanent red dye out of my hair) but not as good as hers. My hair turned pink. I used a 20% instead of a 10 just because that was what I had at home already. My hair got pretty dry (a lot) but probably because I put a lot of 20% developer on it for 45 min. I am not trying to go blond, but to get a “ginger” red now. It might works, let’s see when I put the new dye over it.

    Ok so: I did this on super faded BLUE-GREEN dye, (1/2 bicarb, 1/2 20 vol. Developer, 3 pumps anti-dandruff shampoo, 3 pumps dish soap leaving on for 10 minutes) it works to an extent, since this works best for warm tones if you have blue with a red undertone (more purple) it should work well but if you do it with blue with more green it will probably leave you with a pale green depending on how faded your hair is- I would do a bleach wash or another technique to get this out. IF YOUR HAIR IS VERY DAMAGED OR BLEACHED, it will definitely damage your hair only slightly less than bleaching so don't leave it in too long (10 mins Max)! I recommend leaving your hair alone for a week and soaking in coconut oil or using a hair mask everyday or every other day. Thanks for the vid, just wanted to add this for ppl with a similar color to me!
    TL;DR: it works on green-blue hair to an extent but will damage your hair, I'm left with blonde with a green tinge that I'll b getting out using different methods!

    I tried this; used a natural dish soap and 20vol (all I had) and a little less purple shampoo (but then used purple shampoo alone afterwards to tone it) and it pulled out almost all of my dye!
    It took maybe 20 min? I didn't time it, just watched and made sure my hair didn't start melting or something
    The pink came out super easily, I still have some tints of blue since it's harder to remove, but unless you look closely, my hair appears 100% blonde once more

  • @NyteFryte
    @NyteFryte 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I also had pretty damaged hair and I only had a little fallout so I think it really depends on your hair type. I don't think everyone's hair is the same and that's why it works for some and others it doesn't plus the factors what you've done to it with whatever dye and on top of that how many times previous you have bleached.

    this worked like a charm! i dyed my hair pink just yesterday and it turned into a patchy mess. my roots were bright hot pink, the middle was light pink and blonde, and my ends were hot pink as well. i put this mixture on my hair for about 15 minutes and it took out all the pink :) thanks so much!!

  • @katiem2346
    @katiem2346 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    just want to say thank you so much for this video it really helped! i had hot pink hair, i used the magenta dream dye by colour freedom, on hair that i had bleached 3 times (before this i had deep black live dye on it which i had for two years). my hair was already in a pretty bad state before the pink ie hair falling out. i did two at home olaplex treatments before the third bleach but my hair was still very damaged.
    i had dyed my hair with the colour freedom magenta dream twice so i don’t know if the lack of build up helped, but it completely stripped my hair. i have two little link bits in the back where i missed so i would say make sure you’re careful when doing this to get every bit. it has stripped the pink completely out of my hair and took it right back to the blonde it was, if not lighter. it did lighten my roots too to a honey blonde but as i’m naturally blonde anyway it doesn’t look too bad.
    however i also have shaved sides of my hair at either side in like a mullet kind of style which i had bleached once and dyed blue, this didn’t work on that! so beware if you have blues or greens in your hair it probably won’t remove. i didn’t really want to take the blue out as i can always shave it i just wanted to see if it would actually lighten it to let people know! btw i used 30 vol developer, bicarbonate soda, hair and scalp dandruff shampoo, elbow grease dish soap and elvive purple shampoo, wrapped it in cling film and left it on for around 25 minutes.
    no damage at all! i just guessed the measurements as i have lots of experience with messing around with my hair, but the mix was liquidy to where it would drip down my neck but also thick enough that it stayed on the brush when i picked it up. it’s also better to use your hands when doing this, use gloves!!!
    Sorry it’s long. hope this helps at least one person!!!

While it didn’t get everything the first time around that may have been user error but it did get the majority of my dye out and brought my blonde back. I just did this on my hair that had been bleached to a medium/light blonde that had about 3 inches of regrowth (my natural hair colour is a light brown). I had dyed my hair Arctic Fox Ritual/Purple AF, and I had decided after 3 washes I didn't like it any longer lol. I mixed 1 cup 20 vol developer and 1 cup of Baking Soda with 3 TBSP Purple Shampoo (Aussie Beat the Brass) and 3 TBSP dish soap (I used Palmolive original dish soap, the green colour one). I applied this ALL OVER my hair and left for 45 minutes with a plastic grocery bag wrapped around my hair piled on top of my head. When I took it off, my roots were blonde...lol...but honestly a pretty golden light blonde. I rinsed the mixture out, decided my ends still had way too much pink/red, and so I shampooed my hair until the water was running a pale pinkish (idk how many times, maybe 15? LMAO) I put on a very hydrating conditioner and finished my shower and rinsed the conditioner out. I blow dried my hair and my hair is now a very pretty golden blonde with pastel pink ends (I have a lot of choppy layers in my very long hair, so it looks cute)...think of the popular rose gold trend, exactly like that. :)

      Sorry that happened to you ,and that this comment may be arriving to late to help you. 1st 40 volume is not our friend (don't ask me how I know this lol). 30 vol really isn't a very good friend either. If you're still having issues, or have issues like this in the future, this might help. When your hair starts snapping off try to do a good protein treatment on it. Try using ApHogee 2 step protein treatment (it literally saved my damaged and breaking hair)-LOL Don't freak out when step 1 gets hard on your head, that's normal, but do follow the directions exactly because it is a very strong protein treatment, and don't use it any more than every 4 to 6 weeks because you can go into protein overload which can also cause breakage. (Your hair will tell you when it's time to repeat the protein treatment -it will become stringy, mushy feeling when wet, and begin breaking off again).
      After doing the ApHogee treatment Moisturize the crap out of it. When I use a Strong protein like this, I use Aussie 3 min miracle then follow that with Matrix Biolage Hydrosource conditioner and often put a moisturizing mask in for 30 mins or so afterwards.(I only do the mask on the 1st day)-Any Moisturizing conditioners or masks will work though. You may need to moisturize for a couple 3 days in a row because the ApHogee is very drying but after just one treatment your hair should feel so much stronger, and you should see a lot less breakage almost immediately. After the 1st say day or 2 after heavy moisturizing then start alternating between other moisture and milder protein enriched masks, and shampoos/conditioners only use about once a week. Also during the snapping phase be sure to keep it trimmed, as needed, because that damage will go up the hair shaft and cause more breakage. Good Luck hun.

    I was terrified to try this because the ingredients sounded so harsh. I had bleach hair and Arctic Fox Violet Dream over it. This took it all out except for some weird blue/green undertones in the blonde. Not sure how that happened but I’m happy it’s blonde. Thanks!

    I just did this in the last hour on my dark pink but faded hair. Haven't been able to budge it for months. 40 minutes and my balayage returned! I did pretty random measurements apart from 50:50 developer to baking soda. Miracle worker seriously

      It may have taken less time than that but I didn't check 😅

    ZALA IS AHHHMAZZZINGG! The web sight was so easy to use and the colour chart was most helpful , they even do colour matches with your hair which is brilliant if you are unsure of what colour will match your natural hair. They came super quick and are great quality match my hair perfectly with a bit of toning as my hair is toned ! The money is worth it for the quality they are 100% Recommend the pony tail !

    Thank you thank you thank you! I did this after a month of trying to fade my flamingo pink hair and it’s blonder than it was before I even dyed it pink! Plus it faded a dye that was supposed to last 35 washes! Amazing 😍

    BE CAREFUL!! This method works but you need to watch your hair. I left it on way too long and it broke off. So just pay attention and take care of your hair

    Dyed my hair red and I like it but I’m terrified that it’s going to stay ginger after so I wanted to know if it could be washed out at all, thank god

    I just tried this and my hair was practically the same color as shown in the video and left it on for about 30 minutes before it started burning and the color didn’t budge much. I even used 30 developer! Guess I’m gonna have to use bleach after all

    This is amazing!! Thank you for sharing! I dyed my hair very dark (demi permanent) and I hate it. I am excited to try it.
