It did work!!! It really works ya'll...
So I got a professional permanent #3 dark dark brown color, almost black color on my hair, I wanted to go brunette but then I regretted a week later, so I came to this video and TRIED THIS MIXTURE and I left it for an hour and AMAZINGLY my hair went from dark brown to light brown, with only one try. I'm definitely going to keep doing this until my blonde hair comes back or until I can apply a new color.
Thanks for your video!! It worked on me!!

  • @amberwang6437

It’s a lot faster and more even if you section your hair first, even if it’s just into four quadrants. You don’t wanna end up with too much spotting. So easy to do with lightening such dark hair.

It really works!!! My hair is super thin and it didn’t break at all, it did get a little dry but using a good quality mask is going to take it to it’s normal. I have to say that prior to trying this my hair was healthy and I haven’t bleached it for over 6 months. I left the mixture on my hair for 2 hours, it washed the black off of it and now the shade is like a light brown color, it’s brassy but it was expected and I’m going to dye the color I want it to be so it’s ok. I wish I could post the before and after pictures here.

  • @hey956

Ok, I tried this on my hair twice. I had bleach blonde hair and then went darker months ago. Anyway I've been trying different methods with no results for ages until,
1st time I tried this method: It didn't do much, I don't know if I didn't use enough baking soda or what, but it didn't do much.
2nd time I tweaked this method: I used more baking soda, and I used 20 VOL (Blondeme brand) instead of 10 vol, I wrapped my head in glad wrap and I also only left it on for about 45 minutes (I was impatient lol)
AND IT WORKED SO WELL, my dark brown hair is now like a very very very light brown, looks like a lighter shade of dark blonde in the sun, best example would be Cara Delevingne's natural hair colour I guess.
I'M SO HAPPY WITH IT, THANKYOU FOR POSTING THIS VID!

After reviewing your video I couldn’t wait to try this. Thank you so much! I hate bleach. My hair was black. I used a dye to lighten it but my hair didn’t get light enough, it went from black to dark brown.
To get my hair light brown I sprayed my hair with lemon juice. I mixed the baking soda with 20vol and made it like a paste. I also added the purple shampoo. Covered my hair with a conditioning cap and my hair turn medium light brown within 30 mins. I got the color that I wanted thanks to your video. 😃

When I did head and shoulders and vitamin c I used an effervescent vitamin c which gave a great texture to the compound. I then bent over my bathtub, brushed all of my hair down from the roots, and appliedit from the bowl sitting in the bottom of the bathtub. I don't understand why all these young ladies go through so much effort to apply it with the flat brush. I guess it's for the screenshots, but leaning over the bathtub was 100 times easier.

this worked because developer is made of hydrogen peroxide which opens the hair cuticle and lightly strips color. the purple shampoo is added because purple cancels out yellow but in this case with black box dye ur undertones are gonna be orange so youd want blue, but honestly without a toner first the shampoo doesnt really help or do much. then the baking soda and dish soap are kinda pointless. if anybodys wanting to do this u can just use normal developer, the higher the developer the more it'll lift, but also just know developer wont ever be as effective as bleach but its also a lot less damaging :)

I've done this method twice now and I'm truly amazed at the amount of hair dye that's rinsed out. Only difference is I used 30v developer because that's what I had on hand. This does work on dark box dyed hair, however, it will make your fall out some if you do it for 30 minutes and up. It makes your hair very dry, so sleeping with an olive oil mask on will help put the moisture back in your hair. It also makes the black turn into a lighter red-brown, which blue shampoo can help tone down. It does also come out splotchy if you don’t not saturate the entire head!!

I did this. Then when it was in my hair, I read the comments about it frying hair off so I only let it in my hair maybe 10-15 mins with my hair covered. Even only being on my hair a short amount of time, it did lighten it a little bit. My hair doesn’t feel damaged at all. I will probably do this again in a few days and let it on a little longer.

  • @fayeinwonderland
    @fayeinwonderland 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Ok, I tried this myself and it worked, although I think I’m gonna try a second time to strip more color off. I had virgin hair and dyed it black with a DEMI permanent dye. I hated it to say the least. I tried the most famous vitamin c and anti dandruff shampoo (I used head and shoulders, the green apple scented one ) and I just think it gave my hair reddish tones which I hate so much. Hair was still super dark and I even burned my upper eyelids. I tried this and left it for an hour, I distributed the mixture in small sections trying not to touch my roots, regardless they came out lighter but thankfully doesn’t bother me as I parted my hair how I usually have it before applying the mixture and so was able not to ruin that area. So be careful when you try this. It removed the black a little, maybe if I left it longer than an hour, which I think it’s already a lot, it would have lifted more color? I don’t know I was pretty scared. I still have the reddish tones but at least now it’s brown and not black. I’ll try again and hope to lighten it even more.

Update: I rinsed it off after 30 minutes. It worked about as well as a bleach bath (soap cap) but I normally do the bleach bath for 15-20 minutes. My hair is pretty dried out and my scalp is tender. I've only done 1 Feria box dye on virgin hair and one bleach bath before this, but my hair is not in good condition right now. I'll just stick to bleach baths in the future.

Okay this works really well but don’t use harsh developer I only had thirty so I did it with that and it’s damaged but I have really thick so it’ll be fine but don’t leave it in tooo long either check on it because I left it on for like two hours and I just had to cut some of my hair and do hair mask so it’s really effective like I had black box dye and it made me a dirty blonde but please check on it and don’t leave it in too long and use a 10v developer

When I was looking up how to remove some of my demi-permanent color because it came out a bit too dark, I read that baking soda is actually pretty damaging to the hair. I used vitamin C with shampoo and it worked perfectly with no damage. I wonder if I got bad info about baking soda, either way your hair came out nice!

A bleach bath is better if u want to lift the colour especially permanent colour , make ur bleach lightener the normal way and add equal volume of clarifying shampoo and mix well , damp hair apply the same a normal coating all hair between 3 and 30 mins depending on how far u want ur colour to lift, then u can correct ur colour.
The baking soda technique I found only works on semi permanent dyes I used this technique on my red semi permanent colour and my hair is now very very light pink , baking soda and dishing washing products WILL DRY OUT UR HAIR so make sure u have a good deep conditioning mask to repair ur hair 😊
