Thank you so much for this and all of your other vids. You've got a natural knack not just for explaining, and not just for showing, but for BOTH explaining AND showing! Seriously, you do an amazing job w/ these vids.
Hoodrio, dude...you are the man. I just discovered your channel and I am hooked! My wife bought me a Les Paul for my 30th birthday, its been in the case ever since. I just turned 40 and took it out of the case, determined to learn how to use it. I searched youtube for Keith Richards and Chuck Berry lessons and found you. I haven't stopped watching (and playing along) for a week! Thank you! I really appreciate these vids.
Thanks for taking the time to showcase your knowledgeof all these styles. Love your teaching style. Explaining the background for each of the chord shapes has really helped me see why things work. Cheers!
I got another TH-cam video announcement last night from another fellow who I often mistake for you. I eagerly went to the page only to realize that it wasn't you and was wishing that you were releasing a New Year's video. And now, lo and behold, here it is! Thanks for this. I am interested in learning these awesome Chuck Berry licks and everything that you elect to do videos on. Looking forward to all your videos of 2013 and planning to go through the ones I've never seen. Many thanks again!
Thanks so much for taking the time to post and share your guitar lessons. I'm learning so much from you and am becoming a better guitar player by each lesson. I'm not a gifted or natural guitar player, but I'm starting to rock and hear what good old rock and roll sounds and feels like. Peace, Daniel.
@@Hoodrio thanks sadly I’m still at beginner stage and not at the notes memorized but I will get there.. I still love the video love watching how easy it comes to you too with envy hopefully one day I can enjoy playing my favorite music rock n roll and rockabilly
You will get there, Robert! Check out some of the other videos in my essential tools playlist. I think you’ll find some helpful info there. th-cam.com/play/PLtsRXE7dzhsJSh12DvYHFQguHgMJ50M4l.html
It’s never too late! And I would also recommend checking out Justin Guitar if you haven’t yet. He has an excellent beginners course that would really help you with learning the Fretboard. His lessons are free here on TH-cam as well.
Eight years later, but many thanks on this great lesson.
Chuck still rocks!!
Fantastic Lesson... not just a song, but a great rockin concept 🎉

10 years later…thanks for a great lesson. I also wanted to know how those Chuck double stops worked.😊
Nice balance between staying simple without dumbing down; really gained a lot from this. Thanks.

Brilliant lesson, thank you.
Late to the party here but glad the video is still up. Breaking it down to its simplest elements was really helpful. Many thanks to you.
Well done, just keep it simple by giving just the information where we are looking for. Thks for sharing
One of the best guitar lessons on youtube. How this only has 2,000 views I will never know. Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, my goodness, I'm so glad I found your channel! You rock at explaining WHY these licks make sense. Thanks so much!
I'm right there with you. His playing is great. The 'why' not only helps me with the song, but how to think in terms of theory and musicality.
Thank you for another great lesson! Your teaching makes it very easy to understand and it incorporates the theory behind this changes.
Im so happy you showed this much needed lesson...very important..very important!!
Fantastic lesson! Very clear and detailed! Gonna be trying them licks out later! Thanks
Pat
Thanks Hoodrio. I really like the double stops ascending from the A on the 2nd and 3rd to the E. Tasty Town!

You must be a keith richards fan with the humbucking tele
THANKS FOR SHARING I don"t play guitar but like to see good guitar players.
you da man...
Sweet tele
I need one of these ! Mini-humbucker in neck position really adds to the tonal range.
wish you had tabs :[ very difficult for me to get where your fingers are.. such a shame i would love to get this ticked off my wish list
I always name the notes and/or the string and fret number. Also try making the video full screen on a monitor.
