He was so loose, lanky and tall. He was having fun with his music and he was a great stage performer. He had so many great moves on stage. But mostly the music just swings like mad. And you can’t help but get caught up in it. He was the Master Guitar Rocker! Invented all the guitar rock n roll riffs. There will never be another performer this great. And on top of all that he wrote all his hits.
@Dyn Jarren
All True/I've always felt the same way about Chuck as you do. Amen!
However, we gotta give his Piano Player Johnny Johnson some credit for some of those grooving runs, and the cumulative effect of blue grass/hillbilly; ragtime music, etc. as the backbone or some of the ingredients to his inimitable genre defining, foundational swinging sound.
This song had one of the greatest piano solos in Rock and Roll History. RIP Johnny Johnson.
It's been said that Johnny Johnson was the heart of Chuck's band. Saw him play at that club in Mill Valley about 20 years ago. Incredible talent.
piano player is disputed today, many consider older discographies wrong, and johnson himself recounts playing on sweet little sixteen, telling about leonard chess prompting him to do more piano swirls till his fingers were bleeding.
Chuck Berry absolutely is beyond words awesome!!! I saw him in Atlantic city when I was like 13. A whole bunch of Senior year HS kids and college kids there just LOVIN it! As a frustrated musician wanna be... I am in awe of this man. Chuck... You are beyond words cool! And thank you. You rock.
1950s was and always will be the true rock and roll sound, what it is meant to sound like. Prior to the term rock and roll it was known as the big beat. The Beatles sang some of these early songs because of the inspiration they got from them. They reintroduced early rock. The original "big Beat" will always be the basis of real rock and roll. I'm glad to have lived it from its beginning. Wish it were still here today to some extent, in its original form. Long live rock and roll as the song goes.
Dick Clark and Johnny Carson in the beginning! Amazing how Chuck Berry has outlived most of his peers.
+RebelThoughts82 Except Keith.....lol....Keith is gonna outlive all of us!
Sadly, Chuck joined his peers in heaven yesterday. Thank you for all the great music Chuck! R.I.P.
One of the best Rockn Roll SONGS ever ! Chuck was the gratest.

Chuck was a true American! He always mentioned our 50 beautiful states
I love how chuck can make u visualize! His lyrics just roll off the tongue!
Wow... I think this is the ONLY American Bandstand footage I've ever seen, where the audience is actually clapping IN TIME and ON THE BEAT!!!!
Chuck was rockin' 'em!
When someone says to me,
" Chuck Berry is the King of RocknRoll".... I don't argue.🎸
Church invented RNR
Chuck was definitely an ' ICON '.

Too be fair unlike most black artist in history Chuck Berry actually was abel to sue and won! And is still credited as the composer and lyricist to this day!
@@notchuckproductions5029 That's as it should be, of course.
The Chuck is great, love his rock'n'roll songs! Had the great pleasure to see him on stage!
Chuck Berry was one of the greatest of all time
God bless Rock’n’Roll, which wouldn’t be the same without Chuck Berry. Rest in peace my man, 1926-2017
Chuck Berry took the blues to another level and changed the music.....
At 82 this performance says it all!! I recall it well
Though 65 years ago, I had the pleasure of personally meeting Mr. Berry shaking hands as he passed by after one of his performances in San Antonio, TX, 1957, where I was stationed in the Air Force. I still remember the sweat dripping down his face yet he stopped walking to ask how I was doing and if he had performed well. I was spellbound. The man was beyond awesome. It was an incredible 10 seconds.
Dick Clark and American Bandstand were responsible for so many songs becoming huge hits!! And it was a great time to be a teenager...❤️
Chuck Berry has influenced the rock and roll music industry!!!
Everyone has been inspired by him since his debut and he also did things that people didn't believe you could do on a guitar
there´s some GREAT swing and rythm in this song ,
can´t sit still while listening to it.
The true and first real tock an roll... a man with charisma... aheaaaaad of his time,,,
What?😮
amazing, wanna live in this times in 50th , when he was alive, he was a living legend and he will always live in my mind and my heart, incredible and awesome music, voice and performance, we need such people as him
Go Chuck go! Just accept Brian Wilson was simply a big fan,and both songs will be played forever. Then it makes sense.RIP Chuck you made a generation happy.(and their kids did love it!)

Message from outer space: "send more chuck berry"
Dear Earthlings,
We love Johnny B. Goode! Can we hear Sweet Little Sixteen?
-Aliens
Houston, we have a problem: we need Maybeling right now!!
I can see ET duck walking and doing the splits in the depths of space.
Can't wait until 28 03 2027, to play this for my joint-favourite granddaughter.
My older sister had this 45 and she played it and I said at 8 years old in 1964-"He sounds like the Beatles" She said"No,the Beatles sound like him". R.I.P to the One and Only.
I love how chucks song made you visualise! took my loved one across the tracks so I could hear my man a wailing sax!
Wow ! I think I just watched this man give birth to Rock and Roll right before my very ears .
Thanx for the sonic waves Chuck .
Reading Keith Richard's "LIFE." GREAT STUFF ON THE INFLUENCE CHUCK B. had on Keith and all the Stone's. Made me remember the first time I heard Chuck's SWEET LITTLE" 16. Sitting in my father's parked car, in front of our small house in Detroit. (Eastsider!!!), listening to the radio when I was six or seven. Energy seemed to flow up from the floorboards in Dad's Ford Fairlain. C. Berry's Sweet Little 16 was on the radio. A "Solid Gold Weekend Hit, and I thought, 'If this is what they call Rock 'n Roll, then it's what I want for my whole life. Now I'm 71. It was, and it has been. No regrets ... at least as far as my life's sound track has been concerned.
This chuck berry great piece has not yet reached the Philippine shores but we heard it when it was played in the US Clark Air Base(every mid afternoon). From then on, we tuned to their radio broadcast about that same time. He sure is the best.
Chuck Berry with his songs and especially with Guitar playing made him as cool as Elvis. Everything that man played was copied/modified by younger generations. Just EXCELLENT!
Chuck was actually cooler than Elvis
@@smorgasbordtv4092 no one can be as cool as Elvis, that’s why Elvis sold over a billion records worldwide! Chuck is legendary, but why do ya have to hate on Elvis just to make him look better?
Man, we will miss you Chuck!! Rock and roll will never die!!!
I was in collegiate track and field...Berry always reminds me of the really talented athletes...the world class kinds who moved differently than us journeymen.
You are listening to the sound that would become rock and roll. This song set the style for all of future rock and roll.
Chuck should forever be remembered in the ROCK 'N ROLL HALL OF FAME !!
