So the expectations came from the people expecting something equaly unique. And still, the King of buzz remains the Endorphin Speed one.
I have novablast 3 and they are great. Confortable and dynamic, supporting a large range of paces. I cannot compare with speed 3 because I do not have speed 3.
yes you're correct. They got paid to say it.. by paid meaning got exclusive access from asics and got all expense paid trip by asics to their hq as well.. funny how kofuzi didn't follow it up after 100 miles of running. Didn't even mentioned that the outsole was downgraded from nova 2..

Thank you for this video review. I had almost decided to buy the Novablast 3 before it came out but I'm glad that I waited. I am more interested in the ASICS Cumulus 24 than the Novablast 3. I also hope that you do more Puma reviews in the future, particularly the Deviate Nitro 2. That is the one that I may get next. Recently I picked up the Mizuno Wave Runner 25 at 50% off and it's been working out great for me. I do appreciate the extra grip of the outsole on that shoe because I like to be able to run on wet surfaces or dirt or grass and not feel like I am about to slip.

I have to say that it’s one of my favorite shoes ever, way better than the ASICS Cumulus 23, On Running Cloud Monster, New Balance more V3, etc. The Wave Runner 25 really surprised me. I love the build quality and the quality materials too.
Well done and congratulations! I too had high expectations from Novablast 3, but they were the disappointment of the year. The first 20km run, they hurt my right leg, under the sole somewhere in the front. Disappointing. They are too soft and I don't know why my feet sit too high in the front under the sole. For those who run in heels, they may not have a problem. However, they are not the shoes of the year. Actually, Superblast, should have been the real Novablast 3. But Asics, didn't play it right. Sin.
I’ve had mine for 2 months to replace my Mach 4 (which I loved). It’s not as great as the hype, but I like it more than you - the midsole really shines on long runs. I wouldn’t use it for tempo runs or race day, but other than that it’s phenomenal. My only issue with it is the durability - I only have about 120 miles and the outsole feels like it’s on its last legs.

Yes, it is hyped especially some reviewers declaring the shoe of the year with many more months to go. I think the shoe looks super cool, new FF Blast+ is lighter (not sure if better in energy return) and stability is improved. However, I am disappointed that they downgraded outsole to AHAR from AHAR+. AHAR+ is super durable and my Novablast 1 still have ample rubber left after 350 miles and that is rare for me with the very rough asphalt in my neighborhood. I will probably pick Novablast 3 or maybe Novablast 3 TR sometime in the future on a discount as I already have more daily trainers than I need at the moment. I am also disappointed they hiked the price US$10. Small increase it might be but given less durable outsole the price increase does not sit well.
I bought the Adios Pro 2 last year because of all the hype around it, but in the end only use it for speed workout. As much as I want to love the shoe, it just doesn’t work for me. The first gen Vaporfly is still my go-to shoe for races even if most people have already moved on. Lesson learned: Always wait for Brendon’s review for the truth 😂

Luis I did a video on it also. It doesn’t have as big of a drop/lean as the first one but it has more bounce at higher speeds with the foam in the forefoot
For the amount of money they want for a pair of these, why wouldn't people just get the speed 3's? The speed 3's can be used for daily training all the way up to half races. $169 for a mid-paced daily trainer is way too much money. I'm curious as to how these compare to the Nike Invincible 2's that I use for my easy days.
I have been a fan of the Novoblast from the start. The present version is my favorite daily trainer of all time. I'm also running in the Mach 5, Skechers Ride 10, Saucony Ride 15, and the Adidas SL20.3. I would not propose to tell anyone they are wrong about a shoe. All I can say is my experience is different from yours. Other reviews concur with yours, good but not their shoe of the year.
Ray, how did you like the ride 10? I loved the ride 8 but ride 9 felt like just a shoe. I am really enjoying my Novablast 3 (made a video on it too). Not that anyone is wrong with their opinions

Yes, it's an amazing shoe. BUT after some days running on Xero Shoes, I was no longer convinced these were the best of all. But they were for few days.
I was using the previous Novablast, and it took 50 miles before it stopped giving me foot pain. I caught it on sale which is the only reason I grabbed it, and based on other's reviews. Definitely won't be pulling the trigger on these shoes even with the upgrade in the upper. Not sure if I can trust the reviews on it, for me. But if it works for other people, happy running!
After my Saucony endorphin I was expecting to be a great shoes but,I find it too big and chunky.Often I kick my calf during runs.Back to saucony works better for me.
This video title resonated with me because I only have 24 miles on NB 3s but do not love so far. I did love the 1 and 2 versions (the 2 took about 50 miles to get the midsole lively for me). I have narrow feet and the heel doesn't fit great but primarily, I am probably only one of a very few, do not like FF Blast +. I do though love FF Blast. I did not love FF Blast + in the Nimbus 24 and in the NB 3 it feels very unresponsive and dead to me (I'm being patient and hoping it will get better over time). I feel with FF Blast + a bottoming out in forefoot and in the NB 3 the right forefoot is poking me on some runs (just for context I road run and on steep hills).
I picked up the nova 2 for $45 a week before these came out. They feel like a dead slab of wood. Not impressed. Might try these on clearance next year. The speed 3's are pretty nice. Still a little ho hum compared to hype but so much better than nova 2. I did have to trim an inch of the pointless achilles rubbing rubber reinforcement in heel. that designer should be fired. heatgun ftw
This is an average daily trainer, at best. ASICS obviously got into a lot of influencers' wallets to pull out Shoe of the Year reviews halfway through 2022. 🙄
Ive had NB3 it feels more like a cushion shoe more than a daily trainer And its not stable at all for me. I prefer puma velocity nitro or even pegasus 38 But thats just me
It’s was mediocre at best. Comfortable though. But prefer running in pretty much everything else, people say it has mad bounce? Never felt it. Feels like a clunky mess to me. Just shows everyone is different.
I’m not sure why you think that. He’s honest and if he doesn’t like a shoe he says so. To say that’s “super toxic” is odd. As it happens he is a fan of the Novablast 3 - he hasn’t been “toxic” about that.

He is a Dick most of the time in his delivery and what he says about shoes/companies he doesn’t like. Any review of a brooks shoe should point that out immediately, or something like his Saucony Shift 2 review.

I’m a size 13 and use these. I find that using the runner’s knot makes the laces ALMOST too short to tie. FYI.

They’re light and comfy, but they’re not that versatile…rather unstable on faster pace..at least for me

The upper is too baggy and the material is too dense in humid climates, with bad breathability.

Nova 2 switched genres to a slow/easy day shoe. I was severely disappointed when I first got them, but they grew on me for recovery days
Maybe get your fitness to a level that the shoes are made for first.
Overhyped. Feels clunky underfoot. Maybe I'm just used to more shoes with more of a rocker. And it's awful in the wet. No traction at all
I have the NB3 and the speed 3. Both good trainers but nothing special. The NB3 does get better after 150 miles whereas the speed gets worse.
