- In our latest Japan travel vlog we spent the past 5 days exploring some the prettiest onsen towns in Japan. We took a dip in Zao onsen and Ginzan onsen in Yamagata prefecture as well as Tsuchiyu onsen in Fukushima.
Some of the scenes that we witnessed looked like they were straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie.
We even got permission to film inside of an onsen which definitely pushed Andrew outside of his comfort zone.
We ate some amazing food along the way and made some really good friends as we marvelled at the snow in Northern Japan.

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.

I am very happy that you liked Yamagata's hot spring♨️ and soba. Ginzan Onsen is said to be the model place for the Studio Ghibli anime "Spirited Away."
By the way, sightseeing in central Yamagata city is also fun, so please try it when you come to Japan next time.

We don't know when the snow monsters end. But zao was a really cool town with lots to do in 😊
