- Back in the Christmas rush, I spent a day out in Tokyo on a lie: I told Martina I was shopping for her Christmas present. That was already bought. Instead, I was out planning a romantic getaway for us for Valentine’s Day. We always wanted to experience Northern Japan’s crazy snowfall, and I found out about Zao Onsen in Yamagata, which was supposed to be snowy. I just, err, didn’t know it was going to be this much snow.
So I booked a petsitter for Meemers, secretly cancelled our meetings, called the hotel and checked to see if they’re tattoo friendly, booked a room and our Shinkansen tickets. I booked a taxi to pick us up from home, and had one piece of luggage secretly packed with all of the clothes, toiletries, and medicine we’ll need. And then...the rest is in the video. I hope you like it, and I hope it inspires you to try to do something a little special for your partner, even if you’ve been together for a very long time.

@@eatyourkimchi aw I found this comment again and I'm sad now :'( He left me just over a year ago. I wanted to stay together and try to renew our spark but he just kept pulling away. I still love him so much, but he doesn't feel the same. I keep trying to move on but I really thought he was going to be my one and only.
Ah how time has changed this statement unfortunately. But the love they showed at this point was quite inspirational.
Not only do you two demonstrate the definition of unconditional love, but you also show how to enjoy life to its fullest. You enjoy life from the smallest (e.g., hot drinks in hand on a cold day) to the biggest (e.g., trips around the country/world)!!
I read that as "enjoy life to the smallest" and I like it.
Martina i know you dont like the negativity but i care so deeply about you guys and everytime I know youre in pain I get so mad at the universe for giving you this chronic illness and also because there is nothing I can do. It literally brings me to tears
Don’t think about it too much. Martina’s pain is our only real worry in our lives, and people usually have a lot. We have a really strong marriage and partnership, and a pretty sweet job where we can do something that makes people happy. Very few people can say that. We’re very blessed, very lucky. It’s just the chronic pain that gets in the way of an otherwise great life :)

How you two interact while you eat is adorable. Makes me miss my girlfriend a lot. She will take a piece of my food and says, "Now you can't finish your meal because I had some of it." And so I'll take a little bit of her's and say the same thing. And then we just laugh and enjoy spending time with one another.

I hope to find a love as great as the two of you have. The wonderful thing is that even with everyone praising your love, I feel as if you two don’t have pressure to perform a certain way in regards of love. It just comes naturally to you two. My gosh you two are too cute! You know you can buy attachable soft spikes for your shoes, so the ice/packed snow isn’t so scary? Also means you don’t have to shell out for boots purely for snow.

Yay!! Yamagata is amazing, although I’m biased because I currently live there. If you guys guys come back for a visit, you must try Yonezawa beef. It’s considered one of the best, just as good as Kobe beef.

For the snow, I can tell you that Canada is receiving a LOT of it lately. In Québec, we just had like... 3 storm back to bakc. Over 1 meter of snow within a week! It's crazy !!!

Loving Martinas moose knuckle jacket. I just wish they weren't so expensive where I am.
I've heard they're very good so it's probably worth it :/ If you want a decent jacket, you need to pay at least $100 cdn (I'm in Toronto). Super good ones are waay more expensive. My jacket is considered a good one and was on sale so my dad bought it for me and I think it's usually $500 :/
I have a mooseknuckle and it's totally worth the price. It's extremely warm and durable, i'll prolly be wearing it for the next five years (at least). Its a big investment but if you live somewhere really cold its worth it :)
@@LovePinku6 Yeah my jacket is a north face and I was so thankful bc there was a polar vortex where it was below -20 degrees celsius everyday. Seriously couldn't believe how warm it kept me (or at least not cold haha)
