Thanks carnal👊🏻I wished you would have showed the actual cleaning how you did it and the saudering though, but I’m glad you showed me how to remove all the screws in step by step, this was so helpful for me, my blue speaker was a little tiny bit different set up, but I think by your excellent video I can fix my little baby, gracias por todo mijito ❤️🍓
NOT ALWAYS MICRO SOLDER FIX NEEDED: Just fixed my daughter's non-charging Charge 3 after switching out the battery which WAS NOT THE ISSUE. Not sure this is the more likely problem with the USB port but in ours, the 5-point contact piece within the USB metal housing was broken rather than the full metal housing piece(6:20 point of video above) which is soldered to the board. I was able to grab that mostly intact L-shaped piece which is plastic and then first tested it while carefully holding in in place and connecting a charger cable>>>>lights on speaker came on and started blinking!!! So, next got some quality plastic glue - E6000 craft adhesive - I had around and using a paperclip and needle was able to lightly and cleanly coat the remaining plastic broken post and also the inside of the metal USB housing that attached to the board. This glue is hard to work with in a small space but you have a few minutes before it sets up to apply to both pieces then fit into place. Let set 24 hours and tried to gently connect>>>WORKING GREAT. Probably need to be gentle with using port but I think I got enough glue in place to make it stronger than original. Wanted to post because I bet this broken plastic is probably the part that needs repair for many and the fix DOES NOT REQUIRE any micro-soldering tools or expertise,,,,well, maybe similar expertise, but with the E600 glue which can be tough. Good luck all.
A big thank you, for the moment I do not have to open it to repair it, but if it had to be the case, now I know the interior, the screws, etc., thanks to you!
Thank you so much for this. I dropped the speaker and after turning it back on the bass had such a terrible scratchiness to the sound. I opened it up and found a small black screw wedged into the right speaker. Not sure where that screw is supposed to go but the speaker is back to being great. Thanks again.
Mine is completely different inside. There are two revisions of this speaker, one known as TL, (I have that one,) and the other known as GG. (You have that one.) For the TL model, you remove the grill by sticking a flat head screwdriver straight down in the gap near the center of the area between the two sides that is located on the left and the right of the speaker. (The first area where he starts prying.) You may have to move the screwdriver around to find the hole. Keep the screwdriver there, then the grill should just pull off. There are no screws on it.
Hey Jose, great video thanks for this! My problem is that the usb surface mount is broken and I need to replace it. Do you know the specific product part number? If so it would be incredibly helpful!!!
Great Job Well done👍Bravo👏Keep Up the talent... Can U Fix a Black Web Speaker, Billboard Speaker... do U have the Parts Replacement for all this Charging Port...this is a lot of Work though... Great tutorial. Thanks. My issue started with battery dieing out so fast, when I opened to examine d ba3. Observed it is swollen hence I ordered a replacement putting into consideration the exact match. Now, battery has been changed with a new one, speaker is working but battery cannot charge when plugged. I equally open the charging area as per video, no damage- port is intact. What could be the solution please?
Yo I just subscribed awesome tutorial!! But I have a question do you know what the second pin does??? Out of the 5 what would happen if I theoretically lifted the 2nd pin :/ it charges now but I just have no idea what that pin does
Really nice video, mi port is broken, do you know where can I but that connector? its a really good speaker and I'd like to repair mine :( thanks in advance!
I have this spesaker called a Juice Boom 360 & it has a charge light but won't power on after a lenbgthy charge. I've tried every button combo but still nothin. Any ideas?
I have two jbl charge 3 with the port issue that you just fix. The usb charging port pins are really mashed up, may need to be replaced. can I send them to you to fix for me? Let me know thank you
How does this affect the water seal? Currently JBL C3 won't charge unless I push the micro USB female end up a little. Even if it does charge, the battery doesnt last too long and then the red battery light comes on and the music gets a static sound.
im sorry i have exactly the same one and it did not open the same as you showed , i used a similar tool but it just would not open !!!!!! why was yours so easy ???????? its the same one charge 3 because i thought it should open the way you showed ive broken the plastic ..... ! ((( yours came apart so easy , mine is not ! same charge 3 same side first its stuck solid and the plastic broke . quite upset , and dont know why it is so difficult when yours came so easy , has your been opened before ?????
Hi. Does the jbl charge 3 have short circuit protection ? My charging cable was damaged and touched eached other for 1 second while it was charging. I quickly removed the cable and restarted the speaker with no problem and still sounded same but am worried if the board got damaged. Please help! Thank you very much.
Hey dude, followed your step to step, realised I couldn't salvage the micro usb port (pins were bent) Where do you suppose I can purchase a decent (and correct) replacement from?
Hi, with my charge 3 I just replaced the battery which I thought the battery may be broken. However, after the replacement it only charge for like 3 sec and the light went off. Do you think it’s because of the charging port?
After I fold back the mesh, my Charge 3 doesn't have those two screws. Is there a video that shows how to do this with a different version of the Charge 3?
Martin Deák I’ve taken my JBL charge 3 kayaking and had it strapped into the kayak. I flipped said kayak multiple times that day and the speaker came unstrapped twice and it worked flawlessly for 2 more years. Now the battery only lasts about half of what it used to. But that’s just from normal use, not the water. So I’d say mine was definitely waterproof.
Any JBL Charge 3 troubleshoot seem the left speaker is 20% output but the right speaker seems to be at 100% performance any ideas ? Anyone please feedback greatly appreciated. Looked all over everywhere but no reaponse nack as usually. Any tips or recommendations ?? Please thank you. I love my Charge my Charge 3 will to get another but with this sudden. Significant inmpp
Screwed up this repair. Pretty sure it's well and truly toast now. The five USB pins were part of the board itself. Try to remove the charging port, and it's like pulling cables out of the board. No solder point in there to soften -- not merely pins from the part resting on the pins on the board. The pins on the part and the pins in the board were the same continuous metal material, like cables. Also screws were in different spots. Guess I'll save it to spite-burn in a fire later.
OMG! well, last thing to do is try to bring those lines from wherever they come from to the pins on the charging port, im talking about make bridges using jumper wire size 0.02mm, i have done it many times, i wish you good fortune in the repair to come
@@JoseMoralestechWell... charge light 1/5 is blinking rn. Does turn on, does pair, does play. Doesn't seem like it should, since the only reason I even attempted that was to make fun of the idea that it would work -- talking to myself, "Ohhh, you just need a little dollop here, and a little dollop there, can't see crap 'cause of the instant smoke of course, but not quiiite like that nooo, that's a little toooo much, you want it a little more straightened out heeere," as if I could accomplish any degree of precision, absolutely sure I was making a worse mess of it. Didn't want to plug it in, but did, and now blinking, so... did something. Gonna let it charge overnight. Hopefully it won't catch on fire. Has to be the worst soldering job in history. Solder blobs everywhere. A joke. If it proves to work long-term at all, it's going to be entirely held together by bare and undeserved luck.
@@JoseMoralestechIf it stays blinking at one, might that imply that the pins are in a damaged state such that the system cannot tell how charged the battery actually is, and thus might try to keep pumping it full of energy when it's already at max, leading to possibly combustion? How does the charging system work? Is it just power in and ground? Or do those data cables do something more than nothing, as is the case on many electronics?
@@JoseMoralestechbut you know, it stopped working when I was bending on it a little bit. So then I had to take the soldering iron over to where the speaker was still plugged in and then play soccer ball soccer across the pins until the startup noise began, and the red light started blinking, indicating charging. No idea what I connected, just that I played soccer ball soccer enough across the pins in order for it to work.
I wonder if you have seen this speaker distorting and have an idea of how to repair something like that. I think that the only way of fixing this problem is to replace the amplifier board. I wonder if you know where to find it and how much it would cost. Let me know. Thank you.
Jacko Leader mine broke the same exact way, I think over time the little 4 sauder Connection’s becine loose and break, the same thing happened to my Beats By Dre pill but I threw it in the trash because I didn’t know that I could repair it. They really should design these o last longer without this problem because many people have had the same issue.

You can get it from eBay

Nancy King it was a gift 😁
where can we buy charging port?
Don't need charging port..just hardwire directly from battery to USB charger power & ground..soldering is 4 suckas😂
Hi, with my charge 3 I just replaced the battery which I thought the battery may be broken. However, after the replacement it only charge for like 3 sec and the light went off. Do you think it’s because of the charging port?

JBL fixed ✅ Now, how can I fix my Black and Decker mini vacuum?
Lol nice one
Help me please when is increase my speaker sound it starts to crackling
but in low volume it sounds good
what is the problem??
After I fold back the mesh, my Charge 3 doesn't have those two screws. Is there a video that shows how to do this with a different version of the Charge 3?
Are you sure is the charge 3 ?
Tengo una jbl charge 3 pero no se soldar sabes como conectarla directo los cables que ban a la bateria
Is the speaker still waterproof when you put it all back together??
There is a big difference bitween splash and waterproof. No JBL speaker is waterproof. Its splash proof. And yes it stays splashproof.
