My goodness it was like watching surgery! I don’t know if I can do all this, I probably don’t even have the tools 🤦🏼♀️ God help me. Thanks for the video though it was great. Intense but great.
I'd your device is broken and you have nothing to lose. Go ahead and order a torx screw driver kit from amazon for 8 bucks. I fixed two broken laptops in this covid break. Nothing to lose and everything to gain
thanks homie! took me the better part of the day but i managed to pull this off somehow. i'm an inexperienced solderer and i don't have a fine tip soldering iron put after a ton of fiddling it works! no longer have to get my usb cable plugged in at the perfect angle for it to charge. thanks for the tutorial < 3
We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning th-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
If you removed the speaker on the opposite side of those boards and that end cap, you would find there is about 2 extra inches of wire more folded and tucked inside there to give you more room to unplug and reconnect the connectors.
Never buy an electronics device with micro USB charging port. It never should have been allowed to be invented. People unknowingly force a USB-C charging cable and break the connector. This video is great to explain the repair. I have mine disassembled and will now attempt the soldering repair. Not sure I am capable to do this.
For beginners i highly recomend to remove the subwoofer top aswell , this gives you more working space with reconnecting the cabels. The supwoofer part is just a cap so don´t worry.
Which is the subwoofer cap? I'm having a hard time getting in to the area with the pins - I even accidentally burned the top of the plastic connector with the soldering iron (I'm a beginner):).

Thank your for the incredible detail on how to fix the Flip 4. Yours was in-depth and I watched it all the way. My problem isn’t that (I think).. it charges, but after about 2 hours at full charge, it does and has the red need charge light. When I turn it back on, it may show half charge but, doesn’t stay on.... I had watched another video and tried pushing the “ribbon” but that was fine... thoughts? Appreciate if you respond. Thanks a ton.. btw subscribed as I like to tinker and had “repaired” a flip 3, couple years back....
I need help. I was replacing the battery on my flip 4, the battery wouldn't come out from the top easily so I decided to do it from the bottom. Got a wooden stick with a flat tip to push it out. Before I took the battery it, I connected the new battery to the speakers to make sure it would work and it did. After I pushed the old battery out I placed the new one in and it didn't turn on. I was thinking it was probably a bad connection on the charging port but that wasn't the case when I took it out and reconnected it. Do you have an idea?
He used a soldering iron. The clear fluid wasn't glue, it was soldering flux. It just helps in the soldering process, but you still need to solder everything with a soldering iron and soldering wire.

Can you make a video showing us how to disconnect or somehow disable the microphone on JBL flip 4? I hate having microphones on all my devices all over the house. No privacy anymore. Thanks!
It might help for some cases, but didn't help in my case. Flip 4 turn on fine, all functionality is fine other than charging the device. Turned out it is the main board that is burned. So glade I didn't buy any battery or USB replacement kit. I would have been throwing money at a problem that needed a complete rebuild.
I have a wonderboom 2 speaker, it won't turn on or charge, do you have any idea what it could be? I fixed wonderboom 1 with the same problem, but the boards are different, so I can't find the problem ..
I too have jbl flip 4.. with old battery.. can i make it run without battery. Its always in the same place in my room.. can we make with run on Ac supply ?
I can't solder 😔 but at least I know that it's repairable. I can pay someone to do it here. I live in the Indian Ocean and shipping tools and a battery here may be expensive.
So my flip 4 turns on but it wont stay on for long, the battery lights go to red immediately and it dies. I can't keep it plugged in to power even then the speaker turns off by itself. Is this a battyer problem or charging port problem ?
Hi, mine stops playing after 15 to 20 mins, but it does not turn off, if I try to play music is mute, if I turn it off and back on, only a pop sound, after 30 to 1 hr it works fine again for 20 mins then again, any idea of what the problem is
I just noticed why is the rubber panel that covers the power button and light indicators different? It's different in design from majority of jbl flip 4s
He did not replace it this time but you can find them on eBay as micro USB socket. However, you will need to match the "landing pattern" for pins and mounting holes to replace.
Mine just won`t work at all in sudden and i no idea what`s going on. I was listening to the music and suddenly there`s a loud sound like a horn appear in 5-10 sec like that and it boom!! No sound at all hahaha. It just happen today. I try to turn it on back and i try to charging it but it don`t work at all. Dame what`s really happen here. I don`t have a tools like what you got. It seems like my jbl flip 4 is going to the garbage bin lol.
You may be able to observe the battery status lights while moving the cable connect. If the light ever comes and go or never on, likely is the bad connection. Bad battery likely give you a red light as low battery or low charge all the time (or short play time from full charge depends on condition of the battery).
Terry Wey jk erm my jbl flip 4 charges say for about 2 minutes but if you move it ever so slightly it’s stops and I’ve been trying hours to charge it but when I plug it in now it just flashes red
@@beanbag3769 I will guess is the bad connection since it come and go. Either the contacts or a broken solder joint. Change to a new cable may help to confirm. The red light may signal low charge due to unable to charge. It will take a while to get enough charge for red light to change to white.
Hi, I gained courage to fix my FLIP 4, got it to turn one but it wont charge so I ordered the welding kit, but about this Flux thing, do I really need it, because I dont want to do it without it in case it is really necessary, if someone could help me out with this it would be great. Thanks in advance.

I love the energy of success 🤣 I would never do this since I've had mines for 3 years now
Love this! This gives me hope. i saw used replacement boards on ebay for 30 bucks. But if I can re-solder it and get it to work I will!
Can I send to you my speaker? You are so careful and experienced....thank you.
Wow it helped a lot. I actually didn't have a prolbem with the micro usb just one of the connections unplugged on it's own so it was easier.

Hi! The problem you describe seems to be in the battery which is coming towards the end of its life and will need to be replaced.
HI, how did you manage to solder that? The connections are less than a mm wide!! And so close from one another... ! :-o
great video, but after seeing how much work it takes to replace, ill just buy a new one

What was the name of the soldering tool you used and also the name of the clear glue ? Thank you.

Can you make a video about how to start a cell phone repair shop like what license and permits do I need to do it
Genial !!! Cambie la batería, solo me falta esto. Gracias por la información!!
Hi, could you tell us what kind of wax you use to solder? Tx!
Hey what kind of flux did u use to tie it on? I'm tryna fix my flip 4 & I have the same problem...
He used soldering flux. But it doesn't tie anything, it just helps in the soldering process. He still needed to solder it with soldering wire and a soldering iron.
What is the smaller white plug you unplugged from the circuit board?

Hello Jose, Can you tell what size are the two connectors on the charging port board?
What new charging socket did you use? Can I have a link to the page, please?
I had just bought a flip 4 for my wifes birthday before seeing this. Is this a common problem with Flip 4's?

Hi using the multimeter , if has power consumption is the battery if is not connecting it all is the port
