In Europe, this is the right size car for their small medieval streets so the higher price that can still be justified If the quality is there since the size of the car is not an issue. But in the US it is a tiny car, real sub compact. There is a market for that which was excited to have a small attractive capable car to drive around town and at 35,000 that seemed a reasonable price for a well-to-do person to afford. But as you said once you get into the $45-$50,000 range is competing in the wrong weight class compared to other cars that price that are much larger and more comfortable
My daily driver is an XC40 recharge twin & I can say the wickedly fast acceleration is simply too much for me. If my next ones is a Volvo I’ll opt for the single motor. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching
Of the cars on the dealer lots, I haven't seen any with Chinese VINs. So I'm not sure if they really shipped any from China to here? What is the source for 1:28? I don't see that in the press release.
just checked out the canadian configurator, and u can actually get this thing with a metal roof. perhaps not impressive at a 57k CAD starting MSRP, but my base V60 T8 had a pano sunroof standard, which I'd actually rather do without, so...
Volvo nailed with EX30, it looks good, it drives good, and the 4wd performance is just crazy quick. Also they are bringing Cross Country version here in in Europe 😍🌍

I guess with the sells numbers in Europe people are ok with not having a gauge cluster behind the steering wheel. Given how popular the Model Y and 3 are, maybe that should not be too surprising. But even in recent videos I watched of the car the presenter made note of that as if it may be a downside for the plurality of perspective buyers.
I'd be a little worried that, every time I made a bad lane change, I'd be ID'd for 2 weeks as "the guy in the yellow Volvo who cut me off!" I suppose that, being aimed at performance car enthusiasts it might do well here in California. Very surprising that it's selling so well in Europe in competition with those BYD's & other Chinese cars. I still have almost 2 years on my Polestar 2 lease so there's plenty of time for Volvo to smooth out some of those famous EX 30 quirks before I decide if I want to change.
You're confusing the 18" wheels with the 19" ones and Pilot Assist (available on Plus and Ultra) with Park Pilot Assist (available on Ultra only because it requires 360 cameras). A bit more preparation before hand would help. Also complaining the lack of leather from the brand that prides itself in sustainability and it's carbon footprint is like complaining about Tesla's not having a V8.

No, you are only getting the highest end model. Once you get the base model with the single motor, the price will be lower. Just wait and see.

I like cloth seats. Cushy on my tushy and warm in winter also. My Ioniq6 has cloth seats.
That 250 mile range isn't going to help it.

Sounds like this may be available in the US before the Kia EV3. I think the EV3 could give the EX30 some competition.

Yeah, too late for me. I had a reservation last year, but turned it in and bought a model at the end of May just as well over a year and a half late

High price, no $7500 tax credit, poor range, tiny cargo area. Hard to compete with Model Y which have much better autonomous driving.
