You didn't mention that when you turn oem lock on it's going to reset the phone automatically and when it resets it's blocking you from oem unlock I couldn't do nothing can you help and will I lose Samsung pay and what else of yes I don't know why do I need to root I bought it for that
My phone didn't reset when I rooted it first time but second time it did and I had to wait 7 additional days. It seems if you signed into Samsung account it resets.

I have sucessfully done it with my G965F/DS with the modified Magisk. But this past hour, the phone has been stuck or frozen twice now and had to force restart. Update: phone freezes when it gets to always on mode Update: it freezes everytime when the screen display is off even though always on mode is off Update: reverted back to stock rom, phone is useless. Keeps on freezing when the display is off. Going to wait for another 7 days again -_-
I've also been having problems with some sort of Sleep of Death type issue, despite having successfully used this rooting method on the original shipped rom with no issues. Also, somewhere along the way my IMEI numbers got zeroed out and I can no longer connect to my carrier for calls, texts and data. I'm going to try the "SOD killer" app to see if this helps stop my phone from going into sleep and hopefully freezing every few minutes. It's REALLY bad!!!
I've tried with both, on both the latest and previous stock roms. The SOD killer app (in foreground mode; haven't tried background yet) seems to have fixed the freezes; however, I'll have to disable it and see if the freezes come back. If others are having the same problem with the most recent rom updates, it could indicate an incompatibility with some code somewhere in the flashed root files. If this continues, I might need to go back to the original factory foreign rom as a last resort.

For those who get error 1 download twrp-3.3.1-1 as img, copy it to the phone and then install, install img, select twrp img, as recovery, then power off but make sure it doesnt power into system(cuz of 7d thing), and after rebooting you can install it

Hey bud. Not sure if you still read these comments but I need a bit of help. Firstly, not sure if it matters but the twrp recovery file for S9 I downloaded is not .md5. I change the extension and it doesn't verify the checksum correctly, so I just leave it as .tar like it comes from your website. Anyway.. I boot into twrp recovery and go to wipe the data. It says "Failed to mount '/cpefs' (Read-only file system). My OEM Unlock was definitely ON as this happened to me a week ago and when I rebooted the option disappeared. Any ideas on what's happening?
UPDATE: I actually carried on with your guide regardless of the error and got it to work. Titanium Backup and all :). Still wanna know what you think of the error though??

Thank you so much for another incredible tutorial. It took me a few tries and I had to wait 7 days in between each time. But that was only because I was so impatient and tried to root like I would for any previous phone. Once I slowed down and followed directions, it worked properly in one try. Edit: Nevermind, I'm sorry. For whatever reason, after installing magisk successfully and rebooting, I got the same awful boot error. I have no idea how to fix it. I'll try again next week...

Is there anything particularly different with your Samsung USB Driver file that I can't go on a mirror site and download it? I ask because when opening the .exe file on my windows , my administrator access automatically prohibits me from opening the file even if I run it as administrator. There is an updated guide on switching to Magisk easily also I've updated te written tutorial, simply use Magisk zip instead of SuperSU, rest of steps are identical.

problems come when u enable the oem..it's gonna start formating automatically and shutting down everything and restart again and back to former state..which you dont mention..now i have to wait another 7 days..its sucks yes..which u should mention it edited : it didn't go back to former state..oem is unlock but the RMM Status is Pre-Normal ( status which block any illegal binaries to be install in the device ) which should be fix..gotta wait for 7 days i think..to change the status

So I follow all the steps and get up to Samsung Anti removal tool, but my phone restarts, shows the opening page and then doesnt do anthing else, the screen goes black. I have rooted my phone before and had no issues (except for the sleep issue which i fixed), but then I kept getting an error (only official binaries are allowed to be flash) after installing a module on Magisk. So I gave up rooting my S9, until now. But now I'm getting the black screen issue. I can get back into TWRP recovery and I followed the same steps exactly, but obviously it didnt work and here I am. Could someone please help me out with a guide on what I should do. Thanks! Edit: I also followed the newest tutorial using the RMM bypass file thing.
*333 peacher* yeah & after factory reset on your s9 or s9+ the OEM Unlock will dissapear & you will have to wait 7 days again & after that when is on the 7 days, you can now enable the OEM Unlock on the developer options without factory reset

Are you still having trouble with getting full LTE speeds on TMobile? My exynos s9 is ridiculously slow and drops reception all around town. I also have a US Galaxy S9 and it gets great reception everywhere and blazing fast. I don't know if there is something I can do to fix it
I used you guide but when wiping data i got some lines in red but it continued to wipe it and i got root access with Magisk 16.3 modified by jasec but when the phone goes to sleep it will freeze and i have to reboot using "volume down+power". I did enabled OEM unlock and the phone wiped everything. I have now restored it to factory default again and now i can see the OEM unlock is enabled. Did it happen for you too? Should it work to root the pgone if OEM unlock is enabled?

Main reason for me would be the fact that they've nerfed the Exynos 9810 to near Snapdragon *835* speeds.. A custom kernel/rom lets you get back the old performance.
I tried to install trwp, I get it. everything ok I root and everything. but when the phone goes into sleep mode with the screen off for several minutes, then I can not turn it on. It also has that behavior and if you turned off the term completely and the load counter comes out in percentages, when the load percentage disappears and turns on the red led of loading. then I can not turn it on with the power button. I have to turn it on with the key combination in download mode. What am I doing wrong? or is it not compatible? my model is the SM-G965F / DS
yeah man, but the phone is always "Awake" and that has a high cost of battery. it does not enter "sleep" mode when it is no longer used and the screen apsgsda, I am not interested. I prefer to wait until they get a compatible version of TRWP where they fix that "failure" of the Kernel. a greeting!

ok, so you don't have to wait 7 days, you just change the date on your phone to 8 days ahead and try again

I do step by step and my phone is still after 10min frozen on "Samsung Galaxy S9+" WHAT SHOULD I DOOO?? PLEASE HELP ME!! =(
My only issue is, s9 is not flashing No verity encypt file, its show Failed error.
I tried 4 to latest version 6.1. But not working, android is 10 latest updated till date.

There is an updated guide on switching to Magisk easily also I've updated te written tutorial, simply use Magisk zip instead of SuperSU, rest of steps are identical.
I did exactly what you said but in the end something went wrong if my phone stays in charge everything is okay but few minutes after I unplug the the phone I get block on a black screen!!!!! they call it "the screen of death" or something like that!!! I sew all the tutorial but nothing worked!!! please advise!

odin keeps saying fail even tho i have done everything right. i have a galaxy s9+ model sm-g9650. when odin fails it says FAIL! (Auth) and idk if this helps but on the phone it says only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed

problems come when u enable the oem..it's gonna start formating automatically and shutting down everything and restart again and back to former state..which you dont mention..now i have to wait another 7 days..its sucks yes..which u should mention it
edited : it didn't go back to former state..oem is unlock but the RMM Status is Pre-Normal ( status which block any illegal binaries to be install in the device ) which should be fix..gotta wait for 7 days i think..to change the status

So I follow all the steps and get up to Samsung Anti removal tool, but my phone restarts, shows the opening page and then doesnt do anthing else, the screen goes black. I have rooted my phone before and had no issues (except for the sleep issue which i fixed), but then I kept getting an error (only official binaries are allowed to be flash) after installing a module on Magisk. So I gave up rooting my S9, until now. But now I'm getting the black screen issue. I can get back into TWRP recovery and I followed the same steps exactly, but obviously it didnt work and here I am. Could someone please help me out with a guide on what I should do. Thanks!
Edit: I also followed the newest tutorial using the RMM bypass file thing.

*333 peacher* yeah & after factory reset on your s9 or s9+ the OEM Unlock will dissapear & you will have to wait 7 days again & after that when is on the 7 days, you can now enable the OEM Unlock on the developer options without factory reset

Hey...i have my sd card filled already..if i take it out..and put a new sd chip in and transfer the files from my phone memory to the chip..will i be able to transfer the data from the sd card back to my phone and then put my old sd card back in ? Andddd as i type this out i think i can.

Are you still having trouble with getting full LTE speeds on TMobile? My exynos s9 is ridiculously slow and drops reception all around town. I also have a US Galaxy S9 and it gets great reception everywhere and blazing fast. I don't know if there is something I can do to fix it
No it is working well now after software update, must been a bug. Make sure u do the latest update.
I used you guide but when wiping data i got some lines in red but it continued to wipe it and i got root access with Magisk 16.3 modified by jasec but when the phone goes to sleep it will freeze and i have to reboot using "volume down+power". I did enabled OEM unlock and the phone wiped everything. I have now restored it to factory default again and now i can see the OEM unlock is enabled. Did it happen for you too? Should it work to root the pgone if OEM unlock is enabled?

I tried to install trwp, I get it. everything ok I root and everything. but when the phone goes into sleep mode with the screen off for several minutes, then I can not turn it on.
It also has that behavior and if you turned off the term completely and the load counter comes out in percentages, when the load percentage disappears and turns on the red led of loading. then I can not turn it on with the power button. I have to turn it on with the key combination in download mode. What am I doing wrong? or is it not compatible? my model is the SM-G965F / DS

yeah man, but the phone is always "Awake" and that has a high cost of battery. it does not enter "sleep" mode when it is no longer used and the screen apsgsda, I am not interested.
I prefer to wait until they get a compatible version of TRWP where they fix that "failure" of the Kernel. a greeting!
