Kisumu needs the SGR. That will encourage more people to visit just as it is with Mombasa. It will be a big boost for Kisumu's economy. Overall, western Kenya cities and towns are better planned as compared to central Kenya cities and towns which are quite chaotic.

I knew he was serious when we managed to get rid of that huge waste dump next to Mega City Mall and turn it into a garden. Cleanliness and orderliness must be the order of the day for all of our cities but requires intentional leadership with standards.

The last time I was in Kisumu was in early 2015. Kisumu is extremely hot and heat levels can become unbearable especially for newcommers. The main changes I can see from this video in comparison to back then is the roads are recarpetted and streets are cleaner. However, the city looks more deserted and the buildings are still the same old ones. Kisumu needs to do something to attract investors. Kisumu leadership should learn from places like Eastleigh and Kilimani in Nairobi that are now unrecognizeable from what they were five years ago because of massive investment and booming business.
This was a Sunday so things were quiet. Kisumu is far from a deserted town… you are welcome to visit so you have a more accurate assessment of what is happening on the ground!

So much industrial companies were running in Western Kenya back in the days. Companies helped in planning the towns like webuye and Pan Paper ltd
