Thanks a lot for sharing your longtime experience with us Randy.
Theses advance bass fishing segment s are gold i listen to them before i start teaching my classes. Much respect from Japan
Well worth the watch. Thanks for the info.
Thank you Randy. Good stuff!
I have no problem fishing with only a JERK BAIt all year long because it’s not about how much more advanced you are with knowledge it’s about what you can do on the water based on what you know from the bank or boat.
Translucent, Metallic, OPAQUE, and Matte. Opacity is referring to not being able to be seen through. The opposite of translucent. 99% of megabass lures have a gloss or semi gloss finish, a select few are matte finish but matte is not a type of paint job on the lures themselves. Also this is not a gripe, this is simply me trying to clear up the vernacular here in case anyone is confused. When he’s saying matte he means colors that are not transparent. Megasbass color “ozark shad” can be used as an example
I caught it, too. I finally realized Randy means opaque when he says matte.
These videos are why I follow you! I learned a ton from you through the years!
Thx Nick!
Thank you Randy, AWESOME tutorial....
Great info, Randy! Look forward to watching every episode!
😊 Randy, thank you for your valuable insight, and knowledge on Jerkbait fishing. I love fishing my Jerkbaits 😊
I strayed farrr away from jerk baits two years ago when I first started my angler journey. Expensive and snagged a bunch. Fast forward today, I love them. I learned how to reduce snags & how to not yank on the bait right away. Can’t wait for spring!
Awesome thanks I'm sure I'll catch more fish.
Thanks Randy 🎣
Outstanding video Randy! You're a great teacher, thanks so much!
Thx Peter
This is solid information Randy and believe this will be a hit for you. Thank you.
This is what I've been waiting on. Enjoying the first lesson and look forward to many more. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It's not taken for granted!!
Great video and I am glad that I subscribed! Looking forward to the next one!!
This was great. I look forward to more
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed this seminar. Didn't think I would last the entire 50+ minutes, but the time flew by. Picked up a number of pearls. Thanks!!
Great information. Thanks Randy!
Awesome!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you Randy, great stuff and I am looking forward to implementing all this.
20mph wind and raining....I'm headed to the barn! lol
Yes, I love the low tech, high info videos ! Randy, you covered all the different variables. Thank you !
Thx man
I like Megabass, I wish they offered more silent baits.
I really appreciate the knowledge definitely got to get a couple small megabass jerkbaits for the winter
Thanks for the first master class Randy very good! looking forward to the future seminars..
Very welcome
Thanks 👍
Thanks
So excited for this. Every time I watch you talk about Jerkbaits, I learn something new that helps me catch fish. Jerkbait fishing is by far my favoirte way to fish.
Hey Randy you are definitely the jerkbait professor I didn't think I would ever be interested in jerkbait fishing thanks for pushing me into this type of fishing because I've really become interested in learning this technique I hope this gives you some teacher satisfaction. Great great seminar bud .
Thx man!
It’s kind of funny, I’m originally from the west coast. We started using the original Rapala # 9, 11 or 13. Most would use spinning Rod. I’ve moved to Tennessee and the mid west to the East coast use a bait caster to jerk with. I fished professionally for 30 years out there till skin cancer got me.I had to retire from fishing all the time. I still go fishing, but just not as much. What your doing in my opinion GREAT! Keep it going Randy!!!!
Thanks randy.
Great in depth information. Thanks.
I'm a bank angler and don't really fish a jerk bait due to snags. That being said, I'm excited to sit down for the first master class here. Looking forward to the lessons to come!
Try shallow jerkbaits in late afternoons around highway crossings and places where baitfish and shad rise to the surface at dusk. Usually late march through early june in the Ky/Tn region.
You don't have to fish suspending jerkbaits on bottom where snags are. Better off a little less deep over their heads
@@ZZ430T56 snags are everywhere dude. I'm not standing on a pier, I'm usually one foot in a bush lol
@@jasonemeric9902u can snag any type of lures pretty much l9l
@@jasonemeric9902lure* maybe besides a frog
Thank you Randy this info is priceless
Great video Randy, im gonna have to watch again and take some key notes. Looking forward to future videos on this channel! Thx again 👍
That was some Great Information to learn. Thank You Randy.
Great information. Thanks.
Awesome video/seminar information overload. I love it exactly the videos I'm interested in. . I knew I was missing a couple key components to my jerkbait technique. Can't wait to implement and improve on the water. Thanks Randy!
Thank you sir! I learned a few things today
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos!! I'm your age and these videos are like a refresher course to me ! And a chance to go back to memory lane. ( i started with rebel jerk baits back in the day)
It's awaome that you are putting these videos out there Randy. It is a lot of your time and effort to create these. I can also say, I agree with your thoughts on FFS.
Great info for sure
Got dang thats good content. Thanks Randy!!
love the new channel and am glad you picked my favorite bait for the first episode. I have always been reluctant to spool up with such light line for a jerk bait but you"ve got me intrigued as to its attributes. Thanks
Hi Randy, I am excited about your new channel. I watch all three of them now. Excellent videos, very informative !
Would be cool if you alternated weeks in the classroom and on the water. The on the water weeks can be putting into practice whatever was discussed in the classroom. Love the new channel.
Thank you Matt for all you do thank you for showing us your secrets and years of experience as always God bless
😆thats priceless!! Yep,thanks Matt! Randy who......
Great video! Your seminar videos are my favorite. I took 3 pages of notes. Thanks, Randy!
Thanks for watching man
Awesome Master Bass Class!
Randy has class for sure. This is what I've been looking and waiting for, someone with the experience that I can actually learn from... This is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the 'Kindergarten' YT Bass channels out there.
Thanks Randy!
Great lesson. My goal is to fish the kayak bass tournaments next year. Being taught by a pro who will be as informative as you are is what I need. Alot of details in this lesson so I will be watching this many times as I practice using the jerk baits. Your awesome and again Thank you very much.
Yes!!!!!!
I love that you include the fine details in your decision making... No one else will give ranges of water clarities or temperatures that are productive. Before Uncle Randy's advice, the best you could hope for is "throw spinnerbaits in cold and dirty water."
What's "cold"? What's "dirty"? Uncle Randy will tell ya!
👍
Also, you should get a patreon. I’d support you
muchas gracias,muy agradecido.
👍
I really like the way You break down all the factors and I really like the way You talk about fishing my impression is You never stop thinking about it. Bass is not my field but I watch every video of Yours from intuitive angling and I am looking forward to Your new channel which I already subscribed to. Thank You very much and All the best from Poland
I’m so glad I subscribed, njoyed it!
Thx man!
Class is IN SESSION!
Good stuff Randy. I'm no pro bass guy but I learned something from this video and I subbed to help you out. It's interesting that you say to use red hooks for smallies. A lot of saltwater folks are putting red trebles on the front of hard plastic lures too.
Dude hole smokes. This is awesome. Your seminars are my favorite vids.
Thx!
Thanks for the lesson Randy! Looks like I need to go buy more spinning rods! Lol.
Thank you Mr.Blaukat. Looks like I’m getting some jerkbaits rigged up today and going fishing.
Great video, I’ll have to try the mega bass 110
Just got my 1st Largemouth on an ozark trail shad jerkbait today and had another on for a second I missed. It was exciting. They hammered it! Now I need some advanced techniques! lol😂
Man Randy, you’re speaking my language with the spoonbills and rogues. Yep yep lead wire wrapped of course! Got s couple of boxes full of these. Funny, I don’t have any Megabass 110 models. Maybe I’ll get some!
wow. so much i never thought about with jerkbaits. i do love me a jerkbait bite. thank you so much for sharing this randy. i gotta get me a new spinning rod for winter after deer season. lol
When you are getting bit sideways in there mouth your spot on in my opinion, fav color is table rock gold , and a pro blue, got to have a clown when spring rain come and ruin the jerk bait bite , seems to happen every year lol nice vids
Thanks Randy
I'm by no means rich and because of Randy I'm addicted to megabass. There crank baits r top of the line also. I lost a few jerk baits when I first started using them but they have honestly made me a better jerkbait fisherman. I honestly don't think about the price anymore they are worth the price just take care of them you'll be fine don't over think the fact that your casting a $20 bill. U don't dwell on the $40 in gas for your boat or car to go fishing you waste but the jerkbait will go on many trips with you.
😊
Cotton Cordell made good ones but still have to have more of thoses suspender's and Megabass is one of thoses. I take your advice Randy. Your more the expert than I am. I will get there one day.
Yesterday I decided to practice with the jerk bait because I have zero confidence in it. Went below the dam (the lake up above is far to grassy for anything with treble hooks) with a purple Berkley Stunna 112 and had myself 3 pike within an hour, one of them being my biggest of the year. Needless to say, my confidence shot up a bit and now I'm here lol. Guess I'll have to give the mega bass brand a try now.
Love this, the long lectures are my fav. So why did you switch from the Orochi to the Levante Whipsnake, is it an action thing?
This entire seminar i's own Body of Knowledge and Wisdom. Speechless. Good stuff Randy. PHD level of Jerkbaitology going on here. Sheesh. 👋
Thx man much appreciated!
Love the seminar. What about the x nanahan. Do you use it or just the x80
Fellow Missourian here....LOTO is home lake. New to bass fishing 2 years ago. Sounds like you don’t use braided line. What are the advantages or disadvantages of braid? Especially if water clarity is not a factor.
Thanks Randy! I live in the northeast and never really pick up a jerkbait. This was awesome information. Did anyone catch what gear ratio he is using on his spinning reels? Wondering if a 6:0:1 vs the standard 5 is ok or if it even matters. Historical I have thrown jerkbaits on a 6:8:1 baitcaster
What reel do you like to pair with the whip snake rod?
Have you tried a BFS baitcaster setup to see if a spinning outfit outcast it?
The big jerkbaits are good in mid to late fall around smallmouth too!
I seem to gave alot of luck fishing braid to fluoro leader. Does it hinder deprh that much?
Who would have thought your first advanced topic would have been jerkbait technique? (Probably just everyone) As always a great video.
Awsome video ! although question plz, is Megabass not available in Canada (Ontario) ? I've been lookin quite a bit.. thanks
Lots of Great information, all great things to keep in mind! Please point out the list of products , so I can purchase
I put a list in the description of this video if you would like to check it out
I've bought several 110's that sink tail first right out of the package, what is the cause of that?
Great video. But I do have a question about getting your jerk bait down to the proper depth. Can you crank it down with the reel or do you really need to jerk it 5 or 6 times to achieve the desired depth? Thanks
Randy, thank you. I'm going to try jerkbait + 6lb line today.
are you trying to tell me the bass don't watch your videos, boy they don't know what there missing.😁😁
Didnt talk about sound or i missed it. Do you never throw a rattling jerkbait?
Ive been a regular "student" on every video you've ever made and again great lesson thank you, much appreciated.
I've got a question and hopefully you can help me with this.
I've got a competition coming up on a big dam here in South Africa it is probably full spawn now with water visibility around 15ft with bass coming out regularly around 10lb
This dam hardly have any grass or timber in so it's got about 90% rock and hard bottom.
1. Does bass nest deeper in such clear water ?
2. Would a jerkbait be able to pull those big fish off their nests?
3. Would it be better to just rather target them with jigs or soft plastic?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Nice shirt do you practice jj?
That was fantastic. Best jerkbait video of all times. You did convert me over to the spinning rod and I am learning why it is so important. I use the line you recommend in 6# and love it. I take my spool off my reel put a small bolt and washer on and put it threw the spool on the other end I put a small washer on with a lock nut and snugg it down. The bolt is long enough so that a couple of inches is past the spool. Insert it in a variable speed drill and spool it on like you would a baitcaster reel. No line twist no nothing. Thank you.
Good video. I have had more success or luck with the 110+2. I did not here much about it. My guess is because I throw it on 10lb test and my 110 just isn’t getting deep enough.
You mention a megabass X 75 yet neither bait-wrx or tackcle wh offer it on their web sites ( unless I am blind ). Only the x70 or the x80. Is the x 75 either discontinued or updated to a new number?
Hey Randy, I have a question for you about line and terminal tackle as it relates to fish being able to see it. I always thought to keep line size and type along with hooks and other terminal tackle to some type of minimum visibility until that day when I began to fish A-rigs on a regular basis. I got quite good at using A-rigs to the point that it would be a rare day when I didn't catch two fish on one cast with regularity. With heavy wire arms attached to heavy terminal tackle, A-rigs seem to run contrary to the notion that stealth in line and terminal tackle visibility is important to fishing success. The A-rig is a monstrosity of heavy gauge stainless steel arms attached to heavy snap swivels attached to five swim jigs. If a monstrosity like that doesn't scare fish, how could using 30-pound braid with one lure attached possibly scare them?
The a rig is an anomaly. In general it’s a good idea to keep the hardware at a minimum on any Lure because I’ve seen firsthand how many more by to get with no hooks on a bait. The times that doesn’t make any difference but I think at times and very clear water. It makes a huge difference.
@@AdvancedBassFishing Ever since my Fishing Facts and In Fisherman days, I have always been a disciple of light line, small hardware, and stealthy approach, but since I started using an A-Rig in ultra clear water lakes like Spring Creek in Lake Seminole, I'm wondering if I had this all wrong - all along? Now I use 30 braid all the time and my productivity on big bass has actually gone way up. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I have 50 years of bass fishing experience now and live in South Florida. Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.
What kind of knot do you use on a jerkbait?
I agree they are the best but you can’t say your in trouble fishing against it KVD did for years and pretty sure he won a lot with his vs you with megabass so it’s unfair to say they will beat all just say they are really good also
I've had better luck using a black back silver sided spoonbill rebel than any other lure besides live bait. I've also drilled holes in the lures and melted lead then had to file the plastic bill to get the lure to run right. I still have 2 that I never could get to run 100%.
Wish megabass would have a better colored clown colored jerkbait , hot pink head , with a chartreuse back instead of that red and dull gold , I love the clown but I don’t care for that red and dull gold back
