Agreed. It felt like the team behind AGT purposefully planned your downfall. They knew the judges hated otomatones, so why would they invite a literal group of players to get humiliated like that? Yall deserve the world. You are an amazing entertainer ❤
agreed too, i feel like a technical difficulty such as the ear mics not working shouldn't have been an oversight from the team behind it but a deliberate attempt to rig it
I almost wonder if AGT purposely has artists that the producers pre-script to be "bad", or if the audience has a screen with specific "boo/cheer" directions so the narrative can be shaped. The buzzing in your ear seems like the type of thing a major production should have been able to iron out, and if they had some faith in your act, I feel like they would have tested that type of thing...

I was there and in the live audience taping and can assure you the audience was NOT booing you guys! we were all booing the judges for slamming their X’s so prematurely!! we all cheered so loud and hard in support as you guys were walking both on and off the stage ❤ you guys are amazing and have brought so much positive light and awareness to the world of otamatones (which I personally think are the cutest instruments ever) through your content and have amassed hundreds of thousands & even millions of people who now know what they are and enjoy them too :) so proud of you guys! I love yall with my whole heart 💖💖
Definitely seemed like they were booing the act. It's ok to say it happened. The audience booed them offstage basically. You can't assure anything considering you can really only speak for yourself, unless you took a poll of the whole audience on if they were booing the act or the judges. But the more likely thing is the act sounded terrible in person, and people booed. It happens.
Not if you look up what they actually played. Like bro their earpieces were sabotoged, they were NOT playing good. I personally think it was an inside job 😊
Yeah, they'd should've talked about how all of them used be homeless, had stage 99 cancer, and how otamatones were the only things that brought them joy.
The sob story. Ah yes..must lead with that. Was it American Idol..(?)Simon was sooo enamored with the singer who adopted a bunch of kids..he got WAY further than he should have..then it was discoved he beat his wife..there went the talent.
First of all, you DID NOT fail. It wasn't your fault. I have a phenomenal, HUGE, 4K TV with awesome audio. ALL of your TH-cam videos sound FANTASTIC when I watch them on my TV. AGT's audio for your performance sounded like crap. I don't know if it was the mics or the mix, but all your instrument levels were too low, too dry and badly blended-not nearly as good as the Spanish crew's audio. No wonder you couldn't hear yourself on your in-ear monitor. All of this might've been done deliberately. Plus, Spanish Otamatonist Juanjo Monserrat had a full, orchestral score track running behind him. Your poor trio had squat. Honestly, it would not surprise me if you were cast to be rejected and used as filler. Of course, this is just a thought that's entered my mind. But hear me out: AGT is produced as a "reality show," which doesn't make it a legitimate competition. Legit competitions and contests of knowledge, skill, talent, etc., are produced under the "game show" TV program category. The producers and judges of these series must abide by certain laws and rules of judging, scoring and vote tabulation that reality shows do not. If AGT were a legit competition, viewer votes would be counted and the totals made public. So, don't feel badly. Once you agree to appear on AGT, as you well know, you give over most of your control to the show's producers and NBC. And, yes, you can only perform music from the catalog of titles whose rights the NBC Legal Department has cleared. The true display of your talent is on your TH-cam channels where anyone with half a brain can see that what you do is fun, entertaining, informative and outstanding. It's because of you that I now own an Otamatone Deluxe and am teaching myself to play it with precision. It's proving to be a great ear-training tool.
The more I learn about AGT, the more I dislike it. Scott Cramer did a video recently talking about the show, and it definitely opened my eyes. A+ for effort, and if it means anything, you're one of my favorite content creators for both your funny otomatone skills and your thoughtful and well-rounded opinions in a world full of hot takes and engagement farming. Keep on keeping on!
I was at my parents house and they had it playing in the background; as soon as I saw you I was shouting at the screen “Holy shit is that Sully?!” And was upset by the judges; still awesome to see ya’ll on tv.
It’s a great toilet plunger. Don’t listen to them. You got me into the Otamatone, and now I own one and can play it decently well. You inspire so many people. Don’t let AGT get you down, they don’t understand the sheer awesomeness that you bring to the table.
“This is my father’s otamatone…three years ago, he was buzzed off of this very stage. He was so embarrassed that he vowed to never touch an otamatone again. But maybe, just maybe, if this performance goes well… he’ll have another boost of inspiration. This one’s for you, Dad.”
America's Got Talent is a terrible program and they're known to treating the contestants poorly and forcing anti-artist signatures. Regarding the mic situation it's super unproffesional even for AGT's standards but you're not the first group to experience it. Many of the beatboxers / beatboxer groups that have competed haven't had proper in-ear mic setups either.
I have believed for as long as I can remember that this show does not support actual talent... to ANY extent. I said this in your chandelier video, but it still baffles me that they didn't give you a chance to even perform but were still perfectly okay with the "naked picture guy" going through with flying colors. I'm happy that you decided to take this though because if I would've known you were going to be on, I would have tuned in even if my support would have reasonably meant nothing :) Good job as always, and thank you for giving me an opportunity to say that AGT stands for "A Giant Trash-chute"
I wonder if they would do that. I remember when Aaron brought them on for a performance on tv withe cee lo green once so why not do it for americas got talent
my mom was watching americas got talent and then i saw this long haired guy holding what i thought was an otamatone. was quite surprised to that guy was you! its okay, the judges don't deserve you
It’s moments like this that make me glad I stopped watching AGT. It’s a pretty basic formula once you watch it. Glad you got to at least perform a little and show off Otamatones! It’s better than nothing.
Sully, the real reason you lost is because you didn’t make up a tragic backstory and you didn’t put on a sad façade to tug on the judges’ heartstrings.
It was an honor to serve with you 🫡 But for real man, thanks for keeping me sane through all this. You're a great guy for dropping everything to team up and go for this with me. We did our absolute best while working within all of the prompts and boundaries. Despite everything, I'm always going to be really proud of the track we put together.
Man, I was actually going to tune in if you guys got far, but I'm glad kinda that I missed it. Reality shows can be...strange. Luckily I already knew first hand they aren't all exactly as they're shown, even if the one (sorta "reality") I was on was pretty decent with how their aired stuff in its first iterations.
New Sully song idea "Were not classically trained musicians" 😂 I admire your courage and ability to put yourself out there and audition! I'm sorry you didn't get appreciated but never give up and keep on doing what you do. There will always be hate but don't forget you're great ❤
While I understand many of the commentators disappointment over the judges treatment of Sully, I feel they should express it without making any passive-aggresive towards the other contestants. I'm talking about those "Ugh, how DARE they treat Sully like this but they let XYZ performer on?!" type comments. Getting to perform anything on a platform as big as this one is nerve-wracking for anybody. Especially since there's a real possibility for being pubicly humiliated for even the smallest mistake. The contestants are probably going to get enough flak from the judges/audienceas it is, they don't need anymore from internet commenters. TL;DR If you don't like what the judges said to Sully and his team, why pass the same negativity to the other contestants?
I wouldn't feel too badly. I'm still listening to Alestorm and Lindsay Stirling, both of whom got slated on AGT, but when's the last time you heard anything from Michael Grimm?
AGT is a sham, I've never seen them promote actual talent or effort: it's always cheery feelgood dogs and pop songs. It's like Art Critics who always give the award to Kitsch, an atrocity.
There's a great video by someone who I can't remember that was an analysis of how more and more fake AGT has gotten over the years. Started good and legit and ended up... not that.
Ive always hated how on American idol and AGT (or anything Simon is behind), they bring bad or cringy acts on with the sole purpose of making fun of them and telling them to go back home, just feels dated and something we've should've just left in 2005. Not a huge fan of otamatone but I always enjoy them getting represented in tv and it was cool seeing one on AGT.
i was so upset when they instantly buzzed you! it felt like they just called you guys out to set you up as a joke on the show while giving you the idea you'd have a chance which really upset me. seems like you took it well though! thanks sully! wish they gave you more of a chance on the show.
Thank you for all that you do to share otamatones with the rest of the world. They are so much fun to play and it's channels like yours that inspired me to pick one up. ❤
I like "The Voice." While it still has some silliness like all those contests do, the coaches don't insult the performers (which AGT does a lot) and are kind and supportive. I quit watching "American Idol" a few years ago when they let Murphy (who is fantastic) go after repeatedly urging him to be himself. He was being himself; they just don't like "different" very much. They appeared amazed that Alejandro (who they did like) kept advancing all the way to runner-up. It shouldn't be surprising that a non-mainstream performer does well.
Just watched the show and saw you guys, didn’t know you existed before the show, but I knew what a otamatone was before hand. I had to look you guys up because I knew something seemed off when you started playing. Really happy I did because I got to see what you guys were really trying to do with chandelier. And I was hoping you’d have an explanation video to what happened. Really sucks it was a technical difficulty and really think they should have given you a second chance with the issue fixed.
I'm not a fan of otamatone music - it's neat but just not my style. That being said - I think this video is a fantastic look at how these shows just wanna profit off of people's talent. And while I may not like otamatone music - it still takes a ton of talent and dedication to learn it. It's just another instrument. And I can appreciate the discipline it takes for someone to learn how to play it. It's a shame that AGT took the angle that it did. And that our society kind of looks down on these less known hobbies and talents. I think you guys did fantastic and I appreciate this video.
Linsey sterling also got buzzed back in the day. She then became a huge star here on TH-cam and now they always have her back as a guest performer. So honestly, AGT judges know shit about true innovative talent.
Wow, great video! I too am a Got Talent flameout, but I went on stage in my furry costume for the Canadian version. Got a very similar icy reception along with all 4 buzzers. But unlike your experience, Howie was the biggest a-hole of the bunch! Don't kiss up to him, he's like the quintessential guy who puts on a front for the public and is a private menace. It's interesting that you had so much communication with the legal team as I didn't really have contact with anyone and put up a whole half an hour video talking about every aspect of my experience. But it's sad the show has become such a predictable anti-creativity reality slopfest now. I watched AGT religiously from 2006 to 2018, and so giving it a shot I had hoped for the same opportunities you were, but alas. We are recruited as jokes, and get treated as such. Thankfully my segment didn't get that much hate, and has actually been a positive thing for the furry fandom. :)
I got so excited when you guys walked on stage. it sucks they didnt give ya a chance on talking them more thorough on what a otamatone is so ya three wouldn't get buzzed so quickly. at least Terry and Howie enjoyed it though. shake my damn head on the rest of em.
I was also there that day during filming and was sad to see you guys get buzzed. I didn’t know what other way to contact you other than a TH-cam comment but didn’t want to risk spoiling anything but just know Brendan is not the only one but just the only vocal one, and he speaks for everyone and anyone else there that day that felt the same way!
I love this so much!! Despite the “bad” performance you had you kept going with what you love doing and you guys had SUCH an incredible act im speaking from experience. This was so interesting to see and you just gained a fan! I always thought of it as a silly instrument but seeing what you can do with it is incredible. Hope u try a live performance again sometime
Why were they so insistented on y'all being classical musicians? 😅 Anyway shame the judges didn't give y'all a chance but at least I found something new to listen to. Keep at it!
Man, I knew those shows were fake, but not _that_ fake. Like holy shit. Like the fact they said the exact same thing makes me wonder if they didn't purposefully cut your in ears to make your performance tank.
You don't by any chance still have a full recording of that initial *"Bring Me to Life"* cover, do you? (4:12) Or are you not allowed to post it here on TH-cam because of the NDA? *What I'm trying to get at is I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to hear/see it!* ☺ The music video for it on your other Channel is one of my favorites, and _a live performance of it_ (even if it's prerecorded) *sounds like it would be AWESOME!!* 😄
I'm sorry that happened to you guys I say you're really talented and I didn't what an otamatone was until I saw your channel also don't let people stop you for what you like to do
Hey sully i have a question. I have been looking for chuck e cheese and showbiz animatronics for a couple years and I feel like you would be a good experienced person to ask where I can find any. Every where I have looked they are all sold out as if I always am too late and I was wondering if you could sell any to me or suggest where I can buy some. I have been interested in robotics for 2 years now and have always been a fnaf fan. I am a 12 year old boy that has a dream and I want you to fulfill it. Thanks sully.
0:56 My family and I have been saying this, but it REALLY should be called World's Got Talent: (Name of Country this is being filmed in) And to hear your insider information just reconfirms that statement.
So to summarize… Sully: Man, it sucks that I missed out on the chance to get a gold buzzer on Spain’s Got Talent. 😔 **gets invited onto America’s Got Talent** Sully: Wow, it looks like I got a second chance! And given that the Otamatone act in Spain got a golden buzzer, things are looking good for-! **gets buzzed off the stage literally 10 seconds into performance** Sully: 😐 Dude, if all that happened to me, I would have just started crying.
You are wrong, Sully, you did not fail on America's Got Talent, America's Got Talent failed you.
So it's america's not got 'em talent
America has loads of talent. But NBC and AGT's producers are looking for ratings, sponsors and commercial income.
Agreed. It felt like the team behind AGT purposefully planned your downfall.
They knew the judges hated otomatones, so why would they invite a literal group of players to get humiliated like that?
Yall deserve the world. You are an amazing entertainer ❤
agreed too, i feel like a technical difficulty such as the ear mics not working shouldn't have been an oversight from the team behind it but a deliberate attempt to rig it
America's got Cringe!
- 2setViolin
"It sounds like a toilet plunger..." - How to tell me you've never plunged a single toilet in your entire life. Must be nice.
Yeah. As someone who plunges his own toilets it neither looks nor sounds like one
If that one judge thinks an otamatone looks like a plunger, then I think she needs to go somewhere else to buy her plungers.
As if she plunges her own toilet, or does her own shopping, lol.
Well, she’s German. It’s a different land
I'm pretty sure she doesn't buy (or use) her own plungers.
They film clips of people reacting in different ways in advance so they can edit it the way they want.
AGT and most talent based shows are always controlled by the producers.
you can clearly tell that they pick "bad performances" on purpose to stir ratings. would be a boring show if EVERYONE was good and moved on to the next tier of the show.
They absolutely do that!
They totally do. It's all set up in advance
So we have learned today that the America’s got talent judges cannot recognize talent, but spains got talent can.
Im excited to see what the future holds for the otama collective ‼️
Spains
The judges have almost no say. The producers dictate who goes through and who does not.
I feel like Terry Crews out of all people would understand your concept completely. Like unironically. The man helped put a gaming pc together for his son, and has done multiple live streams as well. He is very clearly versed in modern technology
Oh yeah, I watched his Danganronpa stream with his son.
Yeah that’s what it seemed like to me too.
It’s always like this with AGT tho. Reminds me of Lioz “telekinesis”
Definitely seemed like they were booing the act. It's ok to say it happened. The audience booed them offstage basically. You can't assure anything considering you can really only speak for yourself, unless you took a poll of the whole audience on if they were booing the act or the judges. Its so weird that one set of judges give one act the golden buzzer then give the exact same act 4 buzzers.
the american judges disliked both acts, the spain ones were who gave gold
Not if you look up what they actually played.
Like bro their earpieces were sabotoged, they were NOT playing good.
I personally think it was an inside job 😊
you should've started with a sad backstory Doofenshmirtz style to instsntly win
Yeah, they'd should've talked about how all of them used be homeless, had stage 99 cancer, and how otamatones were the only things that brought them joy.
“When I was a young boy I lost my choo choo train and was quite sad.”
The sob story. Ah yes..must lead with that. Was it American Idol..(?)Simon was sooo enamored with the singer who adopted a bunch of kids..he got WAY further than he should have..then it was discoved he beat his wife..there went the talent.
* America's Got Talent was the one
So Spain appreciates music more than America
I'm not surprised
SULLY WAS SET UP 😭
Sully…Sully…
You forgot the SAD backstory, I bet you would INSTANTLY get that buzzer after they hear that sob story! 😭👏👏
First of all, you DID NOT fail. It wasn't your fault. I have a phenomenal, HUGE, 4K TV with awesome audio. ALL of your TH-cam videos sound FANTASTIC when I watch them on my TV.

hi
Oh my god, it's like when Rhett and Link went on AGT for their dancing Zebra aaages ago and they only showed like 10 seconds of footage of them
It’s a great toilet plunger. Don’t listen to them.
You got me into the Otamatone, and now I own one and can play it decently well. You inspire so many people. Don’t let AGT get you down, they don’t understand the sheer awesomeness that you bring to the table.

I actually expect an Otama revolution where every future contestant for AGT shows up playing a Otamatone no matter how many buzzes there are
Come on team, this is possible
if you told a phony sad backstory, you would’ve gotten the golden buzzer without a doubt
I have believed for as long as I can remember that this show does not support actual talent... to ANY extent. Was nice meeting you back stage. You've got to live an experience only very very few people have had, congrats on pulling through :)
So nice getting to see you too! Can't wait to see your episode air!
The lesson of the story is that national television can be quite dumb at times lol
Who would've thought
Man they did you so dirty
Should go on with the rock a fire next time..
I wonder if they would do that. I remember when Aaron brought them on for a performance on tv withe cee lo green once so why not do it for americas got talent
YES! The Rocka Fire would get golden buzzers in my book lmao
This is terrible
my mom was watching americas got talent and then i saw this long haired guy holding what i thought was an otamatone. was quite surprised to that guy was you! its okay, the judges don't deserve you
Isn't just me, or I thought Sully's choice of clothing for this video and performance remind me of Billy Mitchell.
💀
Best toilet plunger on earth
dont let corporate zombies let you down man
oh hell yeah, I'm glad that someone in the audience sent that message. I was sure stoked to see you just got to be on TV :D
It’s moments like this that make me glad I stopped watching AGT. It’s a pretty basic formula once you watch it.

They did the Otama Collective dirty. They truly did.
Edit: Holy **** that’s a lot of likes! Thank you!
Kinda makes you wonder if they borked the in-ears on purpose to guarantee you'd fail...
So much production effort goes into that show, I have no doubt that was intentional.
I would have been not able to handle that loss, you guys are real troopers.
they def muted ur earpieces to make u look 'even worse'
Sully preformed Baka mitai afterwards I’m sure lol
Man, I was actually going to tune in if you guys got far, but I'm glad kinda that I missed it. Reality shows can be...strange. Luckily I already knew first hand they aren't all exactly as they're shown, even if the one (sorta "reality") I was on was pretty decent with how their aired stuff in its first iterations.
Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that Sully‘s real name is not Sully, but Gavin?
Yeah I was really surprised when he said that. I guess Sully might be his middle name?
... klavier?
hmm well maybe it's Sully G. as the g could be gavin
It's stupid they kicked you off in less than 10 seconds
Its like jumping to the conclusion that a song is bad without even hearing the full song
When I saw this on TV I pointed at the screen and said OH SHIT ITS SULLY and knew what was Coming!!
And with that, what little respect I had for these shows is zapped away
New Sully song idea "Were not classically trained musicians" 😂
I admire your courage and ability to put yourself out there and audition! I'm sorry you didn't get appreciated but never give up and keep on doing what you do. There will always be hate but don't forget you're great ❤
Holy moly, didn't knew you were on America's Got Talent
(Screw Simon Cowell, screw the judges, screw AGT, we know you really have that talent!)

@@3psilon9 Yep, they said she was a novelty act with no real talent.

Thank you for all that you do to share otamatones with the rest of the world. They are so much fun to play and it's channels like yours that inspired me to pick one up. ❤
It sounds like they purposely set up all up to fail
Boycott AGT for hating otamatone
Robbed! Robbed! I say!

Brendan is the goat
did NOT expect to see you here LOL
Just watched the show and saw you guys, didn’t know you existed before the show, but I knew what a otamatone was before hand. I had to look you guys up because I knew something seemed off when you started playing. Really happy I did because I got to see what you guys were really trying to do with chandelier. And I was hoping you’d have an explanation video to what happened. Really sucks it was a technical difficulty and really think they should have given you a second chance with the issue fixed.
You would’ve won if you said you’ve been bullied your entire life.
America's Got Talent is basically America's got "sad" backstories.
Hope you're doing good wherever you are. massive respect
I got so excited when you guys walked on stage. it sucks they didnt give ya a chance on talking them more thorough on what a otamatone is so ya three wouldn't get buzzed so quickly. at least Terry and Howie enjoyed it though. shake my damn head on the rest of em.
shoulda gone on with a sob story. They always get through
9:40 yea nice that someone liked it... i hate how other people be mean and judgy right away... like y'know.. i actually dont even like booing
As an aspiring musical artist, I have massive respect for you and your partners. Good job 👍🏻
You got talent! You always have had talent buddy! We’re all here for you.
It doesn't matter, you're already more popular than any winner of that show will be
I love this so much!! Despite the “bad” performance you had you kept going with what you love doing and you guys had SUCH an incredible act im speaking from experience. This was so interesting to see and you just gained a fan! I always thought of it as a silly instrument but seeing what you can do with it is incredible. Hope u try a live performance again sometime
should have put in the sad backstory 😔
Why were they so insistented on y'all being classical musicians? 😅 Anyway shame the judges didn't give y'all a chance but at least I found something new to listen to. Keep at it!
Man, I knew those shows were fake, but not _that_ fake. Like holy shit. Like the fact they said the exact same thing makes me wonder if they didn't purposefully cut your in ears to make your performance tank.
I love the toilet plunger music. keep it up

Brenden the goat
*Brendan. But yes, absolutely, thank him.
Don't give up there always next year
unique ! - would actually love to see the trio performance
I thought it was very talented. You are awesome
you forgot to tell them that your mom died when you were five and that you have cancer and only have 2 weeks left to live you silly goose
Sully: "The fans hate me so much"
Fans: "We hate AGT so much"
I'm sorry that happened to you guys I say you're really talented and I didn't what an otamatone was until I saw your channel also don't let people stop you for what you like to do
Sally, the Ottoman Coll. were great and the song its great ♥️
where did that Sally came from, though? Ottocorrect I assume, but I laughed when rereading so maybe it brings the same joy to someone else
You know there was a magician who also got booed off in 10 tragic seconds. Something to do with a glass ending up his *buzzer!!!*
This was so oddly inspiration. You truly are Sully the G.
Watched you on peacock, the rerun, knew it was you, I was ecstatic to see you
0:56 My family and I have been saying this, but it REALLY should be called World's Got Talent: (Name of Country this is being filmed in) And to hear your insider information just reconfirms that statement.
So... it's one of those "judges are classist/No True Scotsman" things, combined with technical difficulties?
You did as best as you can do. I thought it was awesome too
So to summarize…
Sully: Man, it sucks that I missed out on the chance to get a gold buzzer on Spain’s Got Talent. 😔
**gets invited onto America’s Got Talent**
Sully: Wow, it looks like I got a second chance! And given that the Otamatone act in Spain got a golden buzzer, things are looking good for-!
**gets buzzed off the stage literally 10 seconds into performance**
Sully: 😐
Dude, if all that happened to me, I would have just started crying.
honestly i think agt pre scripts who wins and who doesnt
Common AGT L, you should've made it to the final round, Sully
