Seems like a pretty solid product from Logitech. The price though means it's definitely not for people first getting into sim racing. Probably meant for people getting their second wheel when they get more serious. You showed off all the features and what it brings to the table along with some great editing and commentary. Fantastic video man. Keep up the great work.
I have been leaning towards this as my first sim rig as it seems like a better entry than going all in into fanatec like I was originally planning haha.
I disagree I bought this as my second wheel and I totally regret spending the $500 on a thrustmaster t248 because if I would have just went with the Logitech direct drive right away there wouldn't be a $500 wheel collecting dust right now so if you know Sim racing is something you're going to stick with I highly suggest just buying it right away and to be honest $1,000 isn't that much money people that complain that it is are just broke and need to get a better paying job. Everybody knows you pay for what you get and I really feel like Logitech priced it very fairly considering how great of a wheel it really is
@@SimChaserRoseRacer you dont seem to account for different countries differing economies. $1000 may not be a lot for most Americans, but for most South Africans, its a month’s salary on which you can live relatively comfortably.
@@SimChaserRoseRacer hey dopey I'm here in Australia. I've spent over $15 000 au on my rig in the last year. And I certainly wouldn't spend $2200 au for this plastic fantastic garbage Far better options out there.. But hey.. As old saying goes "a fool and his money soon part"..

I used this wheel back in September at PAX. first time ever gaming with a wheel (outside Mario Kart when I was little lmao) and it felt absolutely amazing.
Your setup is clean. I hope to get mine to a level like this.
Currently I have the g29 and handbrake and the gt omega stand.
Happy to see Logitech offering something like this. As someone who has raced basically my entire life, I never felt the need to get a simulation set up, but this is convincing me that it might be worth it (sans g force) considering there's actually resistance/something more comparable to real life intuition.
You know there are a lot of other brands who offer even better ones and way more real?

looks like a sweet product from Logi, however i dont think i could support the over $1k price when other great DD wheels have been out for a while and are a little cheaper, ill have to wait and see if they lower the price lol

I think the lack of eco system for the wheel itself lets it down. That’s why TM or even fanatec etc seem more appealing
yeah between that, not releasing their own first party adapters for older Logi pedals and shifters (even if they suck without mods) AND not offering a newer more pro quality shifter or even announcing one yet it just feels like its a really undersupported ecosystem at this point.
I plan to get the Leo Bodner USB cable for my modded/inverted Logitech pedals that increases their sensitivity resolution (and allows you to use them with any wheelbase) and just pairing it with a Moza r9 wheelbase for now, Trueforce is cool and all but since I am installing bass-shaker tranducers on my new rig it seems a bit redundant esp since developers cannot even get info on how to interface with it or add support to their games without directly working with logitech its basically still a DOA tech.
One thing I love about the Moza eco system is its just a standard D1 spec quick release so you can use basically any wheel u want.

I have not felt any level of rumble or friction or anything so far on smooth tarmac i get rumble on dirt or gravel roads it's like driving on a snooker table ie Dirt Rally 2 i expect at least some slight vibration from tarmac or is that not how direct drive wheels perform?
Real cars generally aren't supposed to vibrate on tarmac either

No Tarmac is ultra smooth in real life and performace cars have stiff suspension so yes i would expect some kind of feeling through the wheel minimum of course but at least some,as an ex bus and wagon driver and having owned a Fiesta ST and now a tuned mini Cooper S zero vibration is unreal.
direct drive is a karting term for shifter karts that had full automatic gear selection. Roberto Moreno of Benetton was a big supporter of this in Brazil.
Direct drive karts have no clutch and no gears.
Is it possible to use fanatec pedals with this wheel?
If you can plug a component into the computer by USB, then it works. So if you can plug the Logitech wheel into one USB and the Fanatec pedal into another USB, you just choose those in the settings menu of the game. This goes for all sim hardware.
if pc gaming you can do everything, just connect the usb to the pc and that's it... if console gaming no, everything need to be plug and be compatible with the wheel itself

@@RJ-cq8dd Most people don't earn that amount in a month so yeah the price is crazy lol , I live in middle europe so not a 3rd world country and 1000 dollar is more than what most people earn in a month, for a hobby product it is a lot of money, you can justify your spending all you want but DD wheels are overpriced for people who just wanna spend a few hours a week playing
@@davidkosiba624 The fact that not everybody can afford it does not mean it is overpriced (the word you are looking for is expensive). There are still enough wheels in the lower segment for that audience.

I wouldnt judge this wheel or any DD wheel on f1 22 game as the FFB is not good in that game
I'm too broke to get even the cheapest one. I still use a broken ps4 controller for my f122 game. It must be nice watching you guys use a wheel🤣😭

they said they will release in few weeks an adapter to make compatible the old stuff, pedals and old shifter... I don't know if they will make a new, better, one but if you play on pc you can connect any shifter in the market and use it
the biggest mistake from Logitech was jumping too high with the price probably because of the 11nm.... I played with the Fanatech with 8nm and was even too much for me, nice for few laps and too heavy for a full race (obviously talkinf for myself)... they could easily make a wheel with 7/8nm, or like fanatec make a 5nm upgradable to 8 with a separate accessory and give to the consumer a different price point... starting from 500$ (for a good DD is ok) to 7/800 with the upgrade... when you think on Fanatec you aspect to pay extra money, Thrustmaster little less but still on the costly side, with Logitech you aspect a budget product, good quality but on the budget side, and when they ask top money it doesn't work right
I deff agree with you. Especially the part about Logitech offering maybe 5nm/8Nm for people that don’t want 11NM or maybe they just prefer to go wothv5NM to save money. This Logitech is my only real opinion for ps5 be of Fanatec poor customer service and I honestly believe I won’t need anything close to 11NM. My crappy g29 is about 2.5 NM and I think 5/8 would be plenty. If only Logitech have a shit and just released 4 extra wheels, a really nice sequential shifter and handbrake . I’d love way more accessories but I’d be happy with few wheels and the basic of handbrake and shifter but I think because Logitech probably didn’t sell many of this wheel, they won’t bother making any more wheels.
Why would they go to all the trouble if hardly anyone bought the wheel and they know they won’t sell them
Although, if they had 2 wheels, shifter and handbrake at launch and showed they had more products in production, many more console players at least , would have bought this. If I buy it and am stuck with 1 wheel for years, I won’t be happy. Almost feel like I bought an expensive car but can’t drive it.

Had no idea you weren’t using a loadcell…my advice is to fully lean into it, make the pedal as hard to push as is possible….takes a bit to get used to but it’s much better when you do

I have one question. Real f1 driver look on race track with that camera? They have head on top of halo? No. They seat on the seat place. They dont see apex, like this cam. ;) 😉
*IMPORTANT WARNING*: Logitech ( DO NOT ) carry spares or have service centres. I have thrown the gpro wheels and pedals into the bin for the sake of a $2 part. They DO NOT carry any form of spares and even the smallest issue will result in the unit being bricked. Stick to an item with aftersale support and spares.

Let me guess, you spent zero time testing compatibility with for example f1 2015 and earlier or any of the need for speed games, I bought a fanatec DD wheel and 90% of my driving games dont work

@@menphues different technology, one is Direct Drive, DD, the other one is Gear Driven system... completely different approach and cost... the 8nm Fanatec cheapest DD is 850$ ONLY the wheel base, no wheel no pedals... the new Thrustmaster DD 10nm is around 700$ only wheel base... this one is 11nm with the wheel as well at 1000 bucks, the cheapes Fanatec wheel is 200$.
For reference a non DD system, like the new Thrustmaster T248 is around 320/350$.

@@juryfilanti I think you are talking to the wrong person, to me it’s a wheel. It’s peddles. It does not warrant the silly price tag personally for the same thing… being a wheel to drive around. Example, my updated graphics card gets more frames so better performance right. That is different, yes they are both the same being a GPU but different performance. This is a wheel, it doesn’t effect my driving at all. I still turn down force feed back on a few games. I still drive around a track being the same thing or even doing some trucking on truck sim. So I think your comment is wasted dude.

What to believe.... I dunno.... I have the Playseat Logitech g edition and it's crying for this wheel but I have the Thrustmaster 248 and I can't believe my times will get much better? Is it worth the money? Frustrating. The sim rig... Playseat trophy Logitech g... Is totally worth it... Solid as f_ck.... Sigh...
f1 22 is not the best game to get moste out of dd wheel.
play it on asseto corsa the rest of the sims are pretty trash in comparison.
For the price its a rip off, get a Moza wheel and base, so much better!

How can u play like that ? It's like sitting on a chair on top of the car like mr.bean , why u dont use a proper view?
Because for a single screen setup the horizontal FOV is much more realistic than cockpit view.
@@scottishwildcat nope , i play with single screen and the view its 1/1 with the Real life car in cockpit view if you set it right
I cant see my morrors on cockpit view. Fov is better on overhead cam. I also have a wide screen and it makes no difference on cockpit view.
