Yeah go to a lawyer because lawyers are the ones that buy charged off debts and they are the debt collectors. Try to make a deal with a credit card company if they don't work with you start over
I had $40,000 in credit card debt I filed for bankruptcy i did not have to pay back one penny if you on SSI disability you can not be sue for credit card debt are child support or spousal support.
I have several credit cards but only one with a very high interest rate. Is there a way I can get a credit card settlement on just that ONE debt and not have to claim all my Credit cards?
I have 40000$ in credit card debt, its been 3 years, I have moved out of the country to canada. i would like to comeback to usa and avoid debt and live free life. i dont have assets in usa. what to be done can anyone advise?
We hat if I'm on disability n can't pay them anymore heard the can't take money out my disability checks unless it's taxes or federal or child support but not disability
i used to work now i get social security and i been trying to pay my cards off but its taking all my income each month and i don't know what to do since the interest rate went up the payment went up i don't know what to do.
Yes but you have to pay taxes on the forgiven debt anything over $600 debt forgiveness is taxed and u will receive a 1099 example u owe 10,000 they settle for $5000 u will owe taxes on 4,400
This is also WAY WRONG! If your liabilities exceed your assets there is an IRS form to file where you will owe ZERO taxes. Yes you report, no you do not have to pay!
So let me run this scenario past you say you don’t care about your credit score no more you’re only source of income is Social Security. You’re retired and you’re living overseas in Asia you don’t even live in the United States anymore so what would be the downside to living off your credit cards until they shut them all down and then simply not paying on them, they can’t garnish your wages because you’re on Social Security you don’t care about credit scores anymore because you’re in your 60s and since it’s unsecured debt and you’re living 10,000 miles on the other side of the Earth, I don’t see any downside to simply not paying them even if they turn the forgiven debt into the IRS and created a 1099C you can get canceled by fill out another IRS form showing that you make very low income on Social Security just figured I would throw that scenario out there
If you have no assets and you're sued, there is nothing to be collected! Who has 5k cash to settle when they are in this situation. Very dubious advice here!
what if you lost your job because of Covid 19? How will you payoff your credit card debt? Will the credit card companies be willing to work with you? Will credit company consider hardship due to Covid 19?
Oftentimes, the credit card companies will take into consideration financial hardships. It depends on your situation. Give me a call at 858-217-5051 and I can go over your options with you.
