If the cavities are mostly in the back teeth, and you get heartburn a few nights a week. Have yourself checked for Gurd or acid reflux. It would also account for the top of the teeth.
I had the top of the teeth cavities and back of the mouth. Found out I had acid reflux at night. For some reason Dentists, at least in the states, have no clue this can happen. Took an ENT doctor to point it out when I was 35. But Acid reflux can happen at any age. Mine started around 18.

Patong Smile was recommended to me by a friend and I have used them a couple of times. Always friendly and tell you whats happening at each step. I provided them with a quote of what my local dentist said I needed. Patong Smile said they would only give me an estimate because they wanted to check what I needed for themselves. I took their recommendations and ended up having a decent holiday, dental work, glasses, suites etc and about NZ$6000.00 less than what my local dentist quoted. Best decision I've ever made.
Amalgam. Quite a few years ago I had 4 root canals and 2 cavities taken care of in one year. It cost me 2k usd after the insurance payout. That was in 1986. I could only imagine what it would cost now.

Hi Rob, Kev-in-Thailand and myself have been very very impressed with PIDC '' Pattaya International Dental Center'' Kev strongly recommended them to me for my dental work. i was very happy with the work carried out and i know that Kevin was also very pleased. They are not the cheapest but i feel are very good. Just thought I would mention one in Pattaya. cheers Phil

Had a crown done in pattaya after i was told by my california dentist 1200 dollars would be the cost i think i paid $200 and the work was great and Dr cherry was excellent... i enjoyed my 2 week trip and including my dentistry was almost the same cost as i would have paid in U.S.A so all in all i got a vacation some great times and a crown.. L.A Rob
Do they do the crown in one visit or do they make a artificial one followed by a real one later?
@stegura83 they do a temporary crown and within a few days from that visit the permanent crown is done . figure five days is needed...
@stegura83 I forgot to say if you are going to he in Bangkok . Silom Dentistry is a big outfit and maybe able to do it faster I was in pattaya a beach city..
@@intsccents last one I did in the US took close to a month for the permanent crown to arrive.

Rob, thanks for this. Very useful to know. Broke a tooth last year and had to have it extracted. The first dental work I've ever had done, however the cause is gum disease and it looks like the other 5 wisdom teeth are going to have to come out at some point. Given the prices quoted here in the UK for 'advanced' cleaning, was over £1000. My instant thoughts was to wait till I'm in Thailand.

Hey Rob, I was just thinking about looking for a dentist. It is one of the things I dread to do. I am like you because I have put it off for a long time and I just have to do it.
I'm in Bangkok now so if they have 5 offices I'm sure one of them should be close to me. Can you tell me witch office you went to? It would be nice to let him know that you are recommending him and it worked.

Real cheap bro, wish I was in Thailand cause I have not been to the dentist for 47 years except for one filling in Japan 33 years ago and tte extraction of that same tooth( Sh!ty work from the Japanese dentist who did not even clean out the tooth before the filling ) that tooth imploded from rotting due to his work and needed extraction.

Personally I like a tourist place when there are no tourists or very few. Of course the locals want customers in their shops, I get that. I guess I wish there were more Thais enjoying the tourist areas as well there, why not, instead of working for peanuts serving farangs. Thanks for showing the nice beach area.

Edelweiss dentist in Bangkok just one of their Japanese ex rays machines cost 4 million baht . 16 dentist work for them in one offices it’s was 5 star plus teeth whitening 15 , 000 , tooth implants 90 ,000 one tooth . Crown 20 ,000 cavity filling 1,000 to 1,500. Baht so how good is that . Cleaning teeth 1.500 . Jc

19 cavities? How? Do you do 6 month checkups and floss? Do whatever you need to prevent dental issues. Nothing worse than listening to farangs moan about dental issues, youre better than that!
