Had rotator cuff surgery at Bumrungrad. Arrived at BKK airport 7am and got to Bumrungrad about 10am. That day met with the doctor, did all bloodwork, Xrays, MRI, etc, etc. Next morning at 0500am they were wheeling me into the operating room. Just fantastic professional service. I had my left knee replaced at Bumrungrad the end of 2017 after enduring three years of bone on bone knee pain. In early 2019 I went back to Bumrungrad to have bone spurs removed from my right knee before too much cartilage wore out and all is still good. Also, I had LASIK surgery on both eyes in 2008 at Bumrungrad when I was 49 and I am now 64 and both eyes I still see perfectly.

I had a full dental restoration that included 2 abstractions, 3 root canals, 5 upper and 6 lower restorations, 5 crowns, and 5 - YES FIVE - implants, and saved at least $50 thousand dollars if done in the U.S.
More importantly, the dentist was Western trained, spoke perfect English, had 3 assistants with me at all times, and the technology was state-of-the-art.
It was a wonderful experience and I will NEVER pay NY prices and suffer their pitiful and indifferent care again.
BTW, my implants were $685. each - earlier this year (2023). Not the $1950. listed in this video. So you can get even better deals too.

I am from Thailand living in the US. I reviewed the Everhealth Care website and was impressed that all the Thai hospitals they listed are very good hospitals.
I went to Korea with an agency for medical treatments. When I compare the service and the care I received, I prefer Thailand. In Korea, it seems the doctor avoided talking to me. The nurse never come to check on me. I had to bang in the wall to call for attention because the device use to call a nurse that they gave to me after the surgery fell off and I couldn’t call a nurse to help me with the pain.

Most of medical practitioners (md, surgeons, dentists, pharmacists etc.) are in the top 1% of the worker pyramid in Thailand. Lots of specialists graduated from North America or Europe so apart from some specific equipments, expertise and skills are at top notch (for private hospitals). The government has to subsidize the cost of medical care so it is accessible by its people so that's why it's very popular for the westerns. Our approach is a hybrid between US and EU, we have public healthcare system (lower QoS due to the number of patients) and private hospitals (better QoS and expensive for locals but considerably cheap for westerns).

If you live in the US, please CHECK if your insurance will cover some of your health costs in Thailand.
Case in point. In 2019 a dental crown would cost me $1200 in the state where I live. With my dental insurance, I would pay $857 there. I had my crown done at Bangkok's Thantakit Dental Clinic. With their 10% cash discount I paid $568.93. My dental insurance reimbursed me $332.16 for this 'out of network' service for the crown. My final cost was $236.77.
This is not an isolated case.
In 2015 I had a comprehensive physical exam done at Bangkok General Hospital costing $592.45 where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. A few months later after filing a claim, my Blue Cross affiliated plan reimbursed me $520.92. My final cost was $71.53.

I just got a call yesterday from the dental school that I go to for any dental work in Hawthorn, NY. They wanted to get me on the schedule for the two implants and crowns that I need . When the coordinator gave me the price it took me a couple of seconds to swallow, $1600 for each implant and $1500 for each crown, $6,200!!! To makes matters worse my sister who works in medical billing for a huge medical group told me that's a great price because its half of what is being charged throughout New York. If I go to the dental facility Chris mentioned in another video, and get the Korean implants, I could get both implants for under $2,200, as well as a couple of other procedures, and still be able to cover hotel accommodations, food and round trip flights...

The Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis refused to negotiate their fees (all of them). As an "uninsured" I had to pay out-of-pocket on everything (cash, paid before anything was done). I had MOHS surgery and this cost over $90,000. I paid the bill, and this bankrupted me and my family. Now, I'm looking for spinal surgery and there is no place in the United States that is even remotely affordable. I still can't afford health insurance here either. The US has the worst healthcare in the world and it's the biggest scam operation I've ever seen.

Ever Health is some kind of tour agent that makes it convenient for neo medical tourists to get treatment in Thailand at affordable costs. However, for decades there have been several leading private hospitals offering such services through words of mouth reputation and these hospitals are still doing roaring business right now as they have extensive contacts with several countries. Another option is to get treatment from leading teaching hospitals in Bangkok such as Siriraj, Chula and Rama. They do cater for international patients and all staffs speak English at their international division. All those experts in private hospitals all go through these 3 medical schools for their first medical degree before they study aboard to get specialist certificate, mostly in the US, UK and Japan. Of course, their teachers in Thailand's 3 leading teaching hospitals also got specialist certificates from US, UK, Japan before returning to continue their teaching/treating patients in these 3 leading hospitals.

Chris: This is one of the most valuable videos to have ever been on YT! I may even stop referring to it as Useless Tube after this! LOL
I have severe back pain due to an injury. Almost ten years ago I was paralyzed from the waist down. The top surgeons and specialists in New England stated that I would spend the rest of my life in a wheel chair. My response to them was, shall we say, significantly less than polite and quite loud! LOL
After three months I walked out of the hospital and have been walking ever since. I may need a cane on occasion but, I'm still mobile and it still hurts, A LOT! Even though I have some serious pain medication prescribed, I only use it on rare occasions. I refuse to become addicted to them and the best way is to not use them. Big Pharm will have to find another lab rat with which to experiment!
I have done extensive research and found there is a procedure which has been proven successful many times. The downside is that in the "good 'ol US of A", it is illegal because it requires cloning the material in my own body. Yeah! It uses my own stem cells! (Damned religious zealots screwed that pooch right to Hell!) I did discover a hospital in Beijing that can actually reverse and cure the herniated disc AND restore the severely degenerated discs in my spine. The only problem is that it is in Beijing. We all know how great things are going there so, that place is off the list! Go figure! LOL
If there is any way that such repair work can be done in Thailand I'm in for it! Is this something that is a possibility over there? Of course, I will be checking with Ever Healthcare to see if they know of any possibilities but, I thought I would ask you since other subscribers may have or know of some else who is in need of such corrective measures.
The only real problem will be funding such an adventure since my health care insurance is only good in the USA and stops as soon as I leave our airspace! Thanks a lot Uncle Sam you short sighted greedy jerk!
One last thing is that I am seriously considering moving to Thailand based upon the videos that you have made coupled with my own research. It has so much to offer and I have little to lose. I can already speak a bit of Thai along with Vietnamese and Japanese so, why not?
    What do you think?

For me to look for a specialist in Medellin was that the referral process here in LA takes about 3 months, has very high deductibles plus, the cost of the treatment when a insurance company denies the claim. In Colombia I was able to see a dermatologist the within a day the consultation, treatment and medication was only $110.00.

Some foreigners've just received data about red light area perspective. In spite of many tourists came to Thailand with so much more perspective than that.
Appreciate your videos, I'm always enjoy watching them (useful & comfy).

    Great job Chris.
Actually there are 66 JCI Accreditation hospitals in Thailand and all of them have great doctors and services (it depends on what you're looking for). Of course all of them are private hospitals, as I remember in 1992 Thailand have only 3 or 4 JCI accreditation hospitals and look how many they have now. I had positive experiences with these Thai hospitals myself and would recommend everyone to try. If you are looking for good doctor good service and value for your money.
