Sorry, dude. Only released in the U.S. in very limited numbers, just to make the 'factory' requirement for race bikes; 1985 and '86. I owned #21. Hobbled into the dealership on crutches to get it.
@@ridetillidie8090 The VF1000R was also sold in Europe, slightly different from the USA version. They where also sold with a Rothmans livery. See this website: honda.vf1000.com/vf1000r
@@wimheitinga728 I'd just been run over when the '85 came out. My Honda guy called and said "You need to see this bike." I went on crutches and took it home that day. If the Rothman's would have been available, I'd have snagged one. LOVE my VF1000R.
@@ridetillidie8090 They're amazing machines. Nice to read how you fell in love with yours. I'm restoring a Rothmans VF1000R in my sparse free time, hope to ride it next year or maybe in two, I don't want to rush the restoration.
@@wimheitinga728 Wow. Totally jelly. I tried to buy another one at auction (18 miles on it) but had to drop at $8500. It sold for $9,500. :( Nobody knew what it was. :D The winner was a phone bidder, just like this one.
