Nairobi, the land of cool waters, has reclaimed its name back. Mother nature is refilling her reserves kwa mpigo. The problem is that the planners 4got that rivers know their course, and they will always fight for their space.
We can't entirely blame the government. I'm somewhere in the UK and at some point it experienced heavy floods, though with light rains. God is in full control of nature, even with the best drainage system, it's what it is. Kenya nchi yetu, hakuna matata.
But the response....u know how majuu pesa ya tax payer work, and their response to emergency is top notch. The country need to be recolonized again.
Amen amen and amen blessings also let's remember to repent
True brother let's love our motherland a place we call home this is nature
@@lopeenyashTell that to the people who are sleeping on iron sheet roofs without food or medical care for more than a week without any help from the government. We cannot be proud of that
No one is blaming government for floods, they are being blamed for doing nothing.
Since time immemorial, south c has always flooded, especially hapo Akiba Bellevue road 🛣️
If rain for one month drops in one hour, NO amount of drainages can cope. Drainages are not constructed for abnormal rainfall but normal rain. What nairobi has experienced is not unusual. There are floods all over the world including recently in Dubai.
Planning for scenarios that are not stretched beyond normal is poor planning. You must consider best case scenario, most likely scenario and worst case scenario. Densely populated places like Nairobi must take planning to the extreme ends of worst case scenario.
I blame this on the highrise buildings mushrooming all over the city with no proper planning, due to corruption in the construction industry!
Dolphine thanks for the updates and we are always here to support you have less worries
Woow!!!
Hii ni njai ya kwenda kwetu!!🥹🥺☹️🥲🥹🥹 Langata carnival lady in France 🇫🇷
Watu waache kutupa takataka kwa road. It might not solve all the problem but positive move
Thanks for your feedback
Watching from New York City thank you and stay save.
Stay safe as you inform us on the happenings
Watching you from Ireland, [Europe], I pray that everything goes well, after that biblical disaster, [is the best definition 2 describe what just happened 2 beautiful Kenya!!]. I try (2) find some1 (2) talk on this topic, but un4tunately I cannot. I do, understand their fury & mad (4) what they deal now. On your video, you did very good job, I give you that!!
Dolphine, am watching from Japan. Whaaah 😮
This is serious.Maai Mahiu,Kijabe has also had a serious disaster.
Japan is a country which also faces a lot of natural disasters esp earthquakes, tsunami etc.I live in Japan and the gvt here is very fast in responding.Kenya must up its disaster management.
WOW, not looking safe for motorists, just yet. Thanks for sharing, and stay safe!
It is best to stay home if you don't have to go. I just cancel my trip to town
I noticed even here in Nakuru even if there is no flooding. The kiosks on the roadside throw all their garbage in the drainage system. It is so disappointing
True hata hotels they are doing the same
South c always floods but these is crazy
Thank you for showing us the situation
South c in kusawa compared to other zones.
Nice one❤
Watching from mji wa Texas, Wa! Kenya ni nchi yetu lakini.
Watching from 🇺🇸. Stay safe.
Thanks 👍
The government can only give the basic needs to the people.I am in Italy, we had flood in Bergamo, it was devastating. People lost property and lives. The right question should be how do we help the affected people?
Keep safe and Thanks for the update!
Thanks, will do!
Am in Thika, Kenya. The floods are crazy and killing so many Kenyans!
Nairobi doesn't have drainage. What we have is one foot mitaros that do nothing when it rains. A river like that passing near t mall needs dredging and water like that in south c is drained by atleast five or six metre diameter drainage ducts beneath the road
The first one is not south sea that's nai west ,sea nikuazia kwa mosque
Dolphine 254 thank you for your hard work and courage to do this. The two main things that are causing all the flooding. One, all trees throughout the country being cut and not protected from tree poachers. There needs to be massive tree planting throughout the country, and the government who collects our taxes needs to fence and protect them all. Second, the government needs to upgrade the entire sewage systems from all over Kenya. That is the second major problem why there is so much out of control flooding in the cities and towns.
I can also add a third. Citizens are out of control just throwing rubbish all over instead of disposing in rubbish bins or burning the rubbish immediately to curb the blockage of ALL the drains for water to flow correctly. I have worked in conservation for years in America. These are the three major issues affecting Kenya and the reasons why people are dying in high numbers due to the flooding.
Thanks for the clips
Welcome
Always here
STAY SAFE TO OOUT THERE
The government should require all builders to collect all the water from their roofs and store it in tanks that can be beautifully masked with the tank overflow then being allowed to overflow into the drainage system, if there is a drainage system. Alternatively, the county can do it for existing buildings and require new builders to do it for any new construction. They can even make the tanks out of concrete.
What is your profession?
**""allow it to drain into the drainage system, if there is A Drainage System""** 😮😅😊
@@robertadwar333 my profession is that I am a human observer and since everything is always about cost, I am thinking of a quick solution as we wait for the "funds" that we cannot afford. If rural people can collect water coming out of their roofs, why can't cities? I know that there are better solutions but why should people suffer while they wait for those solutions?
Stay safe please, thank you so much for bringing us to speed !
Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
These floods are of really serious concern. Stay safe in Nairobi please if you can 😮
No, this lady has a pretty soul, just btw. Stay safe!
Totally agree. Was going to make the same comment then found yours.
this is why i can't wait to move to konza
Take care !
So very sad to see the terrible floods in Nairobi Kenya. Well done you for being so brave to highlight the situation.
South C not very bad
Asante sana mchapa kazi, keep safe and God bless
Shukran...
really good content ..thanks
Thanks for your feedback
Thanks for the update Dolphine especially for those who are travelling.
Thanks 🙏🏾
You can rename the chanel to Dolphine's kenyan disaster channel... The car drivers must be really careful, if water gets into the Air Intake System, even on SUVs, the motor is dead, that's why some Landrovers have onepiece Air intakes on the side, '4WD AIR INTAKE SNORKELs'. And they also help to avoid dust coming into the machine
Goood job...Thank You for guiding Alerting.....vry much appreciating
It's my pleasure
254, thanks for the updates. I never knew that Nairobi has actual rivers running through it until now. I left Kenya in the 90s for the UK. I wonder how Roysambu is fairing on especially Lumumba Drive.
What do you mean, you've never come back since?😮
Not Nairobi waters but The Kenya Water Institute, where water engineers are produced
Ooh okay 👍🏽
The problem is poor urban planning and lack of accountability plus corruption. Upkeep on drainage systems lacking. Curious to know what the disaster management plan was and was funding kept for the "just incase". Sad to see but flooding this year across the globe has been unprecedented . Be safe and as kenyan's we strive forward! check in on neighbors; family; help strangers we are one
We had to go back in the morning after reaching t mall fly over because it was too dangerous to proceed to madaraka from langata. The river had extended to cover the entire road
Was it a must to get somewhere? Why are Kenyans putting themselves in danger?
Good afternoon, good content. I will come to Nairobi next tomorrow maybe we can start funding together. Greetings from the Netherlands
Okay..that's great..welcome to Nairobi kindly WhatsApp me on 0769 738 124
When was this??I live in South C and I didn't see it
Thank you for showing us the real havoc this rain has taken. Courageous lady 👍👃16:41 16:41
Thanks for your support
Canada tupooo, tunawaombea sana 254 n keep up the good job ya kutupea updates
Thanks for representing Canada 🇨🇦
What do you notice in areas where water is flooding roads? There are no storm drains and people have built kiosks on road reserves where storm drains could have been built.
Just wait and see in three month's time those roads will be impassable because of potholes.
thanks ❤
I'm glad to see you here baby girl
Your camera is better than most
Thanks
His umemaliza. Good caption, intro and great job!
Glad you liked it!
They have to build dip tunnels in urban areas on the the road clean drainage systems during dry times when there is no rain and try to build drainage systems in all roads. to reduce flooding in Nairobi urban areas.
From Jomo Kenyatta International 'Aquarium' to South 'Sea', Nairobi is officially The City in the Floods!
Ongera kwa kazi yako

2day we had the 2nd flood in a week in Athi River.
Where can someone drop stuff like clothes? Thank you for making an effort to show us the situation on the ground.
there are several camps holding people who have been affected by the floods like in naivasha ... some of the public schools are being used as rescue camps for the affected areas
me and my boyfriend are planning to visit them over the weekend
WhatsApp me on 0769 738 124
Question: doesn't the Tana River originate in Ethiopia?_^_^_😢😊
Lord Heal Our Nation🙏
I was supposed to travel to Nairobi end of May....now I might lose money. Do you know if it is bad in Parklands? And Sweetwaters?
lack of STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEMS in Nairobi. It has been a problem even when i used to live in Kenya over 15 years ago because They build roads and chimba mutaros to drain water instead of real Drainage systems....Part of the corruption...Look at the side of the road, thise are just mutaros or in some places there is nothing that drains away water. The road built in the sunny days inaweza kudanganya wengi.....Looks great when dry but wacha it rains!... Lived in an Estate back then pretty beautiful when it was dry! When it rained is when you realised you were living in a swamp
Even where there is drainage mtaros, they are not covered to keep off huge debris, and people have not been informed on the importance of not using the drainage furrows as trash disposal.
anagali cheptiret center in Uasin Gishu and then useme n kama n government ndo responsible...even Oman and Dubai
@@Osca-Mutai U.A.E and Oman don't consider drainages on there roads as it rarely rains. You can't compare those Countries with ours.
@@Osca-Mutai for sure i dont know why people kila kitu wanalia gava state like Dubai bn and ina flood so pia drainage sio enhanced,,,,,,,,people should not blame the govt everytime
@@alexwanyonyi4877Yes we should blame the govt everytime. The Dubai floods was the equivalent of their 2 years worth of rain falling in less than 48 hours. No drainage can handle that. And after 2 days their govt deployed 30B USD to upgrade their system and repairs have started. What has our government done???!!!! We have to blame the govt in every bad thing that happens in Kenya
The flooding is due to the lack of storm water drainage on the roads. This is mandatory in any road construction projects. Cut corners and the results are catastrophic as you can see now.
South C substation, mugoya and Kenya water institution 15 years ago same problem guy's
Oh dear sorry about the floods
Thanks
So South Sea is this bad??
if i can give 5 likes i would, you braved the bad weather to show us how things are on the ground
I really appreciate 🙏🏾
The drainage in Kenya is SAD. Why hasn't the government spend money on sufficient drainage and dams. Barriers to stop the rivers from flooding.
🙏🙏🙏🙏👍🏼👍🏼♥️
The roads are also starting to show the effects of floods. Too many potholes
Show us how Kibera looks now please?
Noted
Wa kwanza hapa nipeni zangu likes
Am not affected yes! But movement has become very difficult
The rain is always a blessing but at this point its making everything worse and lives miserable.
How this is comparable to some floods events from the past ? What is the situation in other places downstream?
There is no simple, quick and cheap solution for a similar situation. As a long-term solution, building a few polders may help, but it requires a strong political will and funding, as it takes many years to design and build.
There is nothing in the past record that is comparable. There was heavy and continuous Rains in the 1960s but I cannot access the data to make a comparison. Then fewer people and open spaces ensured the impact was modest rather than catastrophic as it is today. Poor planning and a changing climate is a recipe for disaster.
Shida ya kuleta Madhabahu za nchi za Nje xikuje Kenya,,, I have never witnessed such Since Birth....
This looks like a More of a Plaque
Please don’t mislead the public. South C starts at the mosque. That junction of Muhoho Avenue and Mai Mahiu Road is in Nairobi West, not South C.
Potato, Potahto!
Please stop being so petty.
Just make your point of correction without accusing her of misleading people.
There is no malice in this video.
@Dolphine 254 Thank you for the video!
Ya clothes haiyaa kibera also
I thot🙏🏾
Wetlands were tampered with. They act as a sponge. They would at least reduce the severity of the floods we are experiencing in East Africa. Mambo Bado.
Kuwait following.sio Nairobi pekee.gulf iko hivo tu...saudia na dubz.
That's exactly my point in the hot debate in line with my comment.
I don't support seeing anyone vulnerable without basic needs like shelter food and clothing.
This is a worldwide disaster just like Covid-19.
Anyway, what's the best thing people should do? I applaud @Dolphine for this far reaching information.
But people are using it poorly to quench their political inclinations. So sad,
We can blame the government, but before then, should we watch children starving, men and women hungry because the government hasn't acted promptly? We become too mean to help out.
But i believe in all these, God is communicating! We have come to a point whereby we dont believe in God anymore! I was in this city and have lived there and preached the gospel on streets and buses. Many have deviated from the truth and many churches are walking in falsehood. We must acknowledge that there is a God in heaven even when we build cities. Mind you these cities will be destroyed with brimstone fire at the end of days!! You lady taking the video have you accepted the Lord Jesus into your life? Thankyou
Niwakati wa noa Ali maliza inchi na mvua

At this gate of kenya water ....hapo ndo hukua mambo

It's a short time people was commenting about dubai flooding. And talking lots of words. Now it's our country. Like ecclesiastical says that in the end of everything's and all things fear the Lord God
Hi pls take care do not put yourselves into a deep water so that you may not swipet you away by the floods
