Dear Team LNN, We deeply send our heartfelt sympathies to anyone deeply affected by the flash floods. For this particular story, you can coordinate with 0712556881 Demtila Wairimu ( Area Respondent ) for any donations
Consider investigating whether the flooding we are seeing in Nairobi is a result of the current county Government allowing the reconstruction of buildings on riparian land that were demolished by the previous county Government. For example, at the arboretum. Riparian land is land on the natural flow path of water when it rains. Riparian land is documented by Civil Engineers, surveyors, etc. When buildings are built in riparian land, the natural flow of streams, rivers, etc is blocked. Thus, when it rains, the type of flooding we are seeing may be a direct consequence of blocking the natural flow path of the streams, rivers, etc. Thus, Kenyans in Nairobi may be suffering the consequences of the county Government ignoring the advice of people trained to determine what land should not be built upon. The fix, of course, is to do what the previous county Government did. Demolish all buildings that have been put up on riparian, remove the debris and then clear a path for the natural flow of water when it rains.

Nairobi has always been flooding even before sakaja. I dont think changing some things is that easy when you are governor. It needs many people not just one hand. Nbi has so many problems that cant b solved all at ago. We have cartels too and sabotage. Pesa za disaster ni kama zilikulwa. Watu wahame from riparian land but govt iwaonyeshe pa kuhamia na iwape food and security
Why do we always go for the governor yet the MCAs are perhaps the most powerful actors in this whole debate? MCAs pass the budgets and allocate resources. We have even heard of stories where they blackmail governors to do what they want else they would be impeached. As Kenyans, we have been conditioned not to expect any tangible deliverables from these MCAs. It is because we fail to hold them to account that we find our streets are not clean, no street lights, our urban areas becoming chaotic etc. The day we start demanding tangible results from MCAs is the day things will start witnessing positive change.

I think sakaja thought this nairobi governor office is a kindergarten playground he gets there, and he has no idea what to do. So since we are here, can he just go home. Let nairobi people get a serious person who understands the assignment.
Sakaja is nobody's father. He's hurtling just like everyone. Did he make rain? Is he God? Which part of the constitution says he should be in charge of floods. That's dissaster management's responsibilities not governor's. Before we point hands, what are you doing as a person to help? Who have you helped? Always blaming others and doing nothing. BURE KABISA

Yes floods are everywhere but at the moment he should have just provide some help, like food medication and a place to shelter even if it's a school.b4
Kenyans for kenyans government it's just silent watching people dying of heavy rains 🌧️
Kenya government ni mungu aki mwachekesha
Sisi kwa sisi indeed 😢
@@AwesomeExperiencez definitely
May God comfort these families.
Lynn unafanya kazi mzuri sana 💯 keep soaring
The funny thing is that they will vote them back
True, wajigawaliuawa
Exactly and re-live the same cycle.
Yep..they will still vote for him.

Sometimes i cry because of my problems. I have been jobless for quite sometime. But when i come across such a video, i whipe my tears that i have been shedding because of my situation, then i start crying fresh tears for the people in this situation. At least i have a "good" place to sleep. Dear Lord, have mercy on them
The President is in Zimbabwe. A Christian President what a joke!!!
I think sakaja thought this nairobi governor office is a kindergarten playground he gets there, and he has no idea what to do. So since we are here, can he just go home. Let nairobi people get a serious person who understands the assignment.
It's the whole administration from top,Ruto all the way, clueless gorvement!
BURE KABISA
Wairimu has spoken alot of sense 💪

Disaster management fund should help these needy Kenyans. May the Lord bless those who have reached others in these times of need.
Sakaja has already spent that money, with his counterparts
And now that the effects climate change are no longer a myth! , There also should be a special disaster preparedness department. As a country we need to be more proactive and less reactive.
I personally hold a degree in disaster preparedness and environmental technology from Masinde University. We have skills that can help to prepare and mitigate these disasters. But there are no jobs for the trained professionals! So sad!
@@wainainarita6759 Let them give you the job. All the best.
Kenyans asking what can sakaja do he dint bring the floods is soo unfortunate, one he could organise a relocation centre, temporary shelter,he could organise for medication ,blankets, food, or even a place to set up tents, Red cross I think the list of things the Gorvener of Nairobi should be doing are endless. The problem with us we vote this people and go home to sleep and they also go to sleep only to come back after five years with more lies for us to vote them in again

Sakaja was doing a show off ,walking like jesus in water.....😅😅😅😅 nothing else he has done.... shually
It's high time kenyans realize it's them and only them to help themselves, the problem we have is depending on politicians..no lasting amount of help a politician can give to over 30,000 affected households,be it food or shelter,it's just for a day or two....let's wake up kenyans,i really pity those who have their rural areas up with huge chunks of land for agriculture but kuenda kuteseka tao in the name of hawawezi kaa ushago😢yet wanateseka nairobi ata kuliko venye angeteseka ushago..it's your life and not someone else's..if you thought grass would be greener in nairobi and have tried for 10+yrs in the mabati houses yet no change, kindly if you have ushago go back and restructure yourself, lima ata kama unaishi nyumba ya udongo, ile time utajiskia fiti kidogo kurudi tao get a deceny house atleast😢for those who don't have where to go just continue pushing,it's you vs you,we'll continue to pray for those affected bt rem politicians won't help you
Mr dimples, just sending rescue vehicles to do nothing 😢hayo magari sijui hata yanakam kuzima moto ama
Even if it would be another governor ...the situation would still be the same...this is a national disaster.. let's help neighbors where possible and stop throwing stones at others
Very true.Kenyans we just like to look for who to blame for everything, floods are happening even in developed countries.
Kwani, our constitution does not allow nairobians to vote him out ??? Coz i think it's time he goes home. It's sad to see all these people out in the cold and all the risks they are facing ??
This is nature..it's beyond sakaja....ata Dubai sio something different na hii....anyway he should be trying to do something at least
He should at least know emergency response. Not an excuse.
Since schools have offered to host this people...the least this governor could do is come to the ground, give psychological support, give food na mattresses and small blankets...vitu tu basic..I'm sure that's not too much to ask to ask from him
Do You know Eric , he saved many peoples , the same day niliona sakaja na smile akisalimia watu

@Lynn, it's a high time Kenyans face the music for their 2022 choices.they did spread the bed of bad governance and they must lay on it.up untill Kenyans wake up and say no is no to bad leadership and elect leaders who aren't corrupt and they have their best interest for this country and it's citizens.thats the time we will stop complaining and things will be done as required.

For your information, Nairobi city has a proper drainage system but most of it has been clogged up by the same Nairobians who throw litter carelessly.... Also, the Governor has tried all he can truly speaking, he also requires the support of the national government. The Nairobi issue is more of a collective responsibility..
