I feel like they're too different to be compared. The Galaxy games are level based, depending on how many stars you have. In Odyssey, you can explore all over the kingdom, doing what you want, when you want. They're really different, except for the 3D part

I love Super Mario Galaxy, it is my favorite game ever!! I was maybe 7 years old when I first got Super Mario Galaxy 2 and then later on I got the first one! Super Mario Galaxy is truly a masterpiece. The adventure, the beauty, I even love to just listen to the beautiful music some galaxies have! This game helped me a lot in Elementry since I had no friends and the whole grade was bullying me really badly. It was a way to just forget about all my troubles and worries and have a adventure that would normally be impossible of course (XD). But thanks to my Wii and Super Mario Galaxy, I had a adventure I would never forget! There is not a single rip off Mario Galaxy game that could ever compete with Super Mario Galaxy!!! I even prefer Super Mario Galaxy over Super Mario Odyessy, which was a pretty short game in my opinion with not many things especially beautiful or amazing, though it was still really fun to play!
