"We don't have a Drug problem in America, we have a disconnect problem. We punish people, isolate and shame them for using drugs or being an addict, which in turn causes a tragic, vicious cycle. Reconnect them to society, don't disconnect them"- Bradley Parker
That's a great quote 👍 thanks for that one buddy

I love that John was defending Paul even when they were on the verge of breaking up
I think John loved Paul more than anyone. They were a kindred spirit. I’m glad they had a chance to make up before John died
John was always protective of Paul. I saw an interview with Alice Cooper who used to party with Lennon. He said that Lennon could say bad things about Paul, but if anyone else did, he´d punch them in the face.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Paul died in 1966. One year before William made the statement about the responsibility for spreading the word about LSD.
@@NaaHva dude don’t alright
I'm not a fan of drugs, but Lennon has a good point, a really good point.
Do actual research. Anyone who says they are "not a fan of drugs" have either never taken drugs or misused the ones they have taken. Psychedelics can open your mind in incomprehensible ways. Its people like you who are too dumb or too scared to use them correctly and end up having bad experiences on them.
@@jimmcnicholas9670 You're right, I'm too scared to do drugs because I don't want to ruin my life.
@@internetperson8638 depends what drugs you're talking about. If its alcohol, heroin, crack, cocaine, meth or even caffeine dependency then duh they will obviously ruin your life because they are highly addictive. If its DMT, LSD, mushrooms, mescaline or any other psychedelic, that aren't addictive that's where you're wrong. Taken with the utmost care, not on a whim and with the proper research they can change a persons life for the better in ways you normies can't even imagine in your wildest dreams. But thats ok, continue living your normie life till you grow old and die. Plenty of people have sadly done it before you and plenty of people will do it in the future.
@@jimmcnicholas9670 It’s their body. If they don’t want to do drugs that should be respected. Some people like it, some don’t
@@strawberrycola1994 It's not a matter of liking it or not. Psychedelics and humans have been intertwined since the beginning of human existence and to not even try them is a tragedy in itself.
I grew up in the 60s and I never took drugs because of The Beatles.
I grew up in the 90s/2000s and I took drugs because of The Beatles haha
You acting like drugs are bad. None of them are bad. They all have there value for medical and recreational. Just like meth we prescribe already to people with adhd. The problem is most people are uneducated on drugs. Cause of society on how we look at them. Just like john lennon was basically saying
Lennon was a really bright talented guy I miss having him around.. I did not agree with everything he said and did but I respected him
One of the most intelligent people in history

This is what Paul said
paul said : that was a silly thing to say that on tV
@@benpietrzykowski9216And the good thing is, it's the real Paul who said it.
this is so refreshing
It's not what you're on,but why. Avoided the drugs until 3/79. Saw what was happening to my fellow classmates, friends and celebrities. Said No thanks. Many reasons why I broke down my resistance and said Yes. 15 years on the fast lane. Am clean and sober now. Am convinced that most of humanity is addicted to something. Agree with him
I took the LSd...then i start see things as they are...best experience in my live...but is not for everyone...
John was a great human being.
this comment section is full of nothing but poor taste. "jOhN iNfLuENcEd A BunCh Of KiDs to TakE dRugS so He's ReaLly IrreSponSible HerE" literally no though? his point is incredibly valid considering everyone is their own person and has the ability to make their own decisions without outside influence. lennon was a culture icon, that's what he's remembered by. not someone who "was a bad influence because he took lsd a couple times". grow up!
Drop out, Turn on, Tune in
Right on, John.
You can tell John is venting some past frustrations (back in ‘65) with how the public turned his “popular than Jesus” comment against him.
That error made by the tabloids are partially responsible for his own death. RIP John.
John was actually busted for hash, which was ridiculous.
So blessed to be young and live in Canada
He is still missed. Left was way too early.......

What a truly profound artist John Lennon was.
If I could get my hands on some LSD right now..
Hey, hell yeah, it's around, mane. Let it find you, or turn to the net, though mushrooms may be more available. It's going to be legal soon enough, mushrooms already being decriminalized and used in therapy, and AS therapy. In my life, I've run through the gamut of drugs, all types and all classes, and out of all of them, the only class I really recommend is psychedelics, you know. Responsible use of things like LSD, ayahuasca, magic mushrooms, and cannabis have had some seriously positive effects on myself and people I know, and tends to make one want to live their best life. As opposed to the escapism offered by alcohol or Xanax, it provides a look into oneself from a new and more honest perspective, able to call yourself on your own bullshit. Really, wonderful stuff.
@@movessmitt6427 they won't legalise it - the establishment have a financial interest in keeping people dumb

i hate that yoko are always interrupting john

nobody asked her in the first place. why does she feel the need to speak for John? it's ridiculous
L0REN0R2Z0RR0 nobody asked her in the first place. why does she feel the need to speak for John? it's ridiculous
@@phoenix-sun they're in an interview together. I bet you think all women should shut up when not spoken to don't ya?
For one yoko was BIG on girl power and femenism, before it was even cool,so much so that she inspired John to write the song woman, wich brings me to point 2. She's actually really smart and has interesting ideas, start watching more interviews with her,it's incredible the things she says and knows that John won't even mention. And 3. Their relationship is entirely different then I've ever seen, they almost complete eachothers thoughts what one doesn't say the other one doesn't fail to mention ,they take that old saying my other half to a whole new level, look at some of the music videos with these two,it's like they are attached to the hip. It's a love I've never seen or heard of. I almost feel bad for yoko as far as her opinions go, she's a brilliant artist and really was subject to the times and feeling like noone liked her enough to hear her opinions,or she probably would have talked more.

yeah johns right if nobdy told anyone or ask anyone no one whuld knwo
Yoko ono buggin
interesting !

The job of the media is to present the best obtainable version of the truth. Its not their job to filter comments that public may not like. This was Paul's attempt to shift the responsibility for the outcome over to the person documenting an event that had historical significance. This line of reasoning made the Beatles feel much better about the negative influence they may have had on the youth of the world due to their drug use.
Media or oral paparazzi?
Thanks for getting John into H, Yoko. I doubt he ever kicked it
Why is Yoko always speaking on behalf of Jhon?
Paul Dianne
Depois que se envolveu com essa zinha a vida dele desandou. Foi pro brejo. Viriu ate hippy.
how can you not love john and all the beatles? i had so many people tell me when john was murderd the first thing they thought of WAS ME! i turned a lot of people into the beatles. they owe me a royalty.
At the end: "no one knows he did drugs until they asked him." Sorry John, but we all knew
lots of people think they "know" lots of things that they can't know.
@@Studentofgosset People who do psychedelics have this 6th sense where they can tell if other people have done it. Its so strange
Yoko Kara
“No one knew until they asked” - that’s not true.
They (Beatles members) were doing drugs in group(s).
Besides, they also released drug-related songs.
Yngwie Johanna malmsteen
its not totally up to them kids get influenced so easily and you saying you do drugs in public they want to be like there idle and that's you john your bigger than a father image
So your solution is what? The media were the ones who put it out to the public. Lennon was only telling the truth when asked. He was not promoting drugs. The fact is lsd gave him inspiration and creativity. But it is not a toy, psychedelics must be handled with the utmost care and must not be taken on a whim. Do research.
Some punctuation would be nice. Are you on drugs?

This is from mid 69 just before he come off heroin funnily enough. Him and Yoko did it cold turkey a'la the song. He said they were to famous to go to a rehab facility so they kicked it at home. Although I've heard he was junked out at the Toronto gig just after he wrote "Cold Turkey" so the cure didn't seem last long unfortunately.
I’m curious to know if he ever truly quit heroin I feel like he might’ve but at the same time he was looking pretty sickly around the time he was murdered he looked old and gaunt
@@grungeisdead8998he was on a very healthy diet but also ate very little, he had no drugs in his system when he died.
Tell ‘em John. He’s the best.
*DON'T DO IT KIDS NO GOOD*
Shut up, man. I've run through the gamut of drugs, taken a lot of bad ones that are harmful or addictive, and I warn people all about that, but psychedelics are very good for the mind. The responsible use of drugs like LSD, magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, MDMA, ketamine and cannabis can be so beneficial to a person, it helps your mind by putting you on the right moral track and allowing for potent self-examination, making you want to live your best life, and be better to those around you. They help you almost "filter" your mind of your prejudices, bad ideas and thought patterns that you've become entrenched in, it kills negativity and depression...
Thanks captian obvious. "kIdS sHoUlDn'T dO dRuGs". Only responsible adults.
John and Paul were friends, even if they were warring behind the scenes. I agree with John; take drugs or don't, but it has nothing to do with John...or Paul.
