I don’t care if they have full voice acting in the game, but sounds and grunts like in Zelda would be nice. To just have a super loud “BLEP” as you pressed the button in Legends and nothing else was weird and it felt like no one had a personality.
I was originally thinking about getting Scarlet, but now that I see that the legendary's 'wheels' are only cosmetic in Scarlet, but functional in Violet, I've changed my mind.
Welcome to team Violet.
I felt the same, I thought the scarlet one looked cooler when they were both revealed(mainly because I like reptiles and it's more reptile-like than the robotic one) but after seeing that it just ruins everywhere and the other one is literally a motorcycle I'm like uh... Should I switch? For now I'll stick to scarlet though.
absolutely same. every time i saw it i was just thinking, PUT YOUR WHEELS DOWN
I thought about switching from Scralet to Violet, but the professor locks it in
Why does he need wheels at all? I feel like the Violet one should have wheels and other shouldn't
The new crystal forms might look silly but it’s not as simple as everyone seems to think here. You aren’t guaranteed to have a Pokémon change into the same forms. Like I could have a Persian that goes fire and yours could go water. It’s not just Eevee, if you pay attention to the raid, it states that a tera type is dependent on each specific Pokémon. So it makes battles a lot more unpredictable since you can’t have a set strategy if the Pokémon can change to other types
Because the raids mentioned that is how you get Pokémon with rare tera types, so whenever you raid with friends you can get Pokémon with those rare types to make battles super interesting
It's so funny because I'm the complete opposite of everyone. I would consider my real life style to be tacky and excessive so the jeweled Pokemon looked great to me! The thing I hate is the gimmick/mechanic itself lol. I wish we could just go back to mega evolution and maybe even z-moves.
@@pa5666 Maybe you get "Z Moves"?
If the teratypes aren't replacing one if your types but are added onto you (and we know since XY that they aren't totally against it) you could get double STAB...
@@pa5666 fair lol. I like the mechanic as it really does give some genuine change to the meta instead of all the previous mechanics that just made super stats and didn’t change up genuine builds. But that diversity of play styles will likely leave behind those who enjoy the simpler gameplay so I can certainly understand why you might not like it gameplay wise if you really like the way battles always have been. I personally find myself more in the camp of wanting them to have more going on, as I find them boring tbh and I’m glad there’s more unpredictable aspects now due to tera types
Yea I think Tera types depend on the nature
So I'm HEAVILY into Café Remix, literally play it all the time, yesterday I took a whole day off from Xenoblade 3 to do the new stuff
I was also obsessively into Pokémon Shuffle on 3DS
Like, Shuffle and Café Remix are probably my most played games on 3DS and Switch respectively
That being said, I was not remotely excited by or invested in the Café Remix part of the Presents, because the Mewtwo thing had already started by the time the Presents kicked off, so I was already deep into playing the thing they were announcing lmao
It does feel like a lot of the mobile stuff could be twitter announcements and stuff. Unite I can understand being there- it's got a pretty decent following and it is at the world championships so they do care about it, but some of it feels like they needed stuff to fit the runtime. Like, with all the shadowdrops Nintendo has been doing, you don't need to set up a massive presentation in order to show off if you don't have much to show (as much as I love Directs, if you don't have anything to show there's really no point putting one together). Like TPC. Level with me for a sec, you could either do a mobile only presentation or video so that your presentations don't become stale or just leave stuff like cafe mix out of it. I like cafe mix but I don't think it deserves time at a big presentation. Masters is a bit "kinda maybe if you need time" but the amount of times I keep forgetting it exists can attest to that.
Anyways, SV look pretty cool, the gimmick looks goofy but it does look like they actually have a decent reason (and i can imagine it getting really interesting if these things are decided randomly like IVs and what have you). I love a lot of the new designs for the pokemon and trainers in SV (which to be fair is something they are VERY good at).
Hoping for Kalos DLC but knows it's probably not happening.
Hey men, I have this same sentiments I responded on my own comment. I do not have problems with other games. Pokemon still pokemon. Poke legends deserve more. Agree with you that pokemon direct should have at least a bigger update. Not just a 6 y old game that will be just charging players 15$ for playing the same content (tapping screens).
Looks some of us should not expect a good story for the main series. They'll just slapping any thing to satisfy and produce a new game For switch. They are now focused more on mobile game version of pokemon.
As a big Unite player, most of that had already been revealed.
The Pika mode was the only new announcement and that was found by dataminers weeks ago
@@peacorptv6502 I played poke unite. I am a fan of MOBA games in mobile but I am not convinced playing pokemon in this genre. Too cute to have these kinda of battle. Hehe
That's the thing. I was expecting "a new game mode" for poke unite that will offer new content.
Having a legendary early is cool because it not only mixes things up, but they might not be very strong. Let me explain. Too many legendary Pokémon have crazy strong stats and I think the competitive scene would benefit from having more legendary Pokémon that don't necessarily push the envelope.
I dont think you'll be able to use them in battle until later in the game. Hence why they showed them transforming at the end, most likely you'll have to beat the main story to make them transform and use them in battle.
Honestly I hate the idea of getting a full legendary at the beginning. It makes them feel way less special especially when you see two of each in the multilayer.
@@lewisbaldwin9683 I felt the same way at first, but I do think it's an interesting way to mix the story up. Ash seems to have amazing luck with the legendaries so I think it's our turn to have a little action LOL
That's why they're legendary....
@@lewisbaldwin9683 Maybe the "real" legend of the games/story lives in that large vortex area in the middle of the map. Like the third legend of the trio or something.
Not sure I really agree here. It seems there are audiences for all of their games, so even if you’re not into him, many others are. And why wouldn’t the Pokémon company present all their games together? Just makes sense to keep it all together
Thank you!
It annoys me that people have forgotten that we've regressed back into non-physical, physical attacks with the animations. What happened to Legends animations?
It's Pokémon! 2 steps forwards and 9 backwards plus a migrane
Legends had less moves
They were never planned to be in this game. SV is an evolution of SwSh, not PLA.
Also, I think it would be weird in the raid battles if every pokemon there bombard the raid boss with physical attacks. It will be too crowded at times.
My wife was excited about the Pokemon Unite stuff because she plays that game and my daughter plays the Cafe game so she was very happy about it being in the video too. I was there for the Scarlet and Violet news because I only play the main series games but I get that Pokemon is for a lot of different people.
The tease with Pokemon Masters is that Ash and Red are going to come face to face for the first time in any capacity. Not just in Pokemon Masters.
Man, I felt destroyed at the Pokemon Masters EX segment. I was expecting more news about the anniversary and all we got was another teaser to a feature that's been teased for over half a year now.
I really thought it was let’s go Johto
Same. I was mostly hyped to see what they'd show us about the coming anni units and it didn't deliver
@@Linkfin I appreciated the bait on that infamous rumor in the video. I really hated Let's Go and am not on board with the idea of another Let's Go.
Been playing since alpha and it's fan base (game wise) isn't as big as GO or Unite so makes sense they wouldn't focus to hard on it when UNITE alone is making them fuhk tons of money
@@TheMrSkitzo Well, when you get the same people who made Call of Duty Mobile, I think it's expected that you're going to make a ludicrous amount of money regardless of how stingy they are.
Are people not realizing connections between Spain, stained glasses windows, and the new Pokemon transformation gimmick…?
Also, lol @ the way they’re overdramatizing their “dread” at the new transformations. I was so confused because …it’s literally just fine
Is NintendoLife turning into Arlo?
I get it
Can’t believe they showed Pokémon news in a Pokémon presents 🙄
Even Arlo have dialed back his whining in pokemon games.
The question on everyone's mind: will Mewtwo be voiced by Gordon Ramsey in Pokémon Café Mix?
Hey, don't talk bad about Cetitan, I freakin' love my walking ice whale boi. I feel like you guys are being overly negative here. Yes, nobody cares about the mobile game garbage but the S&V stuff is fantastic! While I really don't like the crowns for Terastalizing, you guys are massively overlooking the important part: you can change a Pokemon's type! The game looks beautiful compared to past games, is it perfect? No but it looks great and they are making so many QoL improvements that you guys are also overlooking. Btw, they DID briefly discuss the other 2 main questlines, OF COURSE they're not going to go into detail on those because it would utterly spoil them. Overall I like what I saw for S&V but I definitely wish we saw more given how much of a media drought there's been. On the plus side, this trailer definitely confirmed a ton of the leaks which is very exciting considering what all was leaked.
We get a Land Narwhal Pokémon.
It's obvious they torture themselves to play only the first hour of every Pokémon game because it's apart of their job to play and talk about Nintendo games.
I don't know that I love the design, but the name is amazing. Almost sounds like a legendary lol.
The game is not beautiful? It’s framey with shit textures and graphics.
Just looked up the Paldean Wooper from the official Pokemon site and Whooper will be Poison/Ground. Also Fidough (fairy btw) has the CUTEIST description: Fidough’s moist, smooth skin has elastic qualities and is both firm and soft at the same time. When these Pokémon become excited, they intimidate their opponents by puffing up their bodies to appear bigger.
I never see choosing the order of gym has something we needed, there’s nothing wrong about fighting them in a set order.
When Mewtwo was added to Pokémon Cafe Remix
I understood the purpose of life
I think I'm just done with mainline Pokemon at this point. The series has an identity crisis: it is trying to be both a single player RPG and a competitive multiplayer game and ultimately delivers a sub-par experience for both.
The Pokemon battle system feels very good in PvP battles. There are lots of mind games, interesting strategies, and Pokemon builds. And both the single and double battle metas offer something interesting. However the biggest problem with PvP in Pokemon is the barrier to entry. To compete on an even playing field with everyone else, you need to grind an ungodly amount of time to get perfect IVs, EV, natures, abilities, and moves. And the grind isn't fun at all. It involves doing boring crap like riding your bike back and forth to hatch eggs or playing tedious Max Raid Battles. Because of this, it's an open secret that most competitive players don't actually grind--they just hack the perfect Pokemon into the game so they can get straight to the fun part. Naturally this puts players that follow the rules at a severe disadvantage.
On the single player front, the game never presents you with a real challenge. Trainers you fight almost never use a full team of 6 and they don't even know how to switch Pokemon. Watch any competitive Pokemon singles battle and you will see players switching all the time. The fact that the AI can't switch Pokemon severely cripples it. Wild battle are just a joke because any 1 random wild Pokemon will literally never beat your full team of 6 unless you are an absolute beginner. Because of this, the Pokemon single player experience has always felt like "baby's first RPG". The only challenging content comes from the end game battle facilities where you are put under the same constraints that you would have for a multiplayer battle (all level 50, same number of Pokemon each (usually 3), no items). But the journey there just feels like a boring waste of time.
I think these two play styles (single player vs. multiplayer) would be better served by two different games. Give us a competitive battle sim game with the classic battle system and let us configure things like IVs, EVs, nature, ability, moves, hold item, etc... with a simple menu. Then just let us fight online, or engage with Battle Frontier-style single player content. Then give us an ambitious single player RPG with a completely new battle system. Would be awesome if we could fight battles with a team of 4 against large groups of enemies like in a normal RPG. And for the story, give us something completely devoid of boring tropes like 10 year olds leaving home to go on an adventure, gyms, professors giving you a Pokedex, rivals, evil teams, box legendaries, etc... Pokemon Colosseum is an example of what you could do story-wise that would be totally different from the boiler plate mainline template.
If mainline Pokemon did something like that, I could get interested again, but for now, I'm done with it.
I'm here on behalf of the whale pokemon Cetitan - that is in fact - a whale. I don't recall Pokemon needing to be the most obvious type for it to be justified. (i.e. Krookedile family being crocodiles that live in sand instead of water; Magcargo family being fire instead of bug, gliscor family being ground flying instead of poison or bug)
The fact that there's actually a discussion in here about the style of a pokemon game- I'm just happy that the Pokemon company is experimenting just a LITTLE bit. I'm honestly loving the art style and think it looks really good on everyone except for the player characters haha. (though honestly i like them better than i did in the first trailer)
Red was not the reveal in pokemon masters ex. It's the potential battle of Red and Ash. The silhouette shown was likely Ash facing Red.
Alex really should’ve ended with “…then why don’t you crystalize [or whatever they called it] that subscribe button and see what it turns into”.
There was more fluff in this presentation than on a Wooloo. Every Pokémon Presents starts with the things no one cares about - Go, Unite, Cafe Mix and Masters EX - and then ends with the one and only thing everyone actually tuned in to see. In terms of Scarlet and Violet, the main criticisms are the same things we've been criticizing TPCI and Game Freak for years -- no voice acting, lag/fps drops, subpar graphics and gimmicky mechanics.
I would argue Terastallizing is more in line with Megas because it changes the Pokémon's type and lasts the entire battle, instead of only 3 turns like Dynamax, but the crystallization effect looks awful and out of place. Also, when it comes to TPCI, it's the things they don't mention in the trailers that you have to pay attention to. Are TMs going to be single-use again? Can we get multi-battles back in the battle tower, or at least have ranked multis? Are the co-op areas limited to specific places within the game, or can you connect online with 3 others no matter what route/city/cave you're in? How long before it'll work with Pokémon Home? And the most important question of all -- How many Pokémon are coded into the game? Sword/Shield started with 400, then ended with 600 after the expansion pass was fully finished. If there are less than that in Scarlet/Violet, then that's just pure incompetence, because between Let's Go, Sword/Shield, Legends and Diamond/Pearl, there should be at least over 700 fully coded and rendered in their 3D engine. ~Scott
I just hope that the multiplayer in SV isn’t gonna be like LGPE’s local multiplayer, since it just made an easy game even easier
Perhaps, but the content of the announcements themselves aren't predictable. And when they reveal a new mainline title, of course that's not predictable either. Regardless, I loved this discussion guys! Thank you once again, I always love your discussions so much as they provide me great comfort :)
I enjoyed it. Though the only problem that I see with Pokemon Presents is that they barely scratched the surface with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While it's nice that we got some news for these titles (and I like the Mewtwo being a server in Pokemon Café Remix. It's nice that every once in a while I see serious pokemon like Mewtwo look happy), they barely even announced stuff (aside from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and maybe Pokemon Café Remix and Pokemon GO) that made me excited. Would be nice to have some Pokemon Legends Arceus DLC where they expand on that game and giving us more stuff and story that we can do. But alas, it's an okay Pokemon Presents. Could be much better, but not the worst tho.
Animal Crossing voice noises would work really well for Pokemon, I feel. I hate the emptiness of the silence, and those weird sounds add a surprising amount of personality.
I think scarlet and violet look like a ton of fun, can’t wait to play them
with that bit climbing the mountain to meet Red, i literally thought "Oh my god? Gold and silver remakes?"
but my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
"No voice acting in Pokemon! I am boycotting it!" X(
Seriously, why are so anal? I have come to accept that Pokemon games won't have voice acting as it'd cost Game Freak money that would shut down their spin-offs like Cafe Mix, and while everyone hates Cafe Mix and Pokemon Unite, I think that this franchise is being adventurous and accessible to people who think the main games suck by introducing the Pokemon in new formats. Why do RPGs these days have to be voice acted? I would boycott Pokemon if it DID have voice acting!
So long as I can turn it off... Seriously why does everyone WANT voice acting??
Honestly Pokemon Scarlet and Violet actually look like everything i want from mainline Pokemon, I just hope GameFreak can stick the landing
They haven't landed anything since pokemon black 2 so I'm really worried about this. It can look amazing but I'm still expecting an accident.
Me too my friend, me too :)
@@ICharlyl Wholeheartedly agreed. I think Gen 6 hit the landing really - XY and ORAS were fantastic games in my opinion. I thought Sun and Moon were beautiful and well told stories. As for everything after that, well aside from Legends, I think GameFreak has produced nothing but garbage.

I personally can’t wait to here the OST. Toby mf Fox is doing it and I already know they’re gonna slap
Man, every person I've watched react to this presentation so far has already spoiled everything for themselves by looking at all the leaks. I guess I don't really get the point of looking at leaks for everything that's going to be in a game/direct then trying to react to presentations that are showcasing stuff you've already been spoiled on by reading leaks. Really kills the reaction because it's all just "Yup, knew about that. Uh huh, saw that in the leak. Guess that's the gimmick the leak was talking about".
To be fair for news journalists such as Nintendo Life knowing all the leaks is literally part of their job.
the gyms battles in any order is great but before they said they rnt going to scale which makes doing them in any order pointless
I bet the 3 main quests will be:
* The 8 gyms
* The evil team
* Something with your main legendary pokemon
Do the battles take place dynamically in the open world like arceus or is there a separately-loaded battle background?
The mechanics are interesting and don't need a football stadium, but the crowns could be smaller. That alone annoys me.
Are the two other storylines not just going to be “catch all the Pokémon” and “defeat the team of criminals threatening the region”?
Don't forget the "beating your rival/rivals" storyline
@@santiagoacosta3372 I think that's part of the gym battle story.
You know, I wouldn't doubt if the gym story line is the only well developed one.
Gameplay wise, gen 9 is pretty cool, especially with the open world gyms and the online multiplayer, really cool stuff but MAN the graphics, I get they aren't everything but it gets to a point where it really starts to affect the quality of the product and it just looks ROUGH. Now there are some pretty looking places in the game like the towns, those look great! What I really have a problem with is the wilderness (I hope that's the right word). Everything they showed off that wasn't a town looked weird at best and distractingly awful at worst. Reminder, this game is on the same console as Botw, Smash Ultimate and Odyssey. Pokemon can do better and I really want it to. For now I'm gonna stay cautiously optimistic. I just want something good man.
the switch is a very very underpowered console, we wont be getting the beautiful game of the year pokemon until it is off the switch. plus they keep rushing these out for christmas legitimately every time

Alright Alex, or just you guys in general, you’re cynics. I also don’t care for mobile game updates but believe it or not a lot of people do and that’s why they show it here. Just because you don't hear about the crowds playing the games that doesn't mean they don't exist lol
6:59 the red one has wheels but is running with its legs anyways
Can you have someone on the team that actually plays and enjoys Pokémon games?
I was really intrigued by the new crystal Pokemon and raid battles coming back
I'm excited to learn more about the games
Terastalising also doesn't change the moves at all, so it makes it easier to work in from a tactical point. It also keeps opponents on edge, because there's nothing to show the Tera-type of a Pokemon, so you don't know what type the Pokémon will turn into until it actually happens. That I think is actually pretty good, and quite frankly, if we have to make do with a more generic visual that all Pokémon get, so be it.
Also of note, the effect kinda reminds me of the fake shiny Pokémon cards you used to be able to find (often from, of all places, SPAIN!), which had that kind of crystal pattern all over it. To me, that's interesting.
I've had least tried out every single game in the Presents. I still play Pokémon Go a lot and I know a lot of people who play Pokémon Unite. Pokémon Masters isn't as popular as those two, but I do know a few people who play it. I only know like one person who plays Cafe Remix though. The problem is that the Pokémon Presents are aimed at people who are VERY hard-core Pokémon fans which is probably only a quarter of the people tuning in.
Everything up until Pokemon Scarlet & Violet were legit to me the most obvious stuff, but man that SV trailer was perfect. Exactly what we needed before the release date and I am all for it. Glad to see Pokemon on a good route this time and I just cannot wait.

If I’m being honest, all the coolest parts about the new games were revealed in the previous trailers, so I didn’t really feel all too hyped yesterday either. I mean riding the legendaries is cool but that’s basically the only new information we got beyond characters. All the new details on Pokémon models have been evident for a while, they have been saying it’s open world, so most of the coolest stuff just isn’t really from this new trailer
Yeah it feels like the pokemon company has abandoned all their creative crossover titles, and are instead focusing on making more free to play content to promote micro transaction sales.

What do you mean by "creative crossover titles"? I know Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Conquest are crossovers, but...
@@NitroIndigo Yeah Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Ranger, Conquest, Colosseum, trozei, rumble, and pokken tournament come to mind, but it is more about the pokemon company making similar side games outside of their usual developers that don’t operate on the free to play, micro transactional model of mobile titles.
New Pokemon Snap was the last game that met this criteria, and there was the pokemon mystery dungeon reboot a few years prior to that, but otherwise these sort of games have otherwise disappeared from being much of an interest to the pokemon company nowadays.
I play Pokemon Unite, I really like it. I play it on switch. I been doing ranked and it's a pretty good MOBA all thing considered. It's more new player friendly than a game like League of Legends.
It's frustrating that it feels like I'm being set up to just expect mainline Pokemon games to look as muddy and unpolished as they do. TPC is a billion-dollar company and they're out here making PS3 games from 2008. I'm sure it's going to be fun, and my partner and I are going to have a good time with ScarVi, but is it too much to ask for a Switch game made in this decade from TPC?
If ppl keep buying it, there's no incentive to try harder.

SAME. Ill never understand their desire to try to make every pokemon usable/good😅 Id rather have some megas any day imo.
and what about cafe remix and master ex being there? why are you getting so mad, do you expect everything to be for you like sheeesh some people
I'm very interested in the plot for Scarlet/Violet. You're enrolling at a school and get to take classes. That's a different narrative that what we get at the other mainline series. You know, they've always been; Start as a kid living with your mum (No dad, only mum), you encounter the professor in one way or another and chose a starter, you travel a linear path through cities and fight in Gyms (Exception of S/M that has the Kahuna trials in its stead) until you get to an elite 4 or something like it. They tended to be more unique in post game, but that general path usually stays the same. Now you're at school and get to travel the world at your own pace, choosing which gym to take on. I expect the school to be kinda like the research facility in Legends: Arceus. It's where you get missions with a few cutscenes. Yet it's still a unique take on the main Pokémon entries that I'm excited to play.
I agree the graphics look a bit muddy and sharp at places. However I feel like the reason Legends and S/V in particular don't get the same graphic treatment as say Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey is because of the insane amount of data a pokémon game has. Every time a wild pokémon is loaded in the world, it holds immense amount of data that the game has to look for. In the older games, those data weren't loaded until you start a battle, but now it loads as soon as a pokémon appear on screen. That data takes a lot of memory to locate. The Nintendo Switch isn't a vastly powerful system, it can only load so much before it gets overheated and start losing frames. It's better that they tone down on graphics in order to have a game that doesn't hiccup whenever an rng has to load imo.
Grow up please. :)

That being said, I personally don't think it look as bad as some people say. I like the new art style. Feel it adds more personality to the npcs rather than the dead faces in Sw/Sh. Legends had better expressions than Sw/Sh but still a bit deadfaced. The world is more populated by details and trees load without looking glitching in an out as we saw in the Arceus trailers. It's getting there and I don't think it look "Bad" just not as good as one would expect from one of the biggest franchises in the world.
Still waiting for Pokémon Sleep or Detective Pikachu on Switch
I keep forgetting about Pokemon Cafe Mix. When Mewtwo's stomach growled, I thought the legendary had to go to the bathroom fiercely.
Alex do you realize everything your worried about the Pokémon company does this every new game? They come out with trailer realeasing new info , pokemon, up till the release of the game. And your doubting it cause they didn’t tell u everything about the game 3 months before it’s released? I mean come on .. Mabey your not the best person to be covering a game you don’t even play
The thing about scarlet and violet is that weve seen very little actual gameplay. We see 'cinematic' stuff but we haven't seen how the encounters work or how the game looks with the ui or what you can do in multiplayer.
Pokémon presents have been predictable
The big thing for Masters is Ash meeting Red.
Masters has a very dedicated community so i think it has a right to be in those directs~ Not so much cafe mix...
Why did they need to put wheels on these Pokemon? What can these Pokemon do that actually requires wheels? You can run, swim, and climp with regular limbs. You can fly without wheels obviously, so... they just made the Pokemon dumber looking and non-sensical for no reason.
I think the presents was fine, cause all anyone really wanted to see was Scarlet Violet anyways. The other stuff were just nice little short updates on other things.
I think I prefer for them to not do a HUGE deep dive direct like they did with XBC3. Cause XBC# needed it since the general player base isn't as familiar, and Pokemon will get more consistent small updates as time goes. They like to slowly reveal things over time to build hype. And I generally prefer that with pokemon games at least. I loved what they did show of SV.
Also, I am a professional graphic designer... and I thought the type usage and general presentation was pretty bad too.
Moment when pokemon masters EX has voice acting for all the characters voiceless in the main games
The minute I saw the crystal Pokemon, my first thought was "Swarovski are gonna eat this up!" 🤣
What do you expect?? Digimon games in a Pokemon Presents??
you guys clearly dont like pokemon very much, mabe you should stop talking about it.
I wish they stuck with mega evolutions.
What's the song that plays at 3:09 of the video? It's really good!
The Battle Tower theme from Sword and Shield
@@Critical_HitZ Just found out Toby Fox wrote it, makes perfect sense
Wow I really disagree with your disappointment, honestly I think this is one of the best looking Pokemon games and it looks like it’s going to be one of the best Pokemon games too!
I like the crystal mechanic and I think it looks great, the style and the textures look good. No it’s not the greatest but for Pokemon it’s really good!
Also how is Cetitan not a whale? The heck are you looking at, it’s a whale/narwhals with arms and legs!
Everyone has the right to their opinion but really liked this Scarlet and Violet trailer and it’s reveals.
Also I don’t care about the other game but some people do so it’s fair enough the Pokemon company will give info on their other games!
Yeah, not thrilled about the giant crystal hats either. For as long as fans have been begging for crystal Onix, they might not be in the game and if they are, it'll be an Onix that gets shiny in certain conditions...wearing a large gaudy hat! Really hoping if Onix is present that they do something unique.
Everyone watched the Presents for the Scarlet and Violet. No one gave a damn about what came before it.
As far as the mobile games go, nearly everyone I know plays Pokemon Go at least occasionally, the only other one I know of anyone playing though was my partner played Pokemon Cafe Mix briefly after it came out. I also like Pokemon Quest but no one really talks about that one anymore.
A bunch of non Pokemon fans talking about how Pokémon disappointed them 🙄
So much whining. Just wow. Someone in there even complained about the text in the trailer. LoL 😂. And even if they are to do a Xenoblade style direct that will be around the time for the very last major trailer.
3 of the best Nintendo TH-camrs together!! GG
I'm hyped regardless of apparent shortcomings. My only nitpick is they could've used the type symbols in some fancy way instead of the crowns. I still like it tho.
At this point I’m not even sure if Pokémon fans know what they want
I have 2 friends that play Masters EX, 1 friend that plays Unite, and most of my friends play the mainline series. I sit by myself playing New Pokemon Snap and Mystery Dungeon
i can't make an excuse for pokemon games anymore after playing Xenoblade 3 and zelda botw. if they don't wanna hire monolith to make them an actual functional open world, i'm skipping this one too. the multiplayer is exclusive to the wild area again, so just more of the same.
Personally, gen 9 doesn't look that interesting so far. It's nice that they're finally letting people challenge gym leaders in whatever order, but that's not enough incentive to make me buy the game.
Not to mention that since I don't subscribe to Nintendo's online, and there's a big push for multiplayer on this game, I probably won't enjoy it as much.
I will only be surprised when Pokemon Trading Card Game video game is finally announced to come to the Switch in 2023. Pokemon TCG is long overdue to come to the five years old Switch.
Some of my best friends play Unite and have tried to get me to play it. They're also huge Pokemon fans in general (and, if I'm entirely honest, one of the only reasons I still pick up the new games).
This video is weird and not something that makes a lot of sense for pokemon fans. Like we know their is a place for all the games and many people are fans of many of them. Maybe yall should just watch the videos of the games that you care about after the presents is over.
Yeah but even if you are into all these mobile games, those are still miniscule updates for those titles. Does this really need a presentation?
@@Perplexum Even if they weren’t there, it’d just be an SV trailer. If you want that, you can just tune into the Presents when they are focusing on SV or just wait until it’s over. Why get upset over the Pokémon Company making a video focused on updates on all their current games?
@@Critical_HitZ I'm not, but I can I understand why the guys from Nintendo Life would be. If I had to wake up in an ungodly hour bc the TPC announced a presentation and then had do sit through this, I would be annoyed too.
I just hope/wish they’d have an abundance of new Pokémon to choose from on the 1st playthrough. I wish every new Gen would do as B/W 1 did (Gen 5). Nothing but new Pokémon until post-game.
The present means no nintendo direct this month... sept will be huge... well hopefully huge.. on another note i played a few gyms into sword then got burnt out... so idk if i should even buy more pokemon
I mean its pokemon of course its predictable I mean there is a dex, new pokemon, weird battle gimmick, regional variants that are just a slight color pallet change or slightly taller/hairier, not sure what you were hoping for. It was a really enjoyable pokemon presents. Wish the leakers would f off though would of made this even cooler.
delusional.
@@junix1995 no I just know what to expect from a Pokémon presentation. It's Pokémon not a Nintendo direct. If the games aren't important or exciting to you don't tune in. Just watched the trailers or read the facebook/Twitter pages for updates on the games you care about. It's not rocket science. Pokémon go social media unite social media and masters all post with detail what they are doing ok Twitter and Facebook. And trailers for games go up within 5 minutes of the live. So if you don't care about watching and learning more info about these games you can always watch what you care about later. If the explanations bore you and the presentations slides are boring to you then clearly you are not the target audience.
I love Nintendo Life reviews!
The Championship stuff felt like pure time filler. All of the app news could have been Twitter drops.
I'd disagree. I've seen so many people predicting so many different things, from new spin offs, old spin off remakes, to a new Legends game, to any actual information about the Switch version of Detective Pikachu that we still don't know if it's a sequel, port, or both together, and yet none of this came true.
Boring? Yes.
Predictable? No. Cause the fans are always expecting something greater, and the company never seems to deliver.
The problem is that they don't have to. Pokémon is bringing in billions just on what they have right now. Outside of Game Freak pumping out new games like its their job there's not much that NEEDS to be done.
Yeah but those predictions are all far flung lmao. What everyone with normal understanding of how these works predicted was 10 mins of mobile games and 10 mins of new mainline games and wow somehow they knew it would happen. Almost like it’s happened 5 times before basically lmao
I'm loving how little we're being shown in terms of new Pokémon.
Hopefully it means there's a lot to discover and not that there's not many....
I think they also are saving some more impressive ones for the final trailer right before the game releases to really push up hype.
Agreed. One of my favorite parts of SwSh was discovering all the new Pokémon. I still remember seeing Rose show off Cufant in the intro and being like “what’s that?!?!”
@@AlexDayz Yeah, plus I love how in sw/sh the daycare people just gave you a free egg and you'd have no idea what it would be until you hatch it. It's such a brilliant way to introduce new pokemon!
Mega evolution also gave an additional type and it looked much cooler. Don’t really care for the Crystal mechanic at all.
