Hey Peter and Yen, I started watching your videos on Morrocco and Greece and ended up down a big rabbit hole they were all so interesting! I had to laugh when you said Yen gets motion sickness playing video games. I also get this and everyone laughs at me! So anyway, was wondering if you've found anything particularly helpful for you Yen? I really enjoy travelling and plan to go to Europe next year but yes, also get very motion sick . Thank you :)

You've stumbled onto one of our much older videos here 😂 ahh fellow motion sickness buddy.. you know the struggle 😅 but yea I found for me as long as I have good sleep the night before travel, a decent breakfast so stomach isn't hungry beforehand too and also "sea leg" pills (I just get them from local pharmacy or supermarkets sometimes stock them), it usually does the trick 😅🤞🤞 good luck and happy travels to Europe next year! Where are you headed to? 🙂

@@PeterandYen South Korea was such a contrast between ancient and modern. I loved the food like galbi, gamjatang, dol sot bi bim bap, dalkgalbi and super stinky tofu dish cheong guk jang (dead body soup). Korean obsession with convenience, quirkiness and the culture was a real pleasure. Seoul, the DMZ, Busan and Jeju popular destinations, but I spent most of my time in Gangwon province, the largest, least populated and poorest part of South Korea. The hot weather in Oman was fantastic. Omanis are so chilled out. The snorkeling was the best I'd ever experienced just the fish. The rugged mountains, waterways ancient forts and sea are stunning. I loved Omani shuwa, slow cooked lamb or goat with rice, all subtly infused with spices like saffron. Don't expect much hot spicy food unless you eat from South Asian restaurants where Omanis don't go.

@@PeterandYen my pleasure. Yes, dol sot bi bim bap is delicious. I never went to Japan sadly. My wife and others have been and noted that Korea is more chaotic and Japan more organised. Oman is truly stunning! Ras al Hamra in the Muscat area had the best snorkelling I've ever seen, even better than El Nido on the Filipino island of Palawan. The sunset dhow cruises are gorgeous. Places we wanted to do, but never did include Salalah near the Yemen border (2nd largest city), wadi bashing and visiting Al Hadd (Turtle Beach) where you can see turtles hatching and it's very eco-friendly. Food is cheap, there are some reasonably priced restaurants, but otherwise it is an expensive place.

Thank you guys for opening up about yourselves by answering this questions! you guys answered what's one of your dream places would be to go to, for us we really want to go to Bali. We are planning on going there for a honeymoon but plans changed and ended up going to Italy and Greece. Both of those countries were amazingly beautiful but we still have the itch to go to Bali. and then a country that would scare us too but we would still really like to travel to would probably be Egypt.
O Yeah I think Egypt would be a spot yen and I have to see at one point. There is just way too much mystery, historyand wonder that's there. I think Italy and Greece would still make a spectacular honeymoon and it's aways nice to have a destination that is a one day bucket list 😏👍

Hey bro! thank you firstly for such a nice comment appreciate you fam. I think the biggest thing new Zealand has taught us is to have love for all races and cultures. Growing up I was the only Asian in a Pacific island school and I always felt welcome even after school visiting my neighbours houses getting a feed with their families 😁 as I got older and met more cultures and talk to more people the appreciation grows. Sharing food is the easiest way to get to know people and so we gotta share the vibe 😂ok rant over thanks for reading 🤣

Hahahaha mate your comment cracked me up. We caught a bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo last year and that was one of the first times yen was perfectly fine while travelling. You know sometimes people give you something to eat and out if politeness you take a bite and feel immediate regret 😂😂😂 that's usually the situation I'm in. If you can connect every country with high speed bullet trains that would be amazing just don't forget to connect nz too 😂

Yen, u can find those luminous plankton in many other places apart from Maldives.. You can find those in pantai keracut, penang too, near your hometown :) its so prettyyy~ just make sure not to go during the full moon.. The moon will light up the beach and you cant see those plankton. :)

@@PeterandYen, Hi Yen! So glad you saw my message. Some tips for you, Pantai Kerachut is part of our National Park. To get there, go to the entrance of the Penang National Park (you can take a bus or take a GrabCar). After that, you can either: 1. Ride a boat (it cost about RM100 one way. One boat sits 10 pax. So if you can find someone to share the ride with while you are getting the tickets, that would be great). The sea can be quite rough. 2. Hike (Just follow the road signs). If you decides to go, be prepared to rough it out. You might need to camp overnight, as it will be dangerous to hike out since you are not familiar with the route. The boats i doubt they will come and get you at night, but you can try. To camp overnight, it is mandatory to hire a guide for safety reasons (RM150). They really know their stuffs :) As for food recommendations, go to Kim Seng Laksa at balik pulau. I personally love their Lemak Laksa and fried rice.. You have to try them! :) Btw, love the videos from the both of you. :) Love from Penang, Malaysia.

I love Mark Weins too he’s an amazing dude! I went to Pakistan in 2019 and it was epic! I went to the restaurant in Islamabad that Mark went to called “ The Monal” and the views was stunning, food was mouth watering and all round 1st class experience. One of my favourite places to visit which left me speechless was the salt mine in Khewra I even have the salt lamp I brought back with me to NZ($5) 100percent salt carving. The malls in Islamabad were so modern and I actually ate the best chocolate cake from this little cake shop in Centaurus mall. I’m a cake person lol so I was surprised haha. In northern Pakistan I went to Kaghan and we hired this driver to take us to Lake saif ul Maluk and it was breathtaking like out of this world..... lost count of how many amazing things we did it’s so cool! One day I’d love to go and explore Lahore and other places up North but trust me you guys would love it!!

How do people of New Zealand (Kiwis) cope with floods, increased UV radiation, poor housing, high levels of crime and racism, earthquakes and volcanoes? These things put me off from moving there even though I love the beauty of NZ.
Hi Apoorva honestly your assessment of new Zealand's shortcomings is pretty accurate. 1. Floods luckily are isolated to winter and happen predominantly up north higher than Auckland where there is lower population. Mostly farm land and holiday homes. 2. Uv radiation needa put on Sun screen it's super easy to get sunburnt here. 3. Crime rates which lead to death is not as high here since its hard to get guns but petty crime is pretty high wherever you go not isolated to just nz. 4. I've lived here most of my life and I would say nz is very accommodating to all cultures the majority of people here are very kind and though there is some racism I would say it's not as bad as a lot of other countries. 5. Earthquakes... def a problem you could always stay in Auckland where there are no fault lines. 5. Volcanoes most are inactive near main cities so this isn't to much of a threat. With every country you need to weigh the good with the bad. This country is beautiful. The people are lovely. The air is clean the water is clear. The government isn't corrupt and it's a safe environment to raise children and raise a daily. We did a pros and cons video of living in nz if you want more info 😁✌🌿
I used to live in Wellington it's a very nice city and new Zealand has very strict laws on building construction especially in Wellington. Because if this even in big earthquakes not so many buildings totally collapse on themselves. I know a bit about this area because I used to work in insurance hahaha. But you do need to assess the risk for yourself but I would live in Wellington no problem.

I have recently read a few articles on various websites which claim that migrants are being exploited and the education system is not as good as the government makes it sound like. Is this information true? Are there no jobs in new Zealand?
Education in New Zealand is great there is the occasional teacher shortage in some areas but that's all. Regarding jobs as a migrant you will have great luck. Finding job in certain sectors I.e developer or mechanic but other skills can be very tough to get a job in. Nz immigration have a points system to see if you qualify.

I actually helped do a bit of editing on this video for the very first time! Only the real basic stuff of the avatars and subtitles at the bottom though but hey it's a start! The main reason I don't edit more is coz I work much longer hours than Peter and the condition for us starting this whole TH-cam thing was that he had to do all the editing and that I'd help him with everything else lol. He's kept up his end of the deal well with a video every single week since we began last Feb 😁

I started watching your videos on Morrocco and Greece and ended up down a big rabbit hole they were all so interesting! I had to laugh when you said Yen gets motion sickness playing video games. I also get this and everyone laughs at me!
So anyway, was wondering if you've found anything particularly helpful for you Yen? I really enjoy travelling and plan to go to Europe next year but yes, also get very motion sick .

You've stumbled onto one of our much older videos here 😂 ahh fellow motion sickness buddy.. you know the struggle 😅 but yea I found for me as long as I have good sleep the night before travel, a decent breakfast so stomach isn't hungry beforehand too and also "sea leg" pills (I just get them from local pharmacy or supermarkets sometimes stock them), it usually does the trick 😅🤞🤞 good luck and happy travels to Europe next year! @@PeterandYen South Korea was such a contrast between ancient and modern. I loved the food like galbi, gamjatang, dol sot bi bim bap, dalkgalbi and super stinky tofu dish cheong guk jang (dead body soup). Korean obsession with convenience, quirkiness and the culture was a real pleasure. Seoul, the DMZ, Busan and Jeju popular destinations, but I spent most of my time in Gangwon province, the largest, least populated and poorest part of South Korea. The hot weather in Oman was fantastic. Omanis are so chilled out. The snorkeling was the best I'd ever experienced just the fish. The rugged mountains, waterways ancient forts and sea are stunning. I loved Omani shuwa, slow cooked lamb or goat with rice, all subtly infused with spices like saffron. Don't expect much hot spicy food unless you eat from South Asian restaurants where Omanis don't go.

@@PeterandYen my pleasure. Yes, dol sot bi bim bap is delicious. I never went to Japan sadly. My wife and others have been and noted that Korea is more chaotic and Japan more organised. Oman is truly stunning! Ras al Hamra in the Muscat area had the best snorkelling I've ever seen, even better than El Nido on the Filipino island of Palawan. The sunset dhow cruises are gorgeous. Places we wanted to do, but never did include Salalah near the Yemen border (2nd largest city), wadi bashing and visiting Al Hadd (Turtle Beach) where you can see turtles hatching and it's very eco-friendly. Food is cheap, there are some reasonably priced restaurants, but otherwise it is an expensive place.

Thank you guys for opening up about yourselves by answering this questions! you guys answered what's one of your dream places would be to go to, for us we really want to go to Bali. We are planning on going there for a honeymoon but plans changed and ended up going to Italy and Greece. Both of those countries were amazingly beautiful but we still have the itch to go to Bali. and then a country that would scare us too but we would still really like to travel to would probably be Egypt.
O Yeah I think Egypt would be a spot yen and I have to see at one point. There is just way too much mystery, historyand wonder that's there. I think Italy and Greece would still make a spectacular honeymoon and it's aways nice to have a destination that is a one day bucket list 😏👍

Hey bro! thank you firstly for such a nice comment appreciate you fam. I think the biggest thing new Zealand has taught us is to have love for all races and cultures. Growing up I was the only Asian in a Pacific island school and I always felt welcome even after school visiting my neighbours houses getting a feed with their families 😁 as I got older and met more cultures and talk to more people the appreciation grows. Sharing food is the easiest way to get to know people and so we gotta share the vibe 😂ok rant over thanks for reading 🤣

Hahahaha mate your comment cracked me up. We caught a bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo last year and that was one of the first times yen was perfectly fine while travelling. You know sometimes people give you something to eat and out if politeness you take a bite and feel immediate regret 😂😂😂 that's usually the situation I'm in. If you can connect every country with high speed bullet trains that would be amazing just don't forget to connect nz too 😂
Haha or like if you ordered it thinking it was gonna be your cheat meal but it was a let down (which comes back to my expectation doesn't meet reality point haha). And that train in Japan and me not getting motion sickness is true but only up to the point when I needed to go bathroom and there's a section you have to cross which def feels the movement! Yen, u can find those luminous plankton in many other places apart from Maldives.. You can find those in pantai keracut, penang too, near your hometown :) its so prettyyy~ just make sure not to go during the full moon.. The moon will light up the beach and you cant see those plankton. :)

@@PeterandYen, Hi Yen! So glad you saw my message. Some tips for you, Pantai Kerachut is part of our National Park. To get there, go to the entrance of the Penang National Park (you can take a bus or take a GrabCar). After that, you can either:
1. Ride a boat (it cost about RM100 one way. One boat sits 10 pax. So if you can find someone to share the ride with while you are getting the tickets, that would be great). The sea can be quite rough.
2. Hike (Just follow the road signs).
If you decides to go, be prepared to rough it out. You might need to camp overnight, as it will be dangerous to hike out since you are not familiar with the route. The boats i doubt they will come and get you at night, but you can try. To camp overnight, it is mandatory to hire a guide for safety reasons (RM150). They really know their stuffs :)
As for food recommendations, go to Kim Seng Laksa at balik pulau. I personally love their Lemak Laksa and fried rice.. You have to try them! :)

I love Mark Weins too he’s an amazing dude! I went to Pakistan in 2019 and it was epic! I went to the restaurant in Islamabad that Mark went to called “ The Monal” and the views was stunning, food was mouth watering and all round 1st class experience. One of my favourite places to visit which left me speechless was the salt mine in Khewra I even have the salt lamp I brought back with me to NZ($5) 100percent salt carving. The malls in Islamabad were so modern and I actually ate the best chocolate cake from this little cake shop in Centaurus mall. I’m a cake person lol so I was surprised haha. In northern Pakistan I went to Kaghan and we hired this driver to take us to Lake saif ul Maluk and it was breathtaking like out of this world..... lost count of how many amazing things we did it’s so cool! One day I’d love to go and explore Lahore and other places up North but trust me you guys would love it!!

How do people of New Zealand (Kiwis) cope with floods, increased UV radiation, poor housing, high levels of crime and racism, earthquakes and volcanoes? These things put me off from moving there even though I love the beauty of NZ.
Hi Apoorva honestly your assessment of new Zealand's shortcomings is pretty accurate. 1. Floods luckily are isolated to winter and happen predominantly up north higher than Auckland where there is lower population. Mostly farm land and holiday homes. 2. Uv radiation needa put on Sun screen it's super easy to get sunburnt here. 3. Crime rates which lead to death is not as high here since its hard to get guns but petty crime is pretty high wherever you go not isolated to just nz. 4. I've lived here most of my life and I would say nz is very accommodating to all cultures the majority of people here are very kind and though there is some racism I would say it's not as bad as a lot of other countries. 5. Earthquakes... def a problem you could always stay in Auckland where there are no fault lines. 5. Volcanoes most are inactive near main cities so this isn't to much of a threat. With every country you need to weigh the good with the bad. This country is beautiful. The people are lovely. The air is clean the water is clear. The government isn't corrupt and it's a safe environment to raise children and raise a daily. We did a pros and cons video of living in nz if you want more info 😁✌🌿

I used to live in Wellington it's a very nice city and new Zealand has very strict laws on building construction especially in Wellington. Because if this even in big earthquakes not so many buildings totally collapse on themselves. I know a bit about this area because I used to work in insurance hahaha. But you do need to assess the risk for yourself but I would live in Wellington no problem.

I have recently read a few articles on various websites which claim that migrants are being exploited and the education system is not as good as the government makes it sound like. Is this information true? Are there no jobs in new Zealand?
Education in New Zealand is great there is the occasional teacher shortage in some areas but that's all. Regarding jobs as a migrant you will have great luck. Finding job in certain sectors I.e developer or mechanic but other skills can be very tough to get a job in. Nz immigration have a points system to see if you qualify.
