I'm from France, i've watched a lot of this kind of réaction vidéo and it's incredible to see that everytbody around thé World had the same réaction when they see Michael : everybody loves him.
He IS definetly thé GOAT
Gosh miss all those who have passed on in this video…: Quincy Jones put this song altogether (he’s a big fan of Angelina Jordon btw)!& yes remember when this song first came out I swear the World was in awe….. Great reaction my friend 😊
thank you sooo much!! oh yeah i reacted to her video singing for quincy! i love it!!
Michael Jackson, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau and James Ingram have passed. Everyone else (of the main singers) are still alive
Quincy is 89
Correction, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote the song, Quincy conducted it like he was doing on stage.
@@RockFan89 Tina Turner has passed (now) as well.
Cindy Lauper with the different colored hair!
Love her part!
Unbelievable talent coming together for a great cause! We need more of that now!
So glad someone already gave you the list of the amazing artist in this video....... just so much talent that came together when Quincy Jones asked them to... no one bowed out... you can see them all reading the lyrics and music... this was truly put together quickly.. but everyone showed up... and you just said a comment... truly the Dream Team from the 80's...
Greatest choir no doubt...❤ur reaction!
Thank you! 😃
As a reactor, this is a treasure trove of endless rabbit holes to go down.
😂"I'm about to fail a pop quiz" !!! That was hilarious😅.. I always tell reactors to re-watch this with their parents to know who's who lol❤
The short guy next to Kenny Rodgers is Paul Simon of Simon and Garfunkel
I love, love this video! One of my all time favorites ✌❤🎶
You are young so I can't expect you to know ALL of the artists in this song!! But you know, there are so many that you should know!! Which tells me that you didn't listen to YOUR Elders or if you didn't have the Elders to teach you, then you are coming into this song cold. ALL of the solo artists in this song are NAMED artists!! And I would like to add that the artists don't see color, but they seen a worthy cause!!
LMAO.. your saying John Oates looks like the bad guy from Road House.. too funny
You are so god good with your expressive reactions.
Yes a truly wonderful collaboration of great singers but the reason behind this was a world fundraiser to help Africa when the first draught and famine hit Africa really hard everyone came together to make this masterpiece for charity ❤❤
The majority of the singers came directly from the Grammy’s.. there was a sign at the entrance to the studio.. ‘Leave your ego at the door’.. there is a behind the scenes you should check out.
It's not the Grammys.
It's the American Music Awards.
😊
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
RIP Harry Belafonte!!
And was done in one night after the grammys
Loved your reaction
Quincy is genius.
Diane Warwick
And Mr. Willie Nelson!!!
It’s was the telecast for me…#prince standing there sucking that lollipop while everyone else was singing😂😂
The tough voice is Bruse Springsteen
Beautiful
Pues gracias a michael x esta eterna cancion❤❤
Excellent use of the word plethora! Slime 💚
what the name of the shirt Diana Ross & Supremes ! the best choir in history !!! # supreme
Also check out the 25th anniversary USA for Haiti
"The eyeballs"! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm SHOOK!
Short guy is Paul Simon.. Simon and Garfunkel
You are doing a lot better than some other young reactioners who I couldn't handle they knew nobody!!
If you see the group pictures all the Jackson's sang the courses. Also that Diana Warwick and Willie Nelson. Lego Byron. Bruce Springsteen. Steve Perry from Journey. Also. Huey Lewis. You should research and react to some of their music.
Thats eat the cake 😂
You're smart. You got more than most. You're also funny and super cute. I think I'm in love lol
Yeah Gen X will remain the toughest and luckiest generation EVER!
My favorite voices of this in no particular order is Dionne Warwick, Cindy Lauper, Kenny Loggins, Daryl Hall, and Ray Charels
To please keep a little respect. "The small one" is Paul Simon.
You,me and a lot of other guys together will not gather the money, this gentlemen did. "Simon & Garfunkel"- "Bridge over troubled Water".
It is great..even better if you'd let it play
Classic Material
so so GOOD! i was blown away
It made me smile how young you are……Michael Jackson put it together
Lionel Richie does look like for Richard Pryor! Oh my God. I need this guy as a friend. He’s hilarious AF! He just needs to change his lid logo to the Old English D for the Tigers, and we’re all set.
My Daddy bought this record for me because he was the biggest Ray Charles fan ever. Every dime went to fight famine in Africa
I feel like ALOT of people who react to this video don't know the following about this video: at the beginning all of the writing on the cover is every single artist's signature who participated in this project, there were 46 recording artists who made this! FORTY SIX!!!!!!! AND every single artist who participated had number one songs of their own!!!! ALL FORTY SIX singers flew to a secret location - received their parts- practiced their parts AND RECORDED this ALL IN ONE DAY!!!!!!!! FOR FREE!!!! ALL money this song made was given to starving people in Africa - minus 10% that was given to homeless people in USA. PLEASE PLEASE go to Wikipedia to learn ALL the details. Like how this sold 20 million copies and how much money was made. This was directed by the extremely talented genius Quincy Jones. Quincy Jones hung a sing at the door to the studio that said Leave egos here. EVERY SINGLE artist came together out of the kindness & generosity from their heart truthfully, humbly no ill will. This will never again in our history. I was so lucky to be able to witness this in my lifetime. I don't think people today understand the gravity of this miraculous project.
That's oats of hall and oats
The creators are the same age as me.... the cover of time magazine was an Kenya girl with vultures ready to eat the dying girl... the cover of time
Creeksquad ~~
Paul simon!!
You´re so stoned bro lol
do you know why there is starving Marvin in South park....Ethiopia in 86
Steve Perry
I've always wondered why the singer with 6 multiplatinum albums with 23 hit singles was only given one line to sing. Though he is the most shy and humble front man for a supergroup to ever live.
You can’t enjoy it if you keep stoping it…..
Lionel and Richard look nothing a like….
Too much talking
I cannot watch if he doesn't know paul or billy fu
I love you but you should’ve reasearched these singers which made such a difference. Your generation will never really know how my generation embraced every religion race etc. sorry to say the world is doomed 🤬
Very few of the reactors ever get the great Paul Simon (the little guy) of Simon & Garfunkel.
I loved this reaction!! And that Gumbo was called the 1980’s! 😀🥰 I’d give my one of my toes to go back to how everything was then, 2023.. but still be just like it was in the 80’s/90’s! 😩👍🏼
I haven't hit play yet but my instinct says I will like this reaction lol. New sub this last month or so, so I am excited to see this.... lets go!
I thought you were gonna say that the big hair was what gave away Diana Ross. I fucking died when you said it was the EYEBALLS! She does have big eyeballs but damn, you're crazy funny!!!😆🤣😂😅
Every other reaction in TH-cam was respectful and appreciated the content of the song and the cast of amazing singers, but your reaction was childish and ignorant!!!!
Please reaction U2. Electrical Storm
BRILLIANT reaction 💜
Please React Chinlung chhuak Artist - We are the world
I suggest you react to a song of each of them 🤩Bruce Springsteen: Dancing in the Dark
We are the world 25 for Haiti. Another star-studded song you should listen to.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love your reaction to this you are fun and made me laugh alot but in 39 years of listening to this I also tear up everything I hear We will never be privileged enough to have these type of legends and greats gather like this again
The one that came after Ross was Dionne Warwick, then after her was Willie Nelson( only person to out smoke Snoop dog with weed)
Willie! But Cheech n Chong are still going strong too! Don't think they've stopped either!
Dude I hate when these reaction videos stop every 2 sec, my Man U had me rolling 😂😂 awesome reaction video
Fun fact: God never turned stone to bread; satan tried to tempt Jesus into turning stone to bread after He had fasted 40 days 😊
You remind me of Charlie Barnett: Neville 'Noogie' Lamont from Miami Vice
Big pot o gumbo..
You should react to we are the world 25 for Haiti
It’s not even close either there will never be a collective of talent and artists like this
This was such a big deal when it came out Africa was going through some tough times and the world literally stopped
I remember when it premiered it was incredible
Now that you have the lists of singers, you should react to them all. You will not be disappointed. A few that were not soloist that I know you will like are Bette Midler, Jeffrey Osbourne, Smokey Robinson, the Pointer Sisters, and Harry Belafonte. The one you said looks like the guy in ghost of Coming to America is Oates of Hall and Oates!
Quincy. Didn’t notice all but together was tearing just to think of how grateful our lives are.
Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder open. The shorter dude with Kenny Rogers was Paul Simon of Simon and Garfunkel Billy Joel was singing with Tina Turner Dionne Warwick who is Whitney Houston’s aunt was singing with Willie Nelson Bruce Springsteen Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates Steve Perry of journey Cyndi Lauper Kim Carnes Bob Dylan Ray Charles then Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen
It was for charity - no one received pay. In fact, a sign was posted on the door stating, "Leave Your Ego Outside" and only one artist who was asked to participate did not (Prince demanded a recording studio to himself and was refused). United Support of Artists for Africa (USA for Africa) was the name under which 47 predominantly U.S. artists recorded the hit single "We Are the World" in 1985. The song was a U.S. and UK number one for the collective in April of that year. USA for Africa also held a benefit event, Hands Across America, in which approximately seven million people held hands in a human chain for fifteen minutes along a path across the continental United States. Participants paid ten dollars to stand in line. The combined revenues raised from the sales of "We Are the World" and Hands Across America was almost $100 million which the USA for Africa Foundation used them for the relief of famine and disease in Africa and specifically for the horrifically deadly 1983-1985 famine in Ethiopia
Research lol
Back in the best days
Cyndi Lauper
Cyndi lauper killed it. i was a hair band guy in the 80s and dismissed her as silly pop music. but man.... what an amazing voice. i feel like i missed out on something
If you dismissed Cyndi Lauper as a silly pop star you definitely missed out. :(
Paul Simon
Those were the days
I love James Ingram’s voice. Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson.
We all had to learn this song in music 🎶 class back in the 80s. Best of times!!!
GLOBAL SCEEZ
A very iconic video/song! Enjoyed the reaction!! 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
5:51 "Like a big pot of gumbo" - lol
Omg just let your sooooouuulll gllloooowww!!!! 😂😂😂
No, you did not just say gumbo with okra!?!? Take me to my childhood sceez!!
So many great artist all in one place! The 80’s was a wonderful time for music! All for a great cause!
I really like this song! Gives me chills every time I hear it!
So much passion!
They weren't worried about who's better looking just about who they were going to help.
no they did not get paid, it was done for charity and fund raising for the famine that was going on in Africa...
That song is awesome it embodies the American spirit. Love it don't believe the ish they saying about America trying to tear it apart and destroy its beauty . we are truly blessed to be part of America . U.S.A U.S.A. U.S.A.!!!!!!
Quincy Jones is the GOAT of Producers.
Bro - I almost died when you said that 1 dude looked like the bad guy from Ghost. I'm crying 🤣
The legend Quincy Jones put it all together.
And yes, I believe they all did it for free.
All proceeds went to Africa.
Amazing song, performance, and purpose.
Harry Belafonte & Ken Kragen (mega talent manager, TV producer, activist & fundraiser) put it together & were in charge. They secured the talent, facilities, staff, etc. Ken contacted Bob Geldof, plus Lionel Ritchie, Kenny Rogers & Kim Carnes (Ken managed all 3), Stevie Wonder & Quincy Jones. Quincy brought MJ on. Harry & Ken then chose Lionel & MJ to write it. Word of the project quickly spread & Ken said he ended up having to turn away dozens of artists. Kenny Rogers owned Lions Share Studios & donated it for the work that was done before & after the "big night."
I'm Ems age I kno EVERY1on this joint & remember this moment VIVIDLY‼️‼️‼️
This was made after Bob Geldof asked Quincy Jones to lead the American effort on African aid. Many of the credits are in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_the_World.
Written by Michael Jackson + Lionel Richie.
Underrated. After the call-and-answer from Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder, notice the ascending vocal belt from the late James Ingram. Singers like Morissette Amon use this technique.
RIP to the fallen.
The only non-American singing is Dan Akroyd. He is Canadian 🍁, from Toronto, ONT. David Foster, of Victoria, BC, wanted him to sing for the Canadian effort for African relief but American actress Donna Dixon, and wife of DA, and Quincy Jones convinced him otherwise. Some gentle jabbing that two producer/writer QJ did! They still remain friends! LOL
Suggested next video:
Tears Are Not Enough performed by Northern Lights. This is the Canadian supergroup conducted by David Foster. Bryan Adams, Anne Murray, Geddy Lee + Neil Young are some of the singers. 🇨🇦

It was made after Harry Belafonte learned of Band Aid's song & felt the US should do something too. Harry contacted Ken Kragen (mega talent manager, TV producer, activist & fundraiser). Harry & Ken were in charge. They secured the talent, facilities, staff, etc. Ken contacted Bob Geldof, plus Lionel Ritchie, Kenny Rogers & Kim Carnes (Ken managed all 3), Stevie Wonder & Quincy Jones. Quincy brought MJ on. Harry & Ken then chose Lionel & MJ to write it. Word quickly spread & Ken said he ended up having to turn away dozens of artists. Kenny Rogers owned Lions Share Studios & donated it for the work that was done before & after the "big night."
In a 2009 interview, Dan Akroyd said his involvement was by accident. He & his father were looking for a financial manager. They mistakenly went to a talent manager. When they realized the mistake & were getting ready to leave, the manager (Ken Kragen) asked Dan if he’d like to be a part of the project.
Bob Geldof is listed as a performer too. Did he just play the triangle or something? 🤣 He definitely can't be heard singing, thankfully 😂
I didn't mind him in boomtown rats.
Good info. 👍
There is a video 📹 where David Foster wanted Dan Akroyd to sing in Northern Lights. But Quincy Jones said, "We got him!"
@@WineSippingCowboy Thanks for that. Now it makes sense. Knowing what Akroyd said, I've wondered where the "Foster tried to get him, but Quincy convinced him otherwise" came in. Akroyd wasn't "convinced." He'd just already agreed to the USA project.
40 years ago 🎂, David Foster and Quincy Jones worked on the Thriller album. At the end of recording, the 2 went on separate recording projects.
After QJ finished recording We Are the World, he told DF that Bob Geldof needed a supergroup from Canada 🇨🇦 for African relief. DF knew Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance, Loverboy and Prism in the late 1970s and early 1980s up in Vancouver. DF asked their manager Bruce Allen to call up other big names such as Anne Murray, Geddy Lee and Neil Young to pitch in. This was the project that DF wished Dan Akroyd was in. Eugene Levy, Paul Shaffer and the late John Candy came and sang.
The making of Tears Are Not Enough has both the sad and very funny moments. With Candy, Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy, they guarantee lots of laughs! L🤣L
Glad you got the whole picture! 📷 I hope that the reactor here will watch Northern Lights perform Tears Are Not Enough. The link listed includes names of everyone who sang. 👨🎤👩🎤
