Just a suggestion if you added a rubber strip Attached vertically to your leading edge maybe 1/2 in below it it would seal better to the floor leave less in middle of strip. I enjoy your channel.
For the rubber, consider using half a worn out tractor tyre bolted on each side. Incidentally, turning the half tractor tyre around the other way makes a nifty durable scraper on a small skidsteer for cleaning the lanes of manure between feeding stalls, bedding stalls.

Hi Again- I saw on another farm site( good but not as great as yours of course) that they put a large piece of a big tire onto the front of the panel you push the feed with. It seemed to be from an old tractor tire, cleaned and cut in half to make the semi circle. It maybe saved the wood from splintering and adding that into the feed, it hugged the ground well snd the curve inside the well of the tire had the snow plow effect of really flipping the feed back in closer. Maybe you’ve seen this idea and it won’t be better then what you’re using but I thought I would just add it. Your invention is great- time is money .👍❤️❤️❤️

Hey uncle Mike. I wish you a very, very speedy recovery. My wife has had both of her hips replaced. Left hip at 33 years old, recovered quickly and then had a revision(2nd replacement) 10 years later due to faulty hardware, recovered and is still doing grea. She had her right hip done 2 years ago at 55 years old and is going strong. You will recover rather quickly and be back to doing your thing in no time. Have a great day.

Your pusher is brilliant, similar to a horse drawn snow plow. if you know anyone with draft horses, they might know. With the snow plow, they angle it more to one side, then you don"t have snow going on both sides of the triangle. Same with silage. It might keep silage out of the middle. You need an old 4-runner, use it only for this, no worry about muck on the tires. you should also calculate the time savings in man hours. Well done!
Amy, I agree on the old 4 runner...or how about an old riding lawn mover? (I bet Tom could even get a sponsorship from a dealer for a new one!) I think he did great on model 1.0, but 2.0 or even 3.0 will be even better and great brain anti-aging conectivity for the gray cells! {I also bet Andrew could give him a few ideas!}

I also have a bunch of thought on how to make it work better for you(like make it semi autonomous). One of my jobs is in design, so this would be a real interesting project. Tom. You have a small ATV. I imagine that you could make one to fit it and use a smaller vehicle and stay out of the muck. Instead of forks you come off the front axle or a front horizontal piece of the frame. That's your pivot point. And use a front mounted winch to raise and lower your silage wedge plow. You could even cut it in half and strictly have a blade that goes from the center point back to your right.

Nice idea on the pusher. Goes to show that if you want to make things easier, give the job to a lazy person. Because they'll figure out the way to do that expends the least amount of energy ;) For a future version, if you make it a rhomboid instead of a triangle so that you have one side angled forward and the other angled back and find a way to affix it to the tongs of the manitu (Drill a hole in the front and put a pin through it? Or just some chain around one of the stanchions at the arm) you can then push the feed on one side on the way in, and push the feed other side while backing out.

The rubber tends to wear out pretty quick on concrete. But HDPE plastic works great. Still wears out over time but lasts a lot longer.
