  • Learn in this video tutorial how to use Motion Controlled Movements while creating a Cloning Effect. BUT instead of shooting with a motorized slider and a pan & tilt camera head, we use a 360 camera, setting up camera movements during post-production. Check out this motion control trick on a budget, and for further 360 photo and video tutorials, subscribe here: th-cam.com/users/gabavr?sub_co...
    =======================================
    Cloning effect is very popular and exciting in movie making, and it’s quite simple, as long as you are shooting with a still camera. But when it comes to a moving shot, we face the problem that we need a motion control pan & tilt head and a motorized slider to record everything with the same camera movements over and over again.
    And of course, when it comes to a dialogue, or any interaction between the clones, we have to take care of timing too: we have to say the sentences or do certain movements in the right moment to cut these things together.
    But what if I say, we can achieve the same pan & tilt stop motion effect without having to move the camera?
    The 360 camera stays still during shooting, and I create all the movements afterwards, so I don’t have to bother with timing and repeating camera moves during shooting.
    In this tutorial I show you the entire process from recording to the final steps in post-production, how I recreate the famous and funny scene of Life of Brian with a small twist. This time there will be clones in the crowd, when “Brian” says “you’re all individuals…” And we will shoot it as a moving camera scene without having to move the camera during shooting!

    Great video Gaba! One question: What version of premiere pro do you use? I have Premiere Pro 2020, and GoPro VR plugin does not work. Could you help me with that?

    • @GabaVR
      @GabaVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!
      I'm still using the 2019. I knew about the issues with these plugins, so I haven't updated yet.
      On the other hand, you cannot use the Insta360 plugin and the new GoPro FX at the same time. So the non-stitch workflow only works properly with the old GoPro plugins. Or if you sill have problems with it, try the 'Reframe360' plugin.
      If you have a PC, you can download it from this link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1qkagYCZsttsF8VBLdulj1FIq7dEG1c61?usp=sharing
      I hope one of these solution will help! 🙂

    Really nice tutorial!!!! Thanks!! Also the quality is really good.. Any advice on settings when shooting indoor? Or do you use any special LUT? I have the One X too but indoor is hard to get good quality..

    • @GabaVR
      @GabaVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, indoors I always shoot with manual settings. Depending on the scene these can be different. For instance, for moving scenes I I set up a faster shutter speed and a little bit higher ISO, while when I shoot from a tripod, I can go to 1/50s or 1/60s (with 25 or 30fps) and there will be no motion issues.
      On the other hand, indoors I also take care of lights, making sure that both lenses are exposed similarly. You can play around with it and check it out on the live preview.
      In the beginning I was testing LOG mode, but finally I didn't like the color science so much, so I shoot with normal color profile.
      During post-production I don't use the "official" Insta360 LUT, but I color grade my videos one-by-one with custom settings. In most of the case I color correct my footages in Premiere with Lumetry colors, and then sometimes I apply a creative LUT, depending on the scene, but in most of the cases I pick up one from the basic Adobe kit, and play around with it.

      @@GabaVR Wooww Amazing Bro!!! Thanks a lot for this detailed explanation!! I will start to give it a try next time I film indoor.. Btw I did the clone video already, but I didnt see your tutorial, so it took me so much time because first I did the camera moves then the masking, so every mask needed to move with the camera movement.... it is so much faster if you do the masks before with the equirectangular footage as you did!!! Amazing tip and tutorial!

    What editing program do you use?

    • @GabaVR
      @GabaVR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this video I use Premiere Pro, but you can use any other editor, like FinalCut or Davinci Resolve. The point is working with multiple layers and putting them above each other.

    is there other edit software then Adobe to use?

    • @GabaVR
      @GabaVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you can edit the base of the effect almost in any video editor which allows you editing on multiple layers and creating masks.
      And then you can export the flat 360 video and do the reframing job with a free 360 editor software, like Insta360 Studio.

    • @GabaVR

      No, as you can see in the tutorial, I’m working in Premiere Pro.

    • @GabaVR

      Yes, the latest version of the app is fine. Unfortunately the stand-alone Insta360 Studio is only capable to edit one video at a time, so that’s why I prefer Premiere.

    • @GabaVR
      @GabaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I don't use Adobe Rush, so I don't know about the possibilities in masking or working with reframing plugins on phone. But I think as this is quite a CPU intensive editing process, it's better to work on computer.
