Of Course! Cool Storíes. Even when I`m not the greatest fan of What Morrison made with beast and the final twist was...o.o (at 11. 11.) is btw the Birthday of the late David Cockrum. ( I actually planned my answer spoiler free... XD )
Oh yeah I bet you’ll dig it! I had read the first handful of issues once upon a time and enjoyed but I never had an opportunity to read the whole run. I was stoked to see this reprint this year as well 💪❌
Yeah like many marvel omnibuses I believe the page thickness decreased so a bit slimmer for sure. Still nice though wasn’t a ton of bleed through or anything. I had a Blast reading this run 👏❌
Excellent review. This is one of the first Omnis I read on returning to comics after 10 years away. I was amazed at Morrison’s inventiveness and intensity. I found some of the arcs really propulsive but some left me behind. This may, as you say, be down to the art changes. I hated Kordev’s art (and I know it was done under extenuating circumstances) but I thought it was awful, so dark and everyone so ugly. Morrison certainly creates some ideas with real legs during this run and whilst I enjoyed it, and agree with pretty much everything you said, on balance I prefer Astonishing which may say more about my intellect than the relative merits of the two. Great review Dom and glad to have actually read the book in question for a change.
Love this comment! Thanks for writing it all out. Definitely agree with a lot of your points here! I also really love that Astonishing run 💯. They’re so different stylistically it’s almost hard to compare ha. I really like this both but in such different ways for such different reasons 😂 Great to get more feedback on this run! Thanks for watching :)
Never been a big X-Men fan, and I can be mixed on Morrison, but this is a run I've been looking at for a while. Owen Loves Comics has a great video on it.
I might need to search that out thanks for the recommendation! I really enjoy X-men but it can be difficult to get a foothold in. I do think this is a solid run 🤷🏻♂️
This might be controversial but I always thought the X-Men made more sense being self-contained and not linked to the overall Marvel universe. They just have so much going on, and I never understood while some in the Marvel Universe were okay with Iron Man or Thor, but not mutants. Then again, they do hate Spider-Man and put White Tiger on trial in Bendis’s Daredevil. Yeesh, the people in the Marvel universe suck.
I think I'll get this omnibus I've been wanting it for a long time! it feels like around this time the new X-Men and ultimate X-Men comics were really trying to be like the films with the black suits and darker tone also who's your favorite X-Man? Mine will always be wolverine!
Great review of an epic run. Only the iffy art in some places (Igor Kordey himself apologized for his rushed art) and Jean staying dead (who knew it would last 14 years this time?) detracted from this for me.
I found Grant Morrison's XMen run hugely overrated. It wasnt as convoluted and pretentious as Morrison's other mainstream superhero runs, but, I preferred the easier to read, more joyful Joss Whedon and John Cassaday Astonishing XMen run. I think the Peter Milligan and Michael Allred XStatix run was superior to the Morrison XMen run.
I have always wanted to read that X-Statix run, hoping for an omnibus reprint eventually. I really enjoyed my time with this run personally, loved what Morrison brought to this franchise. The whole run has such a unique feel to it and I just had a blast. That being said I also Love that astonishing X-Men run you mentioned. Outstanding art and fantastic stories
@@TheComicBookReport If XStatix Omni is reprinted, I do strongly recommend getting it. There are some surprising events that happen in the series, and Milligan is a fun, satirical writer.
Have you read the New X-Men? ❌

Not yet. Have been considering it though.
This is one X-Men Omni I still haven’t gotten around to reading. Glad we finally got a reprint. Sounds like I’ll love it, great review as always.

Tha k you so much. That was an excellent review. You covered everything in there. Awesome work.
Wow! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the review :)
I had a blast reading this one 👏
Are you a fan of the X-men? 👏📚
I love this run.
I have one of the first printing and the reprint looks a lot thinner.

i really enjoyed watching ur video, thankyou for this even though i can't have those omnibus in our country.
Wow thanks for watching!
Sorry these don’t have omnibus in your country :/
What kinds of comics do you enjoy reading? 📚📚📚
Amazing story, cyclops optic blasting Magneto in the face was awesome, but Quietlys creepy Emma frost still gives me nightmares to this day 😂
This comment is awesome 😂👏
Yes! Epic stuff here 👏

@@jakebeninato9938 to me Xmen has always felt like it’s own universe based largely on the points you’re saying here haha

Mine is always Wolverine too 💯

@@jumu446 yeah I’ve heard good things and I’m a huge fan of Allred art 👏
Will need to be on the lookout thanks for the feedback :) 📚
Id be interested to read it but I cant get over Frank Quietlys art....looks like dog crap.
He definitely has a very distinct style. I personally really enjoy it but I can certainly see how it’s not for everyone
@@TheComicBookReport Yeah,I dont know what it is about his artwork but him and Michael Allred...I just....I hate looking at thier art.
@@xXCigarXx fair enough
There are a lot of artists though, it's not just Quietly doing the art. That's one way to look at it, but it's a very good story.
