The Planetary Omnibus is the best done in one book of all these, but, it does need an appreciation of general comics and pop culture, to get the most out of the homages and analogues encountered by the team.

While not ideal & incredibly Horrorshow to read outdoors and in public: THE INVISIBLES COMPLETE STORY OMNIBUS by Grant Morrison I bought back in 2013 would be one of my faves.
Except that overencumbered tomes like this are kinda wish why I prefer Massive Boxsets to collect up to 10-20 Tpbs. Like how Locke and Key, Hellboy, Saga & Mangas do it.

It's an interesting list. I do have the Venomnibus on my self waiting patiently for its turn. I also want to catch up with The Planetary as Warren Ellis is one of my favourite writers.
I would suggest to add the Big Damn Sin City to the list. It's a full Sin City experience, a real threat for all those that are into crime noir stuff. The next one would be Batman Hush omnibus. It's also a complete experience, some stories are great others maybe not so much, but overall it's a good read.

Cable and Deadpool is a great series, and a great omnibus.
I was buying New X-Men in real time, and it was odd and different. I don't think it has aged well.
Venom by Cates and Stegman is a solid volume and tells a great story. This was my first exposure to Cates, so I didn't realize, at the time, that he was a one trick pony.
Planetary by Ellis and Cassiday is a perfect stand-alone omni.
Here are some suggestions for, what I think, are great stand-alone omni's or hard covers.
    1) Murder Falcon deluxe HC, by Daniel Warren Johnson. Can't recommed this highly enough.
    2) Kamandi omni by Jack Kirby
    3) The Demon HC by Jack Kirby
    4) Shade the Changing Man HC by Steve Ditko
    5) The Creeper HC by Steve Ditko
    6) 4th world omni by Jack Kirby
    7) Doom Patrol omni by Grant Morrison and Richard Case.
    8) Squadron Supreme HC by Mark Gruenwald, Bob Hall, and Paul Ryan
    9) Gravel: Never a Dull Day HC by Warren Ellis and Mike Wolfer
    10) Oblivion Song Compendium by Robert Kirkman and and Lorenzon Di Felici
    11) Poison Elves: The Mulehide Years by Drew Hayes
    12) Amazing Spiderman omn1 1 by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. Honestly, if you want a complete Spidey story, this is it.
    13) Captain Marvel: Genis Vell by Peter David and Chrisscross
    14) Legion of Superheroes The Great Darkness Saga by Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen.

@@TheComicBookReport Hello again. Thank you for the question. So just like you mentioned how yes we all ready may know Superman but this story itself almost is self contained. I would throw these 3 myself. For old school fans. The S.H.I.E.L.D. Complete collection. (Steranko) and Guardians Solo Classics. I know a lot of people hate on the fraction FF run so I was surprised to see it on your list. I haven’t read it yet but I bought it for cheap a few months ago. I figured I would give it a chance but since I read everything in order it will be a while before I get to it. You’re right about gwenppol, I don’t think I could ever read something like that because it doesn’t look like something I would like but maybe I would? Agree on a lot of your choices but haven’t read some of them. Never got to read planetary but I plan on it eventually.

Of the three titles you pointed out I do think planetary is probably the strongest series.
I am an unapologetic fan of that run on fantastic four but I do not seem to be the majority opinion here. I think part of it is I’m a huge fan of all of the creators. I love the variety we get in that book.
Gwenpool is probably not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the art style to be captivating, and it was just so refreshing different from a lot of the other marvel titles I had been reading.

@@TheComicBookReport I read silver surfer and although I liked it and didn’t really have any problem understanding anything with limited Silver surfer knowledge, I don’t know how I like it being canon. I think it kinda works out better as an elseworlds or out of continuity story but that’s me. I don’t know if the fraction run is good or not but I think the problem is it came after hickmans run and it’s hard to follow up with that.

Man,I really enjoy your channel and think you do quality stuff but man I can not get on board for the type of stuff you enjoy. Only one book you recomended would I even consider reading. Allred and Morrison are two of my most disliked creators and superman and gwenpool are two of my most disliked characters in general. I do think the cable and deadpool omni looks like it could be a good time though....but deadpool really hinges on if you like the writers comedy. Either way we can like different stuff, you got a pretty nice channel going. 😅 I read the whole Venom series and thought it was alright....the art saved it. Planetary I also read and own but probably wont read again...

Ok I love this! First thanks for watching especially if we have differing tastes 😅👏📚
Also love what you wrote about Deadpool a great point I had not considered-do I gel with the writer’s comedic style as that drives the strength of a comic featuring Deadpool. I think there’s truth in that from my experience with that character. I will say that Cable & Deadpool comic run was a high water mark for me for the character in many way because while there are a lot of punchlines and jokes I felt Nicieza had enough depth of character to avoid having Wade come across as just a caricature rather than a person of substance.
