- These new series of online ballet classes, are especially for beginners. So if you’ve never tried ballet but always to, this is your moment!
Together with teachers from the Dutch National Ballet Academy Dario Elia & Simona Ferrazza and dancers of our Company, we will help to stay fit. Paul James Lewis accompanies these classes with his enchanting piano sounds.

One of my favorites!! Thank you so much for this beautiful class.
This video works well because the camera angle is a little to the side. When the camera is positioned at the end of the bar, facing the dancers, you can't always tell what their feet are doing. The camera needs to be looking at the bar more from the side. Also, this is a good one because the camera stays closer to the dancers instead of a long shot so much of the time. Thank you.
One year later this is still my favourite barre class! ♥

Thank you so much for this class! I particularly loved this instructor and this lesson. The attention to detail, the way she took her time to explain every step and repeat the steps to help me remember, the way each exercise builds on the previous were all extremely helpful! This is such a gift to us to share these classes with us for free from some of the best dancers and instructors in the world! It is so rare to find such clean classical technique and artistry online that is neither too easy or too complex for those of us who are amateur but want to participate in this lovely art form!
Please keep doing more of these! Both Barre and Center Classes! It's been a great experience to be able to practice at home. The dance studio closed due to the pandemic and I don't have a studio near me, but I love these classes. Even when it's online, I am very careful to follow corrections given to the dancers in these videos, so I can improve my technique!

This was beautiful. Thank you guys so much. I am 44, and since the Corona lockdowns I've been doing once a week a beginner ballet bar at home. This young dancer's sharp leg work and round hand work are an inspiration to me. I may have even shed a tear at the end... 🥲

This was so good...being a woman of 48 now as opposed to a 16 year old (who used to dance on pointe) I feel the difference!!! The workout was amazing.
I am also an older adult at 51! I also danced in pointe shoes in the past. What came easier at 16 is definitely more challenging now!

Thank you for these lessons! I used to be a ballerina when I was younger and my body no longer performs as it did 30 years ago. I decided to take your beginner barre today at home just to get my body moving again and fill my soul with the piano and movement. I very much enjoyed your class and will return!

I liked this class and the prior beginner class. Some of the foot work was a little fast for me. Establishing a turnout or re-establishing it after many decades of not dancing is challenging. But anything that is hard work is worth the investment of energy.

After being on the professional track in my youth, SAB in NYC, and leaving ballet, I realized decades later, there is no other exercise that replaces the muscle and mental clarity than ballet. Warming up, getting ready to give myself your barre.@@DutchNatOperaBallet
Love this class and revisit it frequently. This pace is perfect for a 70 year old wanting to just maintain some of the skills learned in my youth. Can self correct alignment and the combinations are great even if some eleve and releves need to remain flat. Thank you so much

Can i really learn ballet online?hehe. I just think it’s impossible to learn to point without physical class.
You have to start somewhere, but you can always perfect your technique in a physical class and make it on point! 🩰😉
